Love the new format and how you include a snippet of the song now! My only critique would be to leave just a tad bit more time after you finish speaking before moving on to the next track. it just feels really abrupt and quick. I love it overall though!

Techno is blowing up but is definitely not a fad. Had a very strong individual scenes for each sub genre: house, tech house, progressive, melodic techno, hard groove etc., that have been active for many many years. Is commercialization of Anyma a fad? Sure. But techno in general has a huge international following.

I'm so damn agree with your take on with people having so much time listening to the new music releases! It's just a habit of mine whenever i finish college day or any free time of the day i always put my spotify and jam out to new music and my playlists too. It felt good and it's helping me feel less stressed about all my work. Also a take of mine about bossfight, i gotta say his older glitch hop and chiptune tracks were the best era of him for me. When i play Geometry Dash i used to jam out his earlier stuffs so much.

Techno (along with anything rave related) is pretty long-lived for a fad. I see it as one of those things that never truly dies and randomly comes back into mainstream consciousness. If we include the mainstream festivals and stuff in here too, it has literally never been more mainstream. Now if we're talking about a "true" rave scene, then that is kind of dying. Especially in the USA. People just don't care about the small local stuff. It's actually kind of sad.

Thank you for featuring my hot take! BTW I still love the LMFAO type of electronic music, because it's so happy and carefree. I do think LMFAO in particular was pretty silly and overly commercial compared to better artists from that time like Avicii and Zedd. I find that this modern EDM fad is all about "seeming cool" by pretending to enjoy genres of music that have no soul, because they're dark and make you seem mysterious, which I just find so phony and pretentious. In this I would include techno, tech house, Excision-style riddim/briddim/tearout, and jump-up DnB with no melody and just the most obnoxious truck horn samples and stuff. In terms of the other hot takes here, here are my takes on a couple of them: - The UK/European bass scene is better than the US bass scene: disagree, but only for bass. For electronic music in general, I FAR prefer the European scene. - People having the time to listen to so much music is unreasonable: disagree. It's a hobby, like you said. I'm sure this person spends just as much time doing some other thing they're passionate about, that we would feel is unreasonable.

A DJ class in highschool sounds so cool!! And I definitely do think learning music theory is very important. When you learn that, you can then apply what you learn to the music you like 🙂
