When the paint tube has dry or gunk paint on the tip I clean it by using pliers to pull off the dry paint in and around the tip-super easy! and then I squeeze the tube!

I just found you today and I love your style! I'm working on loosening up, and I like how your work reflects that. I'm a gardener as well, and sometimes it's hard to decide what to work on, the garden or painting? Lol! Thank you for sharing your work and your garden. :)

I’m a new subscriber and I’m so glad I found you. Thank you for sharing so much of your method of getting ready to paint. I’ve lost my enthusiasm for painting so haven’t done any for years but I may just start again using your technique of painting the blank canvas red first. The vibrancy of the colour makes the daunting part of starting so alive. I like the way you use chalk as I always used pencil and the way you then use paint to roughly make the foundation of your painting. Thank you for sharing.😊 I wish I had a studio like your’s 😢

Just found you thru Shepherds Fashion’s today and watched you model there! I have subscribed to your channel. I am also an artist and look forward to your videos. I don’t do any other social media other than You Tube and Pinterest so I am so glad you are here on You Tube! My name is Shelley and I’m currently down in the Houston area.

How lovely to find you! What an inspiration to a tired directionless old artist starting out again. I think the ‘set up’ is all important for artists. Yours is so beautiful. Truly grateful that you have made this channel. I love you tube!

I didn't feel so bad knowing that I'm not the only one who can't keep a neat art room. Yes it gets cleaned, but then it gets messy again. Thank you I love the theory of paint the canvas red.

@@juliaveenstraartistme too 🤪… love your drawer set up. Have you tried Atelier Interactive Artist paint? It is fab as you can alway open it with un locking formula and a fine water spray to blend. The most pigmented acrylics ever… Aussie made. Thanks for your kind sharing.. funny I have never thought the white of the canvas is scary… white helps the glow as it comes through and can enhance acrylics too. Cheers

Hi just discovered you through Janey at dig, plant, water, repeat. I just love her. What an inspiration you are, thank you for sharing. I’m an artist and love to garden also. I have a question, what are the type brushes you use? Keep painting your fabulous!

I use synthetic. I have brand favourites and then they stop selling them! It’s been frustrating actually!

That blob of paint on the end of the tube should just pull off. I have a jar I’m filling with these dried acrylic blobs that I have on the shelf in my studio.
As for content I would love to see how you use all those colours. Do you not mix any colours specific for the painting. I think I saw an interview where you said you pick up several colours at once and let them mix on the canvas. This idea interests me but I’m not quite sure how to select the colours to put on the same brush.
Thanks for showing your studio, I enjoy your videos.

I would love to see how you make decisions on composing your paintings. Is is done in the photograph or do you make adjustments when you take it to drawing. Are there any rules you use in making composition decisions. Most importantly is there anything you avoid based on lessons learned.

Such a great video, love your process and seeing into your mind. I’m wondering if you could do a video about how to see a picture of say a tree and understand how to paint it. I’m so stumped how to go from seeing a pine tree and then how to turn it into a picture on canvas or paper. I know it’s something to do with shapes but i can’t see that yet. Thank you

What kind of red paint do you use to paint your canvases? Is it just a red acrylic? Is it a cadmium? Love your loose style!😘❤🙏🏻✨

I just discovered your videos on RUclips and am enjoying them very much. Love the red primed canvas idea, I'm not a landscape painter but I will have to try priming my canvas with the complement of the still life I have set up. Makes sense to me. My question is about the stay wet palette, I also have one but it seems to be great for growing mold! I end up throwing away paint because I'm not sure it's a good idea to use paint with mold in it. Do you ever have that problem and if so what do you do about it?

    • @juliaveenstraartist
      @juliaveenstraartist  Год назад +1

Thank you Bonnie! I paint so much that the paint doesn’t have time to mold. But I also rinse the foam with some bleach to avoid that.

@bonniejoberg I use a little hydrogen peroxide in the palette under the sponge. Prevents mold!

I love your vibrant colors. Do you find that your pallet is all watery the next day in the Masterson pallet keeper? I spritz it after I finish painting and put the lid on and wonder if maybe I shouldn't?
