France is poorer without you. But my goodness, I hope you réalise how important these videos of yours are. To speak out, to share, you give hope and inspiration. You allow sadness and bewilderment, glimmers of joy, building of life and home. It is women around the world, like you, who share the good, the bad and the ugly that then allows the rest of us to feel ok, to know we are not alone, and to change the discourse on women’s lot. Thank you.
I have been led by you all. When I talked a few weeks ago about why I was in England for so long, there were so many messages of support and people sharing their own experiences, it feels like a two way street or community, or sharing. I don't really have the words to express what I mean. Anyway, thank you so much, I am just telling my story. You all listening and responding are what make it something. I could never have imagined when I started this channel. I thought I was just going to make stitching tutorials. 😊❤️
I absolutely loved this episode for several reasons: Stella looks so happy and both look like they are settling in well, the beach is beautiful and I love the house tour, and not just because I’m nosy. Primarily, it’s because your ‘aesthetic’ is so comforting and cozy and colorful and I just love it so anytime you share it, it makes me happy. This time in particular though, it reminded me of a statement that I have been mulling over all week. It’s “It’s never too late to build a beautiful life.” and it refers specifically to regretting the years lost living in ‘survival mode’ after trauma, but (I swear I’m not stupid, despite how idiotic this is going to sound) for the life of me, I could not envision what a ‘beautiful life’ would look like. When you were giving the tour of your home, sharing the stories and history of everything, I suddenly realized I was looking at a beautiful life. This is what it looks like, and I’m so inspired. Thank you for sharing. It’s meant more than you can know.
It doesn't sound stupid to me, I have seen the memes etc about building a beautiful life and similar sayings and in some ways, it seems a little intimidating, like it's what you 'should' be doing. I agree, it's difficult to know how to go about it. I think I must thank the Slowstitch ethos that has spilled over into the rest of my life. Trust the process, value materials etc. it's not always easy but it means so much to me that you say you are inspired. Thank you so much for that ❤️
This moved me to prickly eyes and a froggy throat. Life after trauma…how in the world does one envision that much less create it? But somehow we do. Somehow we do…communing with this group, with our Kathryn, IS inspiring. And uplifting. Makes the little things doable and we all know a few little things makes a medium thing makes a big thing. Grateful.
Thank you for reminding us of that quote...and your comments about 'survival mode' after trauma. These days I keep my heart open for all of the little happinesses, like my cats soft purring body on my foot, the first morning cup of tea, a smile from a fellow walker...all sustenance while building a beautiful life.
This was wonderful, I especially loved the tour of your home, you will make beautiful accessories to make your home your own. Stella and Fredfred seem to be very well adjusted. This will be wonderful for you K3n I pray you will be content here in your home by the sea. ( or closer to the sea) 🤗
I admire the way you have the headspace and heartspace to share generously a new life you might not have chosen. Many best wishes to you, you're going to be fine.
I’m 73 and have been single for 23 years, you’re so blessed to having your sweet little fur babies. It’s going to absolutely be a wonderful journey because you are a women of substance . God bless you ♥️
I love your comment and am going to turn that into something for my wall in the flat we've moved into, out of and back into in. The last 10 months.... I hope you won't mind ❤🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
I’m sure you have heard this more than a few times but, I have found myself in the same situation as you at age 82 but mine is because of a death. You have given me something to think about. I think you are very brave and will continue to follow you for more advice and because I think you are very talented and a lovely soul. Thank you!
