    Basso Profundo: Vladimir Pasyukov (1944-2011)
Performed by The Male Choir of St. Petersburg under Vadim Afanasiev
Audio remastered by Peder Holman: / gudpeder
A video that highlights the dark sonorous voice of Vladimir Pasyukov.
Pasyukov was a Russian choral bass. His singing voice would be classified as a basso profundo, which means: "deep or exceptionally low bass". This type of voice is amazing because these deep basses are capable of singing lower than typical bass repertoire while maintaining volume and resonance. In this video, Pasyukov sings B1 (≈61.7hz) throughout and chants down to Ab1(≈51.9hz) twice. It's important to note that this voice can sing low without the aid of direct amplification.
There are other profundi in the world, but Pasyukov's distinction lies within the timbre of his voice. He has a big, soft, and dark quality that other bass voices don't always carry consistently.
If you'd like to hear Pasyukov perform as a choral bass, this other video demonstrates the warmth of his sound and is (in my opinion) one of the greatest performances of Chesnokov's Tebe Poem: • "We Praise Thee" (Bett...

Andre the giant had a bigger voice and also bass. To find the loudest and deepest voices you need to look for some of the tallest men on earth

@@dreamthedream8929 It seems quite natural but the only man I can think of that defied that was Zlatopolsky. Reportedly around 5' 9 at most like myself. I don't sing, but typically, longer cords belong to The physiology of the individual and if you look at his neck, you can clearly see he had a very long neck and a large nose so he had not only the resonator but he also had what was hiding behind that big neck of his... To the very least he was a freak.

@@dreamthedream8929 Peter Steele was 6'7" like Kruglov. In many of his songs he went down to B1 effortlessly. Many people believe to this day that he could have trained as oktavist... But he was all about the money.

@@towerofresonance4877 yes the taller you go the less tenors you find. A lot of baritones and basses though. Taller people have biggers hands, feet, vocal cords so it only follows that they would have deeper voices as well. Pau Gasol who is 7 feet tall is an exception like Zlatopolsky who was deep bass which is not common for average height people. Like its not common for people Paus height to be tenors. I dont know the explanation for these exceptions. Andre the gient who was Paus height was a bass and had a very loud speaking voice which comes the the bigger body. Even the tallest recorded person robert wadlow not surprisingly had a low deep voice and he was still just a boy when he died at the age of 22, even then he had a deep voice and wasnt a tenor
