I am glad I came across your channel while searching for the Pergear memory card review. I got a good price on the 260 MB CFExpress Type A cards, with your discount coupon. I recently got the Sony a7Rm5 and I was in a dilemma regarding which cards (SDXC V90, or CFExpress), and your video was very informative and well laid out explaining why to choose the CFExpress cards. Cheers!
Love your videos. I just found your channel and already subscribed! I would love a video about your in-camera settings. I just bought the FX6 and I find it a little bit hard to find a good video about the settings on youtube.
Hi Ronald, awesome video, are you still using these as your main cards or have you found a better alternative? I’m looking for my first type a cards and upon research some users claim the cards died and corrupted within the first few months of use. Keen to see your personal experience after a year
Hi! Yes I‘m still using the Pergear cards, they work great and I really can’t see a reason why I should spend so much more money on Sony cards. The transfer speed of cf express is phenomenal so I don’t use SD cards anymore.
@@RonaldKasper thanks for your thoughts! I’m surprised that some reviews on RUclips claim the write speeds are as slow as sd cards which doesn’t seem consistent with advertised speeds
How many Minutes do you get on the highest settings on the Sony! I have the A7S3 and I also have the A7IV. Just wondering how many minutes you'd get on the 260GB card? Thanks!
@@RonaldKasper So basically around 20 min. But then again who shoots 20 min worth of 120 fps. I understand if you use it for a quick shot to ad a frame to the clip but thats it! Very informative. Danke Btw! >;))
I have some from Delkin. However, this one from Pergear looks to be the answer, my only question is why it is so cheap compared with every other brand?, it is at least 60% cheaper.
Hi! In fact I don‘t know why other cards are so expensive. It‘s no rocket science to build a cfexpress card, I guess pergear just wants to get in the market with their product and starts offering their products much cheaper than the rest.
All CFExpress manufacturers indicate VPG (Video Performance Guarantee) on the card, which can be 200 or 400. And only Pergear does not write this value. Even the cheapest cards indicate this value. I would also like to note that the reading speed is not particularly important for videographers. The writing speed is more important, which is higher for Sony than for Pergear.
I don’t know what you mean. Pergear has VPG200 which can be seen on the product page: www.pergear.com/products/cfexpress-type-a-1tb/?ref=dKdKQ I explained what read and write speeds are for in the video, but for me the read speed is quite important as well when I want to transfer hundreds of gigabytes on my computer.
Well i you shoot a quick series of photos in raw (keep the shutter pressed) a cfexpress card is a good idea as well. From the data rate you need to write on the card, it’s comparable to shooting in the highest video bitrate.
this guy channel for sure got pay to promote this Pergear card. you can't wiki or google what country it come from. but via my investigation it's prime amazon also mean china. this guys getting paid. but prob not bad to use, cheap , prob not gonna last very long. Angle bird is from Europe good purchase. but in Canada it's 700$ plus tax
Hi!

All this is fine... But it's All about sustained recording over and over and oooover again! For SoMe reason I need more convincing to use other than angelbird and sony.
I heard of the brand before; why so cheap? In some cases is less money than a v90 SD card? I don't need it for writing, my need is for reading from it, I do have a few a7mk4s.
That was exactly the reason I bought it for as well: Read speed. It took forever to transfer 4 SD cards to the computer, now with the cfexpress cards it‘s unbelievably fast. And I don‘t have to drink so much coffee while I wait until it‘s done ;-)
I purchased 2x 260gb cards. They've been giving me overheating issues when used on longer clips. Short bursts were fine but then recording interviews/longer takes I got overheating problems. Only had this issue with these cards..
I can't wikipedia Pergear company or google it. I just want to know which country it comes from and nothing show on google and wiki. I do not want a card from Chinese company

I have 2 of these cards, use them with FX6 (record simultaneous for safety) they’ve been wonderful.
Yes I do this as well. Buying two of these and recording simultaneously is cheaper than buying just one Sony Tough card.
Just ordered a 520gb card with your code. Going on an international trip and don't want to run out of storage.