Hello Mary, I think bereavement comes in many forms and of course we all have our own stories to tell and share. I am so sorry for your loss. You are very welcome here and hopefully we can all support each other ❤️
I am glad it was a good day and I hope the joy evident in Stella on the beach was in your heart too and stays with you. You’re doing great and looking after yourself and your wellbeing is so important. Enjoy the process of working on your home and making it yours, at whatever pace feels right for you. It will be resplendent with your beautiful creativity. Cheers, Christine 💙🧵🪡
Kathryn your new home is just lovely❤ Give yourself time to mourn what is lost, it’s very important. I’ve been a widow since my 40’s and you need time to reflect. Women are strong and resilient, and you are loved by this community. Seeing Stella so happy on the beach was a beautiful thing indeed.❤
Been there , done that, and you are going to be fine, and thrive, as your creative wings take you through. Charming little home. So cozy, and once you have it all the way you want it, I know you will just inspire us with so much creativity as you always do. All the best.
oh Kathryn it's so wonderful to see your face and know that you are safely back in your new home. with your things and with Stella and Fred Fred i love this idea for your new series and look forward to many more. i have been so enjoying the 52 week project and am really appreciating this week's piece about home. your new home looks lovely. thank you for being you. linda from california
Oh,dear, dear Katherine!! I’ve missed some episodes but felt that smth has happened to you… And today you’ve explained everything! My greatest support and full understanding. I’m 69 and single for more than 10 years already… you are creative, strong, skilful, inventive and brave. I’m absolutely sure you’ll not only overcome this pain but will make your place in the world brighter, more active and satisfying, God bless you and all luck to you, Hugs❤
Dear Kathryn, I don't know about a comment, I found myself writing a whole letter to you while I was watching and listening on my phone this morning. I laughed and I cried (secretly). So I went away and did a few other things. This is the abbreviated result! I was very touched by the mixture of candour and reticence in your explanations of the changes in your circumstances, and how you feel about these changes and about your park home. Thank you for showing us the beach, which was lovely in sights and sounds. I almost felt I was there, only my hair was not blowing in my face, and - oh yes, I was sitting at the dining table and holding a bit of stitching. Thank you for showing us your new home, which you have evidently transformed from a dingy, mouldy and empty place into a fresh and clean place that is becoming more and more your home every day. I am so impressed at your DIY skills and how you are just getting on with it all. It was lovely to see how you are arranging your own things and planning more storage solutions. You are so resourceful. I have just discovered a poet I didn't know (thank you BBC Radio 4 again) called Salena Godden. On the radio I heard her poem "Umbilical Cord" (I think) that has a line "the thread that never breaks". Today I googled her and found her poem "Welcome to Hope" in which she writes about "Home is a feeling not a place". This sounds so like you that I am wondering now if these were the words your chose on Monday for your Wonky Home piece when that is finished. (That was Monday so of course I cannot remember). My hope for you is that the home feeling will grow and flourish in your park home. Last comment ( I think): it was lovely to hear you sounding happier again. I know all sorts of feelings must come and go, but thank you for sharing this special footage with us. .
Hello Nina, I don't know Salena Godden I will look her up. I must see if I can get radio 4 through the TV, I think I should be able to. My words last Monday were from Tolkien about Rivendell. I am mostly happier than I have been for a long time, interspersed with moments of slight panic but they can be squashed with some effort. Sorry my response is so disjointed. I have also been sleeping a lot. My granny would have said I must need it. Lots of love ❤️ ps as I write this, I am listening to your sister singing jazz. She kindly sent me a CD. 😉😊
Kathryn, May you be happy in your new home. May it be filled with love, joy and laughter. I'm wishing you nothing but the best in your new life. You've got this! 💪🏼❤️
Thanks for sharing about 10 years ago when my husband was alive we lived in a Park home and very nice it was as well so cosy with a garden. Start to enjoy life again as your furry friends are watching them wrestle was amazing.
Wishing you the best in your new home. It was delightful hearing you laugh at Stella’s play on the beach, and to see all three of you already enjoying your new place. You’re in our thoughts and hearts. 💞
Stay Strong Kathryn we are all here standing shoulder to shoulder with you, women supporting women. Like many of your viewers we are strong independent women who have been there and that second chance at a new life is great. 🎉❤x Love your new home and how you’re making it your own.
