One Year Skate Progression! (I land Tre flips, inward heel, etc.)

- I thought it would be fun to make a video of my progression on skateboarding in a year from scratch. I had to shorten the video by a lot because I filmed so much stuff. It was fun skating this past year, filming, and editing my clips. I decided to make this video because this is what I think a skate progression video should be set up like. (With dates, times, etc.)
There is no footage of me skating at skateparks or anything like that because I wanted to do kind of a street edition. (featuring my garage)
Even though no one will probably see this, this is a place where I can put my video out somewhere and leave my mark. This video took me about a week to finish because of how hard it is to use adobe premiere. I spent unnecessary 30-40 hours editing this video. Lol, so might as well upload it.
It has also been the best year of my life, which is almost kinda sad, but not really. I'm glad I get a chance to document a big chunk of it, which feels great to say.
Thank you if you really did watch the whole video and read this description.
My Insta: wonton_prod...
Tricks I landed but did not get a chance to film/put it in because of time:
Nollie, nollie front shuv, nollie shuv, bigspin, fakie pop shuv, fakie shuv, fakie front shuv, power slide, backside powerslide, switch ollie up curb (it was really bad anyways)
Here are the songs that were used in the video for anyone who wants to know:
She Was Only but a Dreamer-Vyn
Holding Your Hand-potsu
CAN'T GET OVER YOU (feat. Clams Casino)- Joji (instrumental)
In your arms- Saib
Cupid- Jardi (instrumental)
For the perfectionist who say I have ZERO board control do need to board control to have fun skating? Why would I skate just to perfect everything? Can I not skate just to have fun? Am I only allowed to skate to try to go pro? I've also only be skating for a year so I won't be the best skater in existence and I won't be able to land every trick perfect like you robots who think skateboarding is all about landing the trick perfect and with style. Am I not allow to just land a trick and call it a day? I don't like how people are saying that there is a certain way to skate. Because there isn't. I just want to have fun and land tricks. I'm not trying to be the next Nyjah, Chris Joslin, Luan, or anyone like that. I want to have fun and that's a better goal than skating the way everyone wants you to skate so that all your tricks will be perfect. There shouldn't be a way to skate, because remember I haven't lived my whole life skating every minute and every second so I can't be like any of the greats which is why I'm choosing to have fun and land the tricks I want to land. Rather than stick to one trick and take a whole year to perfect it. Don't be salty when I don't land tricks perfect because I'm not the best and I'm not striving to be the best.
Loved the video, I just started skating, and I started skating for fun like you said not to go pro, people need to sit back and chill out a little. 🤟🏼👍 Great video man
Snow Plays Thank you! Means a lot
Well said, i feel the same because people think im a poser when im just having fun
pRma People don't want new skaters to have fun so they try to degrade them and it annoying

@@wontonproductions wojoo a verified person saw this, its really blowing up.
I like how you just kept going and its really impressive
Just a question what size of deck did you use? And wheels? I need to buy a new one bc mine is really old and I'm a beginner so I dont know
Gacha Reader Yeah ahha. Well it depends since i does weigh that much and i'm 5'7 i can skate a size eight deck. If you weigh less or weigh more you can go down on deck size. For wheels if you're skating street try to stay between 52mm and 55mm.
@@wontonproductions thank you, I appreciate it.

I know I'm kind of late to this party but this was incredibly refreshing to see. I've been skating for over 15 years and something about watching your progression took me right back to when I started skating. I could tell there was a moment where tricks just started to click and seeing that in someone else reignites an old fire. Also you have me jealous with that inward heel. Twas a beauty!
Thanks ahha
You’re good af dude! I made it through the whole video! I just recently picked skating back up after 7 years and you’re video was just what I needed for some encouragement! I liked and subscribed 💪
Dude keep skating, you're clearly naturally gifted at it. As someone who's been skating for over 10 years now, I've seen a lot of skaters, and the ones who can pick up new tricks quickly have the highest potential to get really good. Just keep working on the ones you know (particularly, in getting them clean / going faster so you ride away fully when you land) Im hyped to see where your journey with skating takes you. keep at it!

I will be releasing a new video soon about board set up and going over the future and plans I have for this channel. Some people are asking me if I will make future videos and I think that I might. I'll try my best to go over everything and future plans.
Also if you are having a problem with a basic trick feel free to DM me on my insta @wonton_productions. I'll try my best to help because I know how hard it can be to land a new trick if you don't have anyone helping you.
Also, I tried my best to answer everyone in the comments so if I did not get a chance to answer you I am so sorry.
Anyways thank you so much for everyone who watched the video, commented, liked, and even subbed!

You're doing great, keep up the hard work and perseverance!
It's interesting you learned so many flip tricks before a nose stall, and even the inward heel before the heelflip. Just goes to show, you gotta flow with what's natural to you first and it can take you far
I learned hospital flips super early because it was a natural mistake I was making on kickflips. So I learned kickflips but I kept the mistake in my head as something i can build from later. Even pros each have tricks in their bag that are uncomfortable to them and easy for others. Looks like your almost ready to bust your first special trick, now that your meter is full bro!
I started skateboarding 2 weeks ago and watching this video is very encouraging. I have terrible balance when it comes to skateboarding and can't even do an ollie while holding onto a fence. You motivated me to keep going and I plan to have my first kickflip by the summer. Its incredible seeing your confidence on top of the board build up throughout the months and you developing your own signature swagger. Keep fucking going man. Im also going to start filming myself doing tricks so I can improve.

Massive Respect, i like the way you monitor exactly how long it takes you to land a trick ... days, hours, minutes and even seconds. Thats quite cool, its like you can almost approach skateboarding in an objective way.
Does anyone else think it's ironic that he landed his first kickflip on christmas?

Bro can I just say how proud of you I am. I don’t even know you and this video makes me so pumped. I started skating more seriously in middle school (circa 2005ish) and went all the way through my undergrad in college. Jesus you did all this in one year? I can’t even kickflip at a year and I’ve been trying it for 2 straight months! Shows what skating with friends can do👍
Will Dingley I never learned any trick skating with friends. I just learned them practicing alone. Also in the friend group i've been skating the longest.
Wonton Productions that makes it even cooler, how much did you have to skate to get this good every week?
Will Dingley well i jsut skate whenever i feel like it lol. But usually like two hours a day or less on average. If i'm trying to learn a new trick it could be 3 hours to 4 hours. Sometimes it doesn't take that long to land new tricks though so i don't have to work too hard on it. i just landed most trick pretty fast so i didn't have to put too much time in. I was just really motivated whenever learning new tricks that probably why i learned them a tiny bit faster.
Once you get your first kickflip it gets so much better, after I landed my first kickflip ( took me 7 month every day at least 1 hour 30 minutes) I could do them every 5 min of trying
