That double eye face on the Venusian really screws up my vision. 😳👍
Yes, it does. = P
What would make this even better is if the coffee machine came to life and revealed that a race of sentient robots is _also_ trying to take over the Earth.
I like that!
I'm a TZ Freak and this is one of my favorites. Excellent alternate ending!!!!
Thanks so much! Sometimes a die-hard TZ fan will find it sacrilege. That nothing can be messed with. I just wanted to have a little fun with it.
If Rod was alive today and saw this, I think that he would love it and probably say "I wish that we could have done that back then."
Thanks!
That's what they wanted to do but the effect didn't work out, so they had to resort to a single prosthetic eye
Yea very good edit
That was fun!
I was 11 at the time when I stumbled into the Twilight Zone. This ( the original version) was the first episode of the Twilight Zone I ever saw. Got me hooked. They had started showing them in syndication in the early evening around 1966 in Los Angeles, CA.
It's a great show that has held up well over the years.
I'm sure even Rod would appreciate what advances in special effects were available 60 years after that show aired.
I agree. He was able to achieve so much with far less. Nowadays he could do anything he wanted to as far as effects go, but he'd still have the edge with the writing.
I recently discovered that John Hoyt (the guy who played the three armed Martian in this episode) also played Grampa Kanisky, Chief Kanisky's father, on the early '80s sitcom, "Gimme A Break".
That's cool. He was a good actor.
I wish this had kept going and become a huge comedy! "Oh really, Venusian? So clever you are...well, I'm afraid you and the Martian are both about to go extinct, for we the Jupitarians have already come for this planet."
"HA HA HA! Please, Jupitarian, all three of you are fools! We the Neptunians have conquered this mud ball ages ago!"
"Oh, I am sorry, but all of you are quite wrong...for my people have already conquered all of yours! Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha! Nobody ever expects Uranus!!"
Oh man, that would've been epic. = P
Wouldn't aliens from Jupiter be called Jovians?
A new meaning to 4 eyes.
Really well done!
Always loved that song, and it's so appropriate here!
Thanks!
I'm flattered that these two alien species find our planet so beautiful, they're both fighting over it!
Can't blame 'em. = P
It won't be beautiful for much longer...
It's not too different from what's actually taking place.
@@mr.timebombman2230 This planet does have far more beautiful, interesting scenery than either of our neighboring planets; maybe they fell in love with Earth's gorgeous Pacific Island paradises that I've been to. Those islands certainly look more spectacular than anything on Venus or Mars.
How about this scenario: Venus and Mars destroy each other's atmospheres in their mutually destructive war. Mars becomes a dead cold planet and Venus becomes a hellish dead planet. Later, Robotic Landers from Earth find both planets dead and all evidence of past civilization erased.
I feel I love that one better especially the eyes and the jukebox playing Venus song . 😂 3:40
Thanks.
I've never seen that particular episode --- and that ending was BRILLIANT.
Thanks!
This is the altered version. In the original, the Venusian has only one extra eye, in the middle of his forehead, and there’s no song played.
Very nice edit of the scene. Hell, even Frankie Avalon's Venus was made shortly before this episode, but you can tell the song was edited into this alternate version.
So the Venus song was timed right so that it could've been on the jukebox. = ]
I used a sound-alike of Avalon's. I can't remember the artist. It was such a short snippet that it didn't set off a copyright notice. Of course the video itself did.
“Venus” was a nice touch! Loved the fact the Martian had no idea what “ wet “ meant!
GREAT! THAT'S how it SHOULD have looked! Good work!
Thanks!
Funny thing about this scene. Of course, you can easily figure out how they did the three hands for John Hoyt, but they did a great job with it. If you look closely at 2:58, the third hand is starting to pick up the coffee cup, then they switch to Barney Phillips, and when they return to Hoyt, his own hand is lifting the coffee cup and the third hand was holding the cigarette pack.
Kinda hard for someone reaching from behind to lift a coffee cup to another guy's mouth.... 😆
That's a good observation.
I went back to watch it again. You're correct.
Yes, and John helps by moving his mouth to the cup.
Still a fun surprise when I first saw it. The eye effect here was of course much better, but unexpected from a RUclipsr.
Oh, well done! The original eye looked incredibly fake, the new effect you created is perfect!
Thanks! They could only do so much back then, so we can't really fault them.
Agreed on the awesome eye effects here
It looked « incredibly fake » because in the 1960’s this was the best they could do
Nobody reads comment anymore before making their own.
Cmon !
love when the martians got salty
Barney Phillips has the quintescential Twilight Zone face.
Indeed. it was a good face..
Barney Phillips was also one of the great voices in the days of network radio dramas.. He was one of the best actors in that medium, along with people such as Elliott Lewis, John Dehner, William Conrad, Joseph Kearns. John Dehner was in several episodes of The Twilight Zone, as I feel sure you know.
