Forging a CROSSBOW out of Rusted Coil SPRING
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 10 сен 2021
- Well, This Crossbow took me two month to make and this was not easy to make it such perfect. A lot of people asked me to make Crossbow so i tried to make most perfect Crossbow that i can.
Overall Length: 16 Inches
Total Weight: 5 pounds
All the Processes are below of making this beautiful Crossbow:
Forging:
It took me almost two weeks to prepare and hand forge Coil Spring piece into a long Steel Strip and this was my hardest forging ever. I don't have any serious equipment so all the forging as well as welding i did with my hands and turned a spring piece into an almost 21 inch straight metal strip.
Grinding:
I make most of grindings with my professional Belt grinder and turned the strip into a beautiful workpiece. I also
did a lot of hand sanding with a help of abrasive to remove the edges and almost all the roughness of the blank.
v. I made grooves on Limb with the help of round file.
v. Hand Sanded the surface to remove roughness.
v. The Flight Groove made with a help of rotary grinder.
Hardness:
There is a proven and professional way to harden a
Crossbow limb and that is
Heating the whole surface placed into a Fire evenly to a critical temperature. After that Quench the heated detail in oil. To make such responsible part of the device I had to build a Big Furnace to temper steel. Tempering is the best way to increase Toughness of the crossbow.
String:
This piece traditionaly made of dacron fabric twisted into a single cord but we can also make it by use steel cable squeezed with copper clamps at the end of the loop. The purpose of crossbowstring is to join the two ends and launch the bolt.
Trigger Mechanism:
Totally consists of 15 parts.
v. Trigger: Purpose is to charge or shoot when pressed, I make it out of high carbon materials, simple but reliable.
v. Riser: Tightly holds a limb and is a base for attaching a Stirrup.
v. Guard: Protects a trigger and is made by method of Aluminum casting.
Handle:
A piece of varnished oak wood would be nice for the handle.

Money can't pay this , obviously you love your work . Excellent!
Crossbows were first used in the Medieval Era to replace the Bow. They were so successful that the Church even considered to ban Crossbows
If the church banned guns, America would declare war on the Catholic Church😂
@@meemmeem9565 some of us have been foaming at the mouth for a chance to go to war against the catholic church
pov: some random blacksmith in 1550
Sure because they had suspension springs just like this one in their cars in 1550

@@hecb87 they did have carriages but i don't know if they had leaf springs or not...
SUPER COOL!
Finally someone show technic making furnace
TY very much :D
Mate, I just have to say, hands down, that this homemade crossbow would have to be the best one I’ve seen yet on RUclips 😎👍
Friggen awesome!
You say that this man has some talent would be a serious understatement. That crossbow looks better then you can buy at a store. Well done sir.
True. Well done Sir.
Thank you!
@@almostperfectrestoration Can you tell me where I can buy the trigger parts to make one for myself? Thanks

in midevil times you would definitely be my master blacksmith making armor and weapons of the best quality in the world that is a peace of art
Yea, he would be the royal master blacksmith.
Great construction and also great shooting with well planned and composed frames. The whole thing shows great quality and without useless words or annoying music. Bravo and thank you.
music gives headache
Rất tuyệt có ban ko
That's got to be one of the best if not the best home made crossbows I've ever seen
You are a genius. It's that simple.
I just love how some of these videos make look everything look so simple and easy...no mistakes or do overs LOL. I’m not saying they don’t get the job done right, but it would be interesting to see bloopers once in awhile. I worked with metal, wood, concrete for almost my entire life and just looks funny sometimes the way they make everything look so easy. Anyways I love the and enjoy the videos, and most definitely I always love and appreciate good workmanship.
Unbelievable talent, absolute respect and admiration to you.
Alternative title: Operating deadly crossbows with bare feet :D Awesome work!
Great job! You have done what I have wanted to do but have not gotten to it. You taught me how simple the trigger mechanism is and you did an outstanding job on every aspect. I enjoy creating things with my hands, it brings me much pleasure too.
😅😅😅
This guy was born from 70's going back if not your parents are from the real earth
hi! I also had my first survival in the forest. I built a shelter and spent the night. It was great. Thank you for your motivation!
Ювелирная работа и нереальная выдержка! Я еще на стадии первой ковки бросил бы эту затею)))
I personally was surprised by such a good fit of all the parts when it came to assembly and all this was done using most basic of tools. Great work, thank you for sharing!

Very nice new belt grinder...
Of course, The Crossbow is so beautiful...and looks deadly at the same time.
Been trying to build something like this since i was a kid, never had the right tools or maybe enough talent. Finally bought one some years ago. Your trigger mechanism is so much simple and practical than the one thought. Super build. 👍
Thank you mate
Atyryy
Yeah, also the knowledge with quenching and hardening so you do not make the final product too brittle or too soft.

Lovely to watch this gentleman’s talent, and the master piece ,he produces . 👍
Totally, utterly blown away by this stunning and well built crossbow. I salute you 👏
I've never seen so many perfectly manufactured parts great job man.
In a zombie apocalypse I'd want this guy on my team
Quelle maîtrise! Bravo! Un travail merveilleux!
Wow that's a very master piece you made off im very impressed
Friend, you have golden hands!
Hammering spring steel like that by hand is a LOT of work, very impressive!
This is one of the most beautiful things I´ve ever seen. You sir have a skill and knowledge most of us
ordinary deadly would dream to have. I can honestly say that I do wish that I had this knowledge. I salute you :).
I used an old car leaf spring to make crossbows (already hi tensile spring.) Friends sometimes used the springs from the old fashioned high prams ... Your bow is far more sophisticated and very interesting to observe ... Thanks I have subscribed to your channel ...
It absolutely blows my mind people can not only do this by hand just by eyeballing it, but produce something this nice
Great job 👏 You handled different techniques tremendously well
Lindo trabalho 😊 parabéns 👏🎊

Amazing forethought & craftsmanship ! Bravo!!! Well done Sir.
Beautiful, excellent craftsmanship, and made from scrap. Nice!
I love your attention to detail, it seems like very hard work but at the same time very rewarding, I'll try to do something as well because I have all the tools needed but never did anything technical. Do you make your own plans or do you take them off the internet? How much did it take to make the actual crossbow?
You always do great work and I know it takes a lot of time and effort to get good at such a thing
Abilidade sem retoques . PERFEITO
*U r so talented, no one believe it's a homemade crossbow. I really appreciate it ❤*

Согласен!
18:55 - how to shoot your foot 101. Bow should be secured in stock slightly upwards, to prevent excessive cable wear on the rails (despite comparatively light bow weight) .
@Dave Muckinboots He still has his foot in the stirrup when loading the arrow.
You, Sir, are an Artiste!!!!!!
Wow, this is phenomenal!
Super work. Be careful when you charge it. Don’t put your foot there when you charge arrows. Safety first.
Thought the same. Way to lose some toes.
I like to do projects myself and I have to say, yours is highly impressive
True material, thank you for your demonstration. 👍🇩🇿
One of the most beatiful crossbow that I've ever seen! You could make a lever to cock it!