You have so much to do and so many wonderful comments to read ... so here's a shorty for you: Hurrah you!! And your little home looks so fresh and cozy. The sea walk was so wonderful! Thank you for sharing with us. 😍Now go unpack a box. 😂
Thank you Kate for the chuckle. 😂 I did 4 boxes today. Every one I flatten feels like a small victory. I sing the Queen song Another One Bites the Dust. 😉❤️
@@k3n.clothtales Yes! Great line! And I want to tell you how you inspired me today. I've been dealing with some very important but horrid paperwork this week and feeling quite overwhelmed by it all. But after watching your video and seeing how lovely you have made your new home, and imagining how very much hard work and determination it required, I felt better equipped to stick to my detested task. I'd think of you and say, "I can do this. " Thank you, Kathryn.
Love the windows that let the light in without effort....that will be a blessing on cloudy, frigid days especially. Your beautiful things make it lovely already!
Congratulations on your cozy new home. I think your roommates approve. As a coastal dweller myself, I can attest that beach walking is healing as well as invigorating. Glad you were willing to share this part of your life change with us.
So lovely to see you with a sparkle in your eye and smile on your face. Thank you for showing us such vulnerability and bravery. You have amazing courage.
What a glorious little home. It may be small, but think of how much less time it will take to clean, giving you more time to play. And , your babies are happy, so that is a giant bonus too. Keep smiling and see what wonderful things are waiting round the corner.
Good for you. I was married for 31 years and all of a sudden it was over. Now I am single and enjoying every minute of life. The first year was difficult but I made it thru because of my daughters and my friends. The only thing I can share with you is be good to yourself. Enjoy your new adventure.
Oh how lovely to have the chance to get to know more of you and your journey as a single woman!❤ I had my heart broken when I was 47 and I have been alone ever since. I am now 75. It has been a long journey, but I have achieved so much in these 27 years . I have been retired for almost 11 years and have loved living the real me without having to present as a professional me. You will come to know yourself and love yourself in ways you have never known before. Today at the beach I bet there were moments when you were happy for no reason at all,(the best kind of happy). I think making these videos will teach us all about what it is to be a magnificent creative woman. Your home is lovely and Stella and Fredfred absolutely delightful. Many blessings to you. Arohanui from me in Aotearoa New Zealand ❤❤❤
Thank you Jan, yes you are absolutely right. I was completely content with the sky and the pebbles crunching underfoot and the waves and seeing Stella so happy 🥰
Kathryn, after watching this video and reading the comments, tears are streaming down my face. There’s not much more I can add to what has already been said. I just want to bundle up every comment and say, “YES!, All the things, right there.” You seem to have become our ambassador of Creativity, Strength and Empowerment. As you mentioned, many of us, myself included in there, have been through the same and we have come out the other side stronger, wiser and honestly, if I dare say, happier. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us all. (The video was too short, lol) As I was watching it, all I wanted to do was help you with everything, as that is what I do and love to do, at the age of a very young 71. (That can’t be right, I’m still 40 something aren’t I ?!) I am Wittering now I think because I/we are getting to know you so well that I want you to know me. I will end this by telling you one physical aspect of myself. I have long white hair like you and I wear it in a twist now, and I absolutely love it. Looking forward to more PHLT and CT.❤
Oh Kathryn, I am cheering you on along the sidelines! As the stories of those who traversed a similar journey before you, offer encouragement and hope, your story will do the same for others. You definitely have a generous heart in sharing your experiences, talent and time. Best of luck!
Kathryn, you are going to manage this new chapter of your life just fine!!! I lost my husband 2 years ago and starting over without him presented challenges that I didn't know if I could do by myself. But oh how rewarding when each day is a different accomplishment!!! Thank you for your wonderful stitching videos that have sparked a new interest in slow stitching.