ALWAYS LOVED THIS ENDING ONE OF THE BEST OF HIS MANY EPISODES............
Me too!
Unbelievable! Hamburger 30 cents!!! Happy days :)
Heck of a deal.
For the longest time the wife and I just assumed that the counter man was Claude Akins. But it was actually Barney Philips. They had the same smile. And could easily have passed for brothers.
You're right. Very similar looking.
Simply the best 👏
I remember back in the early 80's when I was a little boy, various local TV channels would sometimes show these old TZ episodes in the early morning hours. Obviously at that age it was seriously scary and nightmarish for me. But as I got older I clearly saw just how intelligently these creepy, dark stories were put together and strongly acted!
Well said. And with the episodes being streamed in high definition, we're seeing these in much better quality than when they were originally broadcast. And they hold up really well.
@@4seeableTV And being in B&W, that somehow gives the TZ a colder, spookier flavor than it would have been in color.
When that clerk took his cap off I nearly shit myself!
= P
Venus....OOPS!!!!
The perfect choice on the music Venus.
Thanks!
@@4seeableTV Your welcome.
the best twilight zone episode ever made just got a little bit better.
Thanks!
@@4seeableTV venus on the juke box was the cherry on top
@@MarkWithASilentQ Thought of that at the last minute. = ]
Ohmigosh, that was freaky. Nice job on the edits.
Thanks!
Really awesome! Love this change up. Fits really good.
Thanks!
Being a Martian with advanced intelligence you should have known cigarette smoking was dangerous and that Venice was inhabited long before Mars and had suitable temperatures billions of years ago.
Oops on the typo, unless they are Italian :} Personally I liked the one eye.
loved it, thank you for posting !!!!!!!!
Thanks for your comment!
Wow! Nice work. I know they originally wanted to do a double exposure effect, but it didn't work, but that, I'm sure is exactly what they were going for.
Thanks! Yes, 2 extra eyes fill out his forehead just right. = ]
Such a simple scene. Just 2 people talking & it's better than anything made today..
I agree.
what thing was made today ?? 🤔
Give the Martian another left arm. Even things out.
I should.
Well done!
really very well done. thank you.
Thanks!
I sometimes find myself rewatching this clip just for the homey feel of the old diner. Having a cup of black coffee on a cold night at a formica counter with some soft big band in the background....
Agreed. Even with two aliens inside from other worlds, I'd still want to pop inside and take in the atmosphere.
Tall order to improve on a classic. Well done.
Thanks!
Excellent work
Thanks!
Great job! That works perfectly!
Thanks Kali!
Love it. So simple twist. So entertaining.
Thanks!
Great job and I love the Venus song
Thanks!
I saw it on Italian TV, on the night of the moon, when the first astronauts landed on our satellite, in 1969
That's very cool.
In this case three eyes are better than two
2;41 A BRILLIANT TWILIGHT ZONE one as usual :)
But seen from modern Zeitgeist, that line with the cigarette would make a great way to stop the Invasion ::)
So true
Fantastic 👍👍👍
Great song 🎶 to us as well !!!
My number 1 favorite episode
Thanks, I love the episode too.
In the original story, titled, "Nobody Here But Us Martians," the original space visitor took the form of a stray dog in the diner. Serling opted to "play fair" with the TV audience.
Interesting. I'm glad Rod made the change.
Alternate ending #2: A man walks in and says "sorry dudes, we folks are coming to colonize and we intercepted you Venusians." We are from Uranus. ;-p
They tried to do a similar thing with double exposure back during the original production (but still with only one extra eye) but they couldn’t get it quite right.
I guess fhey did the best they could at the time.
That was..Realer..
Frickin classic
Very Good. I like it. Make more👍😀👍
Thanks!
Boy Talk About 4 Eyes WE HAVE VISITORS FOR REALS LOOX LIKE
One of my favorite episodes. Good job man congrats, it made me feel like I just saw it for the first time.
Thanks! The episode is one of my favorites as well.
so...THIS was the real Venusian... I see
Indeed. lol
This is my favorite episode and I just loved this alternative ending! WOW!
The funny thing is that the martian had all this technology but didn't know what being wet was? LMAO! And liked Cigarettes? Made me think that they probably just were only decades ahead of use lol!
Good points. And the Martian also knew the word kerplunk, but not the word 'wet'.
Funny little short ☺👍
The music is a nice touch
Thanks!
LOL...I loved this episode!
Me too!
Should had still been only a single eye on top of his head. Since the other alien had three arms. He had three eyes!
Yep
That was a good tweak of SFX.
Thanks!
That was wrong, just wrong....but, that was good!!! Loved it!!!
Thanks. I have lots of love for the original but felt it needed a fun little tweak.
The music felt a bit too loud at the end, I felt it shouldn't have been louder than his laugh, more of a subtle counterpunch rather than a wild haymaker.
