Hey Julia, thank you for your commitment to artists. Think I'm up to 13 pieces sold via Square Foot. It's been a pleasure to take part in them, and I look forward to participating in many more to come.
Hey Julia... your paintings are amazings... nice bright & cheerful... & what an amazing story too ! I am an artist myself & would like to know if I could participate in any of your shows... I would be delighted to.
❤❤ QUESTION...SUGGESTION❤❤..I am shopping for stretched canvas to try some 12x12s. There are so many brands and combinations of canvas ozs priming...etc. I would love se direction in this area. Especially when I am on a budget. What is the most acceptable. Also some information on cradle boards is appreciated. ❤❤❤love your art and expertise.
You are an inspiration Julia. I love your style. Your smile and personality are so wonderful. I devoted my life to highend interior design. Eveything was technical and precise. I LOVE art. I am trying my best to open up and learn abstract. Im even experimenting with encaustic and cold wax. Im 77 Julia. Where do i go from here?🤣🤣🤣Thank you 1,000 times for your videos. Love your books as well.
@ Thank you Julia I think I will, I was thinking about taking on a new gallery this year but I think I would prefer to be apart of another artists event sounds great to me 👍
Your channel just popped up and I am so curious to know why you put that shiny clear coat on the art. Is this what everyone does for the type of paint you use?
I signed up and will definitely be at the show. I'm always amazed by you and your generous sharing of all your processes whether in your studio, gallery and now with the 12x12 show. Question: What percentage of the price do the artists receive?
It all starts somewhere. I started my show in my own studio and built it all by myself for years! We had lines ups and sold lots! Eventually I hired my team. Then they became my partners in this. I don’t pay them. We built it! Start something and build it. You take steps forward.
Greetings from Los Angeles, Julia. Love your work. I can always tell the Canadian artist by their sky and their horizons. They're so different from us here, because we're at a different latitude than you. It's a good tell. Congratulations on your success. Have you tried other formats, such as 6x6 or framed prints? Curious
Am I ever glad you came on my feed and thankful that you just happen to be in the same city I just moved to. I am a brand new artist with zero formal training who does something different to the paintings which no other artist to date does. I add a proven backing to the painting which creates healthy energy for the body, mind and all life close to it. These probably won't be eligible for your show as they are different and might stand out too much however be that as it may, I would really love to possibly get together with you, pick your seasoned artist's brain and perhaps share with you what I am working on as once it takes hold, it will help so many. I also have a miracle painting on my hands...truly. And I want to market it to the max and take it to a high end auction, there is a specific plan to help people with the funds the sale generates. Soon I will be having it professionally videographed and maybe even start the process to have it officially recognized by the church, it's that kind of inexplicable miracle. I hope my words arent a turn off to you as I am having a hard time getting responses from people, I guess they think I'm a crackpot or something yet my words are true.
Hi! I love your concept! Several years ago I volunteered at the local hospital then had my granddaughter also volunteer in the children's wing. She was 13 at then. At the time, I had an energy healing practice and my granddaughter granddaughter had taken my classes. On off time we occasionally dabbled in art. It was her idea to start sending healing energy to our paintings and donate them to the hospital. We put a little Tory on the back on how just enjoying the painting brought the patient healing energy and explained that energy follows thought and the painting was created to help the patient heal. The loved them!!! Especially in the children's wing. We donate them and a lot of the parents took them home when their child was released. It was very gratifying!
@@caseycorrtee How entirely lovely, thank you so much for sharing, I love what you are doing as well. The concept I'm sharing is not exactly mine however as it is based on the exhaustive and unappreciated work of Dr Wilhelm Reich. The specific design of the pieces actually draw into them stale, harmful energies and then like a pinball machine effect, bounce the energy between organic and inorganic elements thus shaking and changing the energy into a life enhancing health energy. Dr Reich in his time was so successful at healing people that the doctors back then placed pressure on the U.S. govt to shut him down. He was thrown into jail and mysteriously died there, his books burned and his work locked up for 50 years. That speaks volumes.
@@caseycorrtee You could easily add what I call Crystalight to the back of your paintings and have a double whammy healing impact. Also these pieces if placed on an area in the body experiencing pain, will actually work to draw out the harmful energy causing the pain in less than 10 mins for most cases, I use disks that I make for this purpose, beautiful to look at and oh so healing. They are not expensive to make and something the patients can hold in their hands while in hospital. I have examples of them in video on my channel. They are so helpful for electromagnetic pollution which many are now sensitive too as well.
What is the brand of varnish you use ? I’m a Port Hope artist who is very interested in placing my art into your show . I also paint animals….what category would that fall into.
Realistically, How long did it take you to make , even $100000.00? Not 1 million! If they are taking 30%of your $300 minus additional cost of shipping and packaging and taxes that leaves you approximately $140 per sale . You have to paint /sell 7143 paintings to make 1 million dollars. And that doesn’t include the ones that were not accepted into the show. I think 1 million dollars is a bit misleading to the viewers ! Something more realistic is $100000.00, that’s only 714 paintings/ sales!
Realistically there are always costs associated with sales. And in my life time I have sold countless paintings. Qualifying my statement. Thanks for chiming in! Artists definitely need to count all the costs.
It's just my opinion, but I think this video is a lie. Nobody is going to pay $300 for a 12"x12" painting from an unknown amateur painter. Certainly not a million dollars worth.
Why comment on an art video for art you do not like? You realize art is subjective and each person has completely different tastes. That’s why we don’t all buy the same art, decorate exactly the same, wear the same clothes, listen to the same music, watch the same movies, or read the same books. Imagine such a sad world where only one style in each genre was available?
Julia, you are brilliant!! Such an inspiration! As soon as I saw your work, I was stunned- you have your own unique style-. It is vibrant and joyful-- and distinctive!!! Three elements which I believe add to your success! And to be sharing with other artists- I'm amazed. I am watching your process and hoping aI can learn and can gain enough skills to join you. Mostly, a Big THANK YOU, and God Bless You!! Wow!
Thank you Julia for sharing your successful journey of the Square Foot Show. Love it❤️

Really inspiring… Do you sign your work after you varnish? How do you sign it?… and do you add varnish on top of the signature then or no?
I sign and then varnish!
@@juliaveenstraartistok. That’s what I thought. I was just confused because I don’t see your signature on these ones that you are varnishing.
Such a great event! I’ve applied!
Wonderful! I will look for your application!
Do u think it helped extending the sale for a day?
We did it because one of our graphics had an extended date.
This is wonderful I would love to join but I’m literally on the other side of the world in New Zealand happy to post hehe

How are you using that liquitex top coat without getting brush marks? Your art is beautiful btw.
It seems to self level!
I signed up and will definitely be at the show. I'm always amazed by you and your generous sharing of all your processes whether in your studio, gallery and now with the 12x12 show. Question: What percentage of the price do the artists receive?
They receive 60 percent!
Wow, just found you and I applied!
I love this idea.
It is so neat!
Can artists from Australia join?
Yes. Shipping may cost a little more for you.
Of course I was interested in how you did this, but when I heard you have a 'team' I was so disheartened. Lone artist here, no budget for help.

This is well presented art and affordable for the masses. It's just not my style of art but it's great it is doing well.
You don’t have to start with a million in sales. Start somewhere
Same same , milk is 11$. I can’t afford paint , let alone a team ,but great advice …wonderful to see success …..wonderful. Bravo.