I love your sweet little home, and feel so proud of you and for you. I see a happy place for you, Stella and Fredfred. Thank you showing us where you are. I look forward to many happy videos from this place. Hugs brave lady.❤
I just love your tiny home and I am bursting with pride for you and the way you have handled things. You have accomplished so much already and I can't wait to see it with all your lovely things hanging and set about. I think you will be very happy there. I have one of those cabinets that go back and I found some plastic baskets at a Dollar store that the front is a big handle. Everything I put back in there is in a basket and I can just reach for the handle. Nothing gets lost.
Oh Katherine the opening of the video with Stella so happy on the beach brought tears to my eyes. I have been where you are right now and it was so frightening but I made it thru and learned a lot about myself. We are stronger than we know. Sending tons of happy vibes your way. Thank you for always being such an inspiration🤗
Thank you so much Teri, yes it is frightening, I am not ashamed to admit to being terrified quite often these last few months about how my future might look. Thank you for the happy vibes and the positive message of hope. Lots of love ❤️
@@k3n.clothtalesI have to add that I’m loving the way you’ve already made your new home so homely and so very you. It may be small but the way you’ve adapted it to suit your lifestyle without it looking in any way cluttered is so imaginative. And it looks very calming and peaceful. And as for DIY you are rocking it! ❤
Kathryn, how lovely to see how far you’ve come already! You should be very proud of all you’ve accomplished….cleaning, hanging shelves, painting, sawing off a table….you are amazing and can do anything! Looks like you’ve got a little lawn outside which is wonderful for your plants. I could hear the spark returning to your voice just as I could see Stella’s tail wagging showing her happiness to be home with you! God bless you always!
Hahahahaha, you have made 'shopping for a drill' FUN. I so enjoy all your wittering and seeing your new home. Your neighbors are so lucky to have you in their midst!
I love the view from your living room bay window. I can see you sitting on your beautiful sofa, sewing, whilst looking out at the cold, rainy, windy weather. You'll be inside, all cosy and warm.
Oh my! So delighted to see Stella's joy on the beach and to see you back together with your precious companions. Being a woman who lives alone with her cat ,and, who tends to watch her house get shabbier and shabbier, I am inspired by all the work you have done on your new home. It makes me realize that I CAN paint my own kitchen, sand and repaint the stair railings, hang up the pictures that are leaning against the wall. I don't need to wait for someone else to help me. I am learning so, so much from you in so many ways. And, the power of love and care in the community created by your generous teaching and sharing is just profound. We are so, so fortunate to have each other. Thank you!
There are strange moments when I freeze, like today the washing machine wouldn't fill. It's like I am waiting for Someone to take over and fix it. Then I realise there's only me. It was pretty simple, the tap on the water inlet pipe was closed. But I had to woman-handle the machine away from the wall to be able to turn it on. Then I pressed start again, water rushed in and the laundry got clean. Small, insignificant but a victory. Yes, you can do it. Anything you set your mind to. Love and hugs ❤️
Your home is adorable & very comfy. I love the China pattern & your choice of home decorating colors too. I see you having many hours of creativity here. Best wishes & congratulations on your new home!