I think you're probably right.
Oh look, you people have that 3rd hand to hold a phone now, or coffee. And you now have 2 extra eye's for driving, and texting. So what's the problem now? Wonderfull show's back in the day.
Exactly.
I think I've always thought that the Martian had four hands, but we just didn't see the fourth. It was his second left hand. But when you said just a third hand, I had to rethink it.
@@gregr3720 That would be his second right hand, and arm. He is smoking with the left hand. Wonderfull shows, well put together to make a person think back in the day. Or maybe to have a dream.
Great effect. The original one was not even close. Ah, progress! It reminds me of how much better "The Next Generation" looks compared to the original Star Trek series.
Yes, they did their best, but it's fun to tweak it a bit now that we can.
@@4seeableTV Yes, and thank you.
Omg!! Lol...fantastic!!
Thanks! 👀👀
This is soooooo good!! LOL!
Thanks for the first comment!
@@4seeableTV This is my favorite Twilight Zone episode. It would have been great if the original actually ended like this!
@@Truthguy It's one of my favorites as well. I originally just wanted to give him one real eye in the middle. But then I saw that 2 extra eyes seemed a bit creepier.
@@4seeableTV It was actually the song that you chose to have the jukebox play that was the real kicker for me; appropriate song at the appropriate moment in the song.
@@Truthguy Thanks. = }
I actually like it better than the original. The make up looks more realistic. And the music is a nice touch.
Thanks. It's fun to kind of tweak things a bit.
I like this episode and the original
Interesting that he had 4 eyes instead of 3.
I started out giving him a third eye, copied from one of his real ones. But then I saw that four kind of looked better.
That's because his extra set of eyes were located on his fourhead.
Great and creepy! Did you add the "Hey Venus" on the jukebox or was that already there? Been a long time.
I added it. It just seemed too perfect. Here's the original clip that I used.

@@4seeableTV Fantastic lol!
@@shingabiss Thanks = P
Scott it hasn’t been a long time you’re just going through the first stages of Alzheimer’s.
Would have scared the crap out of me as a kid.... LOL
Me too!
Apparently, they were gonna use a special effect for his third eye in the original, but they had to go practical because you could literally see through the eye.
Interesting.
What I want to know is what's the fourth hand doing?
Lol...
It's funny how these martians and venetians speak perfect English with an American accent!
That's right. They're quick learners I suppose. = P
Probably some degree of Telepathy. The ability to quickly process, store, or download information through another's mind.
Venusians? Like from Venus, or venetians as from Venice?
Venetian blinds
@@anonamus4860Venetian blinds with 4 eyes 😆🤣
THIS IS BETTER THAN THE ORIGINAL!!!!!
Thanks. I guess they did the best they could at the time.
Want to see the full episode put it out.
I tried once and it got pulled. But they're ok with just a segment.
Excell ent. 💙 T.E.N.
Thanks!

Fun to see this again, but could you describe how it’s different? Based on the other comments, is it just that you improved the extra pair of eyes? [Which IS very well done, so kudos for that!)
The original just had one center eye that wasn't very realistic but it was decent for the effects they had at the time. So I wanted to see what it would look like with a realistic middle eye, but then felt two extra eyes kind of looked cooler
Venusians probably evolved from some kind of spider…
The Venusian Haley really owned Ross the Martian by implying that *they* look more like Marduk! 👀👀
Yes!
Alternative version.
I prefer the old way those 4 eyes are not realistic either
I didn’t think the original effects were that bad, and to be honest I hate CGI unless it’s needed and well done.
I liked this but I found it made my vision funny.
I think the bridge of the nose maybe should have got removed, but I’m not criticising your work you done better than I could have!
I like the original episode and they did the best they could with the effects they had at the time. I just wanted to see what it would look like with his real eyes replacing the fake one.
That original eyeball effect didn't pass at all.
@@gregr3720 I guess that was the best they could do at the time.
@@4seeableTV Of course. Your effect looked better.
If this was real, it would have been the perfect ending to the episode...!
Song link? Please and thank you 🥺

Someone please tell me the name of the song ?
Venus by Frankie Avalon
did u change the song to "ooohhh peeennisss"???? or have i hjust been watching too much cumtown
😄😄😄👏👏👏💖💖💖🥳🥳🥳
Whose eyes are the 3rd and 4th. Looks familiar like another old time actor's face.
Just a clone of the same guy's eyes.
Wow that was really cool ! You don't suppose you can take a stab at an episode of The Outer limits do you ? That would be awesome
Thanks. Which episode of outer limits?
Made me dizzy
= }
That’s ridiculous
ok
Looked better.
The 1 in the middle looked tooo fake.
It's all about the parlar tricks
Indeed.
I did a similar illusion once, pretended I loved a girl Screwed her and left in the morning.
