You could also consider Hyperion 2 for trainer and speed sessions, Hyperion 2 Max for long runs and maybe recovery runs and Hyperion Elite 4 (PB) for races as a valid rotation. Brooks seems to have a solid lineup to pick from.
I am using that lineup, but use the Hyperion 2 for easy/steady runs, Hyperion 2 Max for long and recovery, and I love the Hyperion Elite 4 for speed sessions. Really looking forward to the HE PB for my spring marathon. This lineup reminds me of the old pure connects that I ran my best marathon in.
Big fan of the Hyperion 2, and 2 runners testing v3 tell me it’s already their favorite shoe ever! I also enjoy the Hyperion Max 2 and worry v3 might be too high stack😮 but I’m excited about the Elite 5 potential for being my next marathon shoe. I’ll be curious to try the 4 PB too.
I absolutely feel the zame way about Brooks. I am glad they finally catching up. I am not ready to buy again Brooks. Too many years went by...in order to get an upgrade.
@@PennyMan123They had some great shoes around the time I started running, before the big innovations in all brands. The Pure line was outstanding for their time.
@@PennyMan123Before the running shoe and super shoe explosion, back when I had just gotten into running (around 2012 and for a few years ongoing) Brooks had its “Pure” line, and they were some of the best shoes on the market at that time.
@@PennyMan123They also came up with that wild prototype Aurora shoe which was pretty amazing--if only they’d tweaked it just a little-mostly the upper-it could have been a terrific plate-less race shoe good up to a marathon IMO. I had it and it was a blast to run in.
I'm fed up like everyone else. Ghost Max/ Ghost Max 2/..Glycerin Max..Glycerin gts..Glycerin 21.. glycerin Stealhfit Changing faster than the cellphones..so I choose to buy nothing
@@lewickerman I didn’t say I liked the price lol, it’ll probably be another let down. Yes, it’ll better since it’s gonna have peba foam but probably not near as good as the Alphafly for that price.
Not sure I agree with you on this being a heel strikers shoe. I tried the Hyperion max, Hyperion max 2, elite v3 and I landed right on the heel bevel which was really jarring as I was pitched backwards sometimes. If they smoothed out that heel bevel I’d be back in a flash
I am still on the original Hyperion Tempo as I bought 7 pairs before Brooks "improved" it. Not that I don't trust Brooks even though they ruin or discontinue every originally good fast shoe they make. Usually by making it into a pillowy 10 pound mess.
With Houston being a Brooks sponsored race, it’d be cool if they had a few pairs of these floating around at the expo. But that’s probably wishful thinking.
I am a new follower and I love your reviews, thank you for doing this! I was wondering if you have any input of the Puma voyage nitro 3 gtx or regular version for trail running? Thank you again!
Thanks so much for the review as always. How would you compare this to the Endorphin Pro 4? I'm just curious as I've found that shoe to be firm, flat, and less enjoyable in the mid/forefoot compared to the 3.
Hm I still feel weird about it. I got the elite 4 eva for 160 bucks, cant complain about it for that price. But in the other hand if I would ve known that the peba versions comes that early I wouldnt have purchased the Eva version in the first place. So it gets a really bitter taste :/ The elite 4 eva feels indeed more like a speedy trainer
For a while, I was super annoyed about the release scheduling (and Brooks pretty much always botches the update schedule for this shoe). But then I realized that, with a February release date, it will have been about 12 months from release to release. But $160 for the Hyperion Elite 4 isn’t bad
Totally disagree with your review in that they are suited for heel strikers. Ran in them this morning and they are similar in feel to the Puma Deviate Nitro Elite 3 so if you like that shoe then you will like this shoe but the Brooks is more accommodating to wider feet. It's a more comfortable option. Brooks are on a winner with this one and I am looking forward to seeing how they improve upon it with the Elite 5 in July.
Nice colorway for Boston maybe but I still can't see Brooks competing fully with the other top tier marathon race day shoes just yet. For $250, I can pay the same $$$ or add a few more $$$ and get a guaranteed winner. And, I'll say IF I was going to go for a Brooks, I'd just wait until the next shoe comes in 6 months. Brooks continues on the path of strange and confusing releases!!! LOL
Never been a fan of Brooks, had a pair a few years back, was fast, but I swear I got injured from using it. Much better brands around, such as Asics, Saucony and Adidas.
another great vid Kofuzi. hope everyone has a great day, enjoy your run all!

My thoughts exactly…
I am a fan of Hyperion 2 for fast days and also dreadmills when necessary

HM2 Max is not for recovery, its made for speed runs, to me its also faster then the normal hyperion

Excited for hyperion elite 5! Let's go! 🔥
It looks very very good, if it runs nearly as good as it looks I'm sold.
Thank you Mike.
Brooks getting better!!
😍😍😍😍 - looking forward to getting some next month! 🙌🏻
I absolutely feel the zame way about Brooks. I am glad they finally catching up. I am not ready to buy again Brooks. Too many years went by...in order to get an upgrade.
Will definitely be picking this up for workouts.
Brooks coming back 🙌🏼
Or for the first time 😂

so Brooks gonna release the Hyperion Elite 4 PB and Hyperion Elite 5 in the space of 6 months
Brooks has a long history of confusing/infuriating release schedules for the Hyperion Elite
The elite 5 is gonna cost $275 so at least the 4 PB is cheaper at $250

Wonderful review!!!!
Would love to know which shoe you find more stable....this one or the Adidas Adizero Pro 4??
I was wondering how this compares to the Puma equivalent. Seem similar at a glance.
Or Peanut Butter😎
PB also stands for Peanut Butter
No need for another carbon shoe atm, will maybe give version 5 of this shoe a go whenits released in the summer !
What don't y'all complain about.

I’m waiting for a Hyperion tempo to come out. The only brooks shoe you need.
You can try Hyperion 2 GTS / or non GTS. They are the successors.
@ I will look into that thank you.

I stocked up on 2 late manufactured on-sale Endo Pro 3’s for my marathons this year for that reason
Picked this color way up at the Houston expo because they matched my team jersey. Ran a PB yesterday in them 🔥🔥
2nd! Curious about the Elite 5.

For me they generally make the best uppers in the business on all their premium models and especially the Hyperion line.
It can stand for 3 things. PB stands for populist bet. 6th time's a charm?
The laces remind me of Nike supershoe laces

Seems like brooks is still sleeping in the super shoe category. Better shoe than last version, nothing compared to adidas Nike puma etc.
Still wish you'd been given a HTM2. Have heard so many great things about that shoe and have been tempted.
I have a pair. I discussed it in this video.
I enjoy that shoe for long runs, especially those with GMP miles. I rotate it with the Hoka Mach 6 which is softer.
If only they'd make a wide......
paid half price for Hyperion Elite 4's, i wish i never bought them. not even worth half price. they are just sitting there
So basically once again they have failed.
I hate Brooks, so meh? The Hyundai of sneakers. Nursing homes are full of Brooks ghost.
