In the original, Arthur Tussek would repair up to 160 km/h. Only the inmates wouldn't be doing so well. Anything more than that and the impact would be fatal for any occupant. The collisions at 300 km/h in particular would not be a pleasant sight for the rescuers. You don't want to be either of those. But unfortunately such accidents are sometimes reality. Here happiness is only simulated.