Hello Kathryn! This video of yours was inspiring to me. I'm 60 years old and I'm in the process of making decisions very similar to the one you made. Tough but necessary decisions. There is an aggravating factor, which is the fact that I have a very delicate health and a fragile body. But, I am strengthening myself mentally, doing therapy and prioritizing myself to be able to withstand the changes that will come. I loved the beach and the small rocks with their beautiful colors. The view is perfect for creating a landscape with fabric and embroidery. I wish you the best in your new life and stay firm as you have been.💪💜
I am a VERY new subscriber - only here about a week having stumbled on your channel while looking at Japanese rice bags. I wanted to encourage you - I separated (then divorced) after 39 years. I was 59. It was not easy, but it was good for me. My friends said that my face changed - relaxed and softened, no more scowl lines. That always stuck with me. I am now 74. I moved from the west coast of the US to the east coast 8 years ago when I retired to be closer to my daughter. I bought a cute little house 3 years ago and am currently renovating the attic space as my "craft" room. (That is to say I have hired people to do the work!). I sew, I make jewelry, I do paper crafts and journals, and whatever else catches my fancy. I loved the tour of your little home. Thank you so much for sharing that piece of yourself with us. Keep up the inspiring work. (BTW I am also Kathryn...and I love k3n - so clever)
Dear Kathryn, I am sending you virtual bread and salt for your new home. That ist a very old tradition for a housewarming gift here in Germany. May you always have bread and salt in your home, may it bring happiness and may you live in a good community. All the best Astrid
Welcome back to the UK Kathryn. I’m so glad you have Stella and Fredfred with you. I love that part of the south west coastline, enjoy your Park Life ❤❤
Thank you Kathryn for this video. It is such a relief to see you and Stella and Fred-Fred safely in your new home. The coastline is gorgeous. I love the sea, but no longer live near the ocean, so seeing you and Stella walking on the beach is so wonderful !!! I love your new home and I am so impressed by how much you have accomplished in such a short period of time - my goodness - the cleaning, the painting, the sawing, and on and on it goes. Well done !!! You have created a beautiful home for you and Stella and Fred-Fred. It warms my heart ❤
Your new home is lovely! You have all the space you need for what's important to you. Love those doorknobs and plenty of cupboard space in the bedroom. The sofa bed is a great idea. I had to pause the video to admire the knitted cushion - stunning! When you come to put your shelves up, don't forget the rawl plugs 😉 So good to see Stella and FredFred wrestling and Stella loving the beach. Thank you for sharing with us - it's good to be able to visualise where you are (not in a creepy stalkery way...in a caring, concerned way). You're doing great- so proud of you 🤗 Mary x 💟
Thank you Mary, the cushion was a way to teach myself to knit fair isle with one yarn in each hand. 😁 Regarding the Rawl plugs, I am fairly sure there is wooden studding in the walls so as long as I can screw into those, I should be fine. I am pretty sure that is how the kitchen shelves were done, no Rawl plugs in the holes when I took the screws out. 😁❤️
Kathryn, When you get settled, and when you have time, maybe you could take us with you, (via video) to a thrift/store charity shop, and tell us how you chose sheets, or clothing for slow stitching/ and eco printing. How can you tell if they have polyester if the tag is gone, or if you buy only cotton? I think that would be fun. Just a thought.
Hello Judy, one of my new neighbours told me that the charity shops here are great so I will certainly take you with me when I get round to visiting them. There is also a big flea market not far away every so often so again, once I am settled I look forward to visiting that too. ❤️
Wow, Kathryn, your measuring and saw skills are impressive, and I smiled because my dad’s words are always the same as yours, ‘Let the saw do the work’ 😊 You’re doing great things getting your space how you want it, and seeing Stells and Fredfred wrestling and playing is very inspirational and life affirming -they don’t fret or dwell, they just keep on keeping on and doing what makes them happy and I know you’re going to do the same, and you’ll be absolutely fine. It was really lovely to be given a tour of your home and see some of the special things you have made and garnered through your life. Downsizing can be painful but you have many years of creating and growing and sharing ahead of you; I’m looking forward to seeing your next chapter unfolding ❤Stella made me laugh lying on the doorway - we call that ‘lying with your legs left behind’ 😂
Thank you for sharing your new-to-you park home. I love to see you and Stella and Fredfred settling in. So fun to see how you are using pieces from your old life to craft a new one. I look forward to seeing how you make your new space work for your crafting and filming. You’ve already done a wonderful job of making it welcoming and inviting and functional. Kudos!
