While I admit DOTM Megs is a great toy, his limited amount of colours make the toy look and feel soapy. But positively I love the toy for the detail and articulation it has, also he really does need a legends version. A toy that awesome deserves to be much bigger, Awesome as always Thew.

But today, i went to my local wal-mart, bought this megatron, voyager prime and voyager sentinel prime. They are ALL boss figures and loads of fun.
generally the scale for DOTM for all classes of figures has been moved down the bed a little. you put say a DOTM voyager next to a ROTF voyager and they are all smaller, same for the deluxes too, and of course there is that new "cyberverse" class which is sort of somewhere between scout and legends. Megs is probably going to look ok next to other DOTM figures, but forget it against any other range.
God i love this figure but mine has this massive issue where the hip joint thing wont push up fully so when he transforms those grey panels below the side truck windows don't clip in on both sides at once. Which really suck cause i love him.
A neat thing about DotM Megs is you can 'clip' the Human Alliance Basic Backfire's automatic rifles unto Megatron's fingers, thus giving him neat submachineguns. And staring from those, it should be easy enough to mod one of those into a shotgun.

Funnily enough, that is perfect scale with Long Haul, as he is a giant dump truck used is strip mining operations. If you google "giant dump truck" you will see some comparison shots with regular cars and people. :-)
Hey there Thew, I like the look of this guy...one of the few things I enjoyed in the movie is Megatron's re-design, but...I just can't bring myself to do it. In the package, he doesn't look finished; it's the lack of paint apps. All of that bare plastic turns me off something fierce. Still, the figure looks well designed. If only they'd given him a brush of metal and rust, he'd have been something rather special. Great review! George

I finally got the KO oversized version, because I never had the voyager and I felt it'd be cool to have a creepy truck Megatron the size of the video game final boss. I definitely think the KO is one exception where it's okay that it doesn't match the rest of the leaderclass figures scale-wise, because he's a BEASTLY Megatron. I've had him for 2 days, I'm not sure if I'll be painting him at all, but I gave him new hands and I'll add some chains and a better gun at some point. Get the KO. ^_^
I consider all the voyagers so far as deluxes as they are roughly the size at least too me the size of previous deluxes and doesn't help that the deluxes are smaller aswell
yeah, increases in material costs will do that, and a sizable chunk of the budget always got gobbled up by the mechtech wepun. But it was a gimmick that was supposed to be appealing to children.

yeah the voyagersd have been getting smaller, as well as the prices, I remember when they were $30 from the first movie, now there $20 I just hope that they come out with a leader DOTM megatron, if they don't I'm goin to hasbro and raise some hell, if they can make a 100 gaint bumbles bee;s I think they can squeez out one leader megs, awesome review as always!!.
I only have 2 megatrons.The leader from combiner wars, and this DOTM. Personally I prefer the DOTM one mainly because the articulation is better, and tankformers are sooo typical. Making his arms massive and legs whimpy. When G1 Megatron was just bulky. I think TF Prime has one of the best Megatrons if I could find him and give him an upgrade kit for his weapon. But I got combiner wars on display, and DOTM in hiding at the moment. XD
I know no ones probably going to see this comment, but you are aware his fusion cannon can be locked in place with the grabby claws out? it makes the fusion cannon look a lot cooler and way more threatening as a gun type weapon.
lol at "oh my god!! what happened to your face!!!" comment. but seriously, hasbro did a fine job of making the toy lookin movie accurate...even the head...if you had watched the movie, you'd understand why...in the movie, Megatron's head is even more grotesque...with its serious bug-robot-things running around its brain (yes, his head is totally exposed)...or atleast its what it looks like to me...

If theres one thing, he's almost perfectly to scale in both modes with deluxe Optimus.

Fun fact: Megatron actually was rebuilt from the parts of scrapper drone, Srapmetal when Scalpel said "Need Parts Kill Ze little one!"
Also fun fact, as they're swimming back up to the surface, Scrapmetal can be seen with them.
Seeing how the last review of this guy I saw had a LOT of mistakes in transforming him, it's really nice to see him done correctly XD

Yep, I believe that's true as well. Just look at the cockpit/driver seat on LongHaul's. It's almost the same size as Megatron's.

Yeah, I think the lack of color is what's held me back from getting this one. The size is also something of an issue
I hope they eventually do make a Leader Class version, the only thing preventing me from buying the Voyager is really the size of it.

when you have the aoe optimus voyager (he comes with megatron's shotgun )you can give megatron his appropriate weapon.

It seems like the DOTM figures are in a scale of their own. Everything is generally smaller.
I consider all the voyagers so far as deluxes as they are roughly the size at least too me the size of previous deluxes and doesn't help that the deluxes are smaller aswell

His mechtech weapon can be locked in place by extending it then twisting the ladder. This way his "fusion cannon" is more proper looking.
