Some more BTS details for ya - the drums were mostly me but yeah, trying to go a bit punchier than usual to match that high-energy Snails vibe.
I really liked your comment about meeting in the middle of the two styles - it’s something I always try to do with collabs cause I feel like that’s most interesting and rewarding. On this occasion I tried to bridge that gap by mixing in some of my own slimey, Snails-inspired sound design, introducing some Colour Bass elements where it was appropriate and thematic rather than launching into those sorta sounds out of nowhere. Similarly we used the Hollow Knight OST as a point of joint inspiration to bridge that gap.
As for the feeling of the track jumping into things very suddenly, we did originally have a longer intro but it was important to Snails to have things be immediately engaging off the bat so it ended up being cut down. Might have to make that extended version available on the Patreon or something 🤔

All due respect to Snails when I say this, but it helps engage the increasing ADHD of listeners to not get bored from a slow developing intro. Additionally, it may be better for live sets to have a shorter intro? Regardless, I love songs that are longer and develop overall and this intro did enough to set up the track regardless. Huge fan of yours! Love your creativity.
