Please note the carbon tetrachloride in the fire extinguisher is quite toxic and hazardous.
I've seen videos on RUclips where home chemists are searching for these just to get that chemical.
They'll pay 3-500 for it if it's still full. Yes it's toxic so don't open it .
It used to be used as a degreaser also. It is carcinogenic and banned in theUK
Had a wonderful argument over a decade ago about refusing to continue a project once CCl4 was required to be brought onsite. I won due to REACH regulations.
In the old days carbon tet was used for 'dry cleaning' to remove body & hair oils from various headgear, thus the Mad Hatter of Alice's story.
I think about the theories being proposed about the cast and crew dying from cancer due to radiation who had been on the set of THE CONQUERER near the atomic test site. The camera equipment and electronics were cleaned with carbon tetrachloride, they were on movie sets that asbestos was used as snow and they were all heavy smokers. These were just some of the things they were exposed too.
The "enameled metal" really is known as porcelain because the very durable glaze of this type of enamelware really does contain porcelain clay that was baked on. I have old cooking pots made this way, they are great and last several lifetimes if one is careful not to chip them (after they get chipped, they still make cute farmhouse decor).
Old outdoor signs were made from porcelain enamel over metal, and those are worth big bucks now.
The paws on the last thing are perfectly rounded, like it's holding a cigar. The space in back might hold more cigars, or a kit for cutting and lighting them. I can see it being used on a countertop next to a register, to encourage impulse buying. Or as a novelty in a gentlemen's smoking room, so one would always be ready for guests to take.
Pipe and box of matchers maybe?
@@uncralph4354 Other people have guessed that, but to me the paw shape doesn't look ideal to hold a pipe. A pipe isn't the same size on both ends.

I guessed that it was a separator for making low-fat gravy, the fat floats to the top so the meat broth can be drained from the bottom. Boy, was I wrong! I'd still try using it for that purpose... after washing it really well first.😜😂
I think they misunderstood what was meant by calling this type of enamelware "porcelain". Of course the item is metal, porcelain refers to the type of enamel glaze used. The base layer on old porcelain signs were white enamel, the colored design was a baked-on glaze that did indeed contain porcelain clay. This made metal items very durable. Real porcelain advertising signs are worth big bucks now!
The latest item looks like it was meant to hold something in the “paws”. Maybe a pipe, and a box for tobacco or matches sat in the back?
I agree with your guess, especially since they said it has a tobacco smell. My first thought was that it was a doorstop and the "paws" went against the door, but your idea makes much more sense.

Last thing is a pipe holder, square hole is where the tobacco tin went for storage. My old barber as a child was also a tobacconist & had a few similar as decoration, common in British (plus other European countries) 'smoking rooms' in the 1800s through to when commercial cigarettes became the norm (around 1920)
I was able to deduce the humidifier. I have some contemporary ones that are a trough that sits above my baseboard heating radiators. they hold enough water to last two days without refilling. The ones in the clip seen to hold much less. The best part about this style is that you don't need to use extra electricity to add humidity to the air in winter.
I'm going to guess the last item os a pipe holder, the square at the back could be for a matchbox

I had a rucksack like that. It used to be for a field radio, but it made a great backpack for college.
Than it was not the "Kleine Kampftasche", rather the "Große Kampftasche" (Big fighting bag).
In the late 1970s and in the 1980s the "big bag" was often used by pupils as a satchel in Germany.
The square hole was probably for a timber so the object could be part of an old pub and the figure sat at the top maybe.
The web gear the USMC used before the 3 bag or Alice pack was the haversack, it ysed 2 similar sized packs that fastened together one of top of the other vertically. There was a entrenching tool and pouch, shelter half with tent pole and stakes.
When we were stationed in Germany, 1982 to 1985, we had similar humidifiers in our quarters except, made of plastic.

A lot of the items are repeated? I watch regularly, and this simply isn’t true. The only items that show up twice are ones that were unknown at the end of a video. They often show up first in another video when their use is known. What other repeats are you seeing so VERY frequently? Examples, please.
Wrong! You are missing the fun if you don't realize that each video ends with a challenge for us to figure out, which the answer will be revealed in the next episode. That feature is one of the things I love most about this channel. I've been watching for quite awhile and have never seen "repeats". Please give examples if you have.
That is the case of a clock! This is the moving eye clock. You read the time by following the eye pupils around the eye socket. Most of these are dogs, hand carved. Very collectable today.