This made so happy to see Kathryn!!! I have still been watching the Monday and Wednesday videos but wasn't really saying much - a dear friend was in ICU - fortunately now on a general ward 🎉 coming back from the beach with Oscar and seeing this video is just so uplifting and inspiring actually I want to hang a painting in my kitchen that will require drilling not just a screwdriver hence I have put off even trying! So good to be near the sea and your home already has your stamp on it!!! Stella is just gorgeous and obviously loving her new life. I am just so happy for you Kathryn - you embody the whole ethos of " when life gives you lemons make lemonade " ❤ a virtual hug and woofs from the pooch - big love as always from Scotland ❤❤
From a lady that lives on Park Street, it was comforting to see the light in your eyes and your wind swept hair. Watching Stella and FredFred playing and seeing your home and all its treasures was delightful. You have worked so hard and we are all amazed by your progress and strength. A day at the beach is always a good idea.
You’ve got this! A big change, but what a great opportunity to find your happiness again. I am 71 and a widow now for 5 years. I love power tools! You will be so proud of yourself for what you learn you can accomplish. How nice to be so close to the beach. Just beautiful. I know you will enjoy making your home all your own. I downsized after the passing of my hubby and I love my cozy little house I share with my dog. Many blessings to you!❤
Thank you for sharing your home and your new life, it was so lovely to Stella enjoying herself on the beach and I just loved seeing Stella and Fredfred playing, it was hilarious. I live in the south east by the sea and I just love it, nothing like sea air for blowing away the cobwebs and focusing on the good things in life. Sending you hugs and you can do this ❤xx
Sending you, Stella and FredFred a big hug and much love. Thanks for this beautiful touching video. Be well our beautiful Kathryn, you are very special and greatly respected. 💖🧵🪡
Hi Kathryn, you are doing an amazing job and your new home looks lovely and having your fur babies with you it is really a home now Totally agree with you you have to take time out to recharge, I have never experienced what you are going through, although we have had a tough year with my husband having a triple by pass, he is fine now however there have been difficult times and I found my self emotionally exhausted. Think grief is definitely not experienced with the lose of a loved one we experience grief for all sorts of reasons that life throws at us. I know you will take care and be kind to yourself. Sending much love to you Stella and Fred Fred. Xxx
Thank you so much Sue, it's so difficult for the loved ones too when someone in the family has health issues and they are often overlooked as the focus and sympathy is on the person who is poorly. I am happy to hear he is better and I hope you are feeling more hopeful and happy yourself. Much love ♥️
I love what you have done with your new home! Love the china from Aunt Lily, absolutely gorgeous!! You are looking very happy in this environment , less stressed. You made me laugh with you wittering. My husband always goes on about my wittering, so i just love listening to you. . . But i wonder how we'd get along, us bith wittering on. LOL 😂😆 congrats on the home with Fred-Fred and Stels.
It’s lovely to see you. You have a sweet new home and Stella and Fredfred are such a source of joy! I look forward to seeing many more happy creative videos. Take care, we are all wishing you well 💐xxx
Well done, you've achieved so much. You might want to utube screws and their uses. I took up woodworking a while ago and found, as you so often do, that things are designed and built with purpose. A little research and you will find the best thing to use in each situation, which will save you a bunch of trouble and time. Get a jump on that learning curve. 😊 All the best in your new home. As a lover of tiny it looks gorgeous to me. 😊
@@k3n.clothtaleslol. Exactly 😊 I bought some of the needles you mentioned and they are lovely and now my go to 😊. Dont you just love utube for this sharing of knowledge ❤
I am glad you are allowing yourself to sleep when you can. I agree with your granny. In fact I realise that I feel big sister ish toward you, in a non-bossy way, I hope. I’m glad Fran is helping too. She has an amazing voice, hasn’t she, and I think it has even improved since she made that CD. I hope you can have some more happy beach moments this weekend. Our mum used to have several sayings about the seaside. She used to talk about walking with her sister, our Auntie Vonn, on the beach when visiting her in Australia, and how “everything just blew away”, as they talked things over. As mum found it hard to let go of things this must have been especially important to her. Of course she also said that the “good sea air means that you sleep well”. Thanks for reminding me it was Rivendell. ❤
I am very happy to have a big sister, being an only child. And yes, I love Fran's voice from when she first sang Joni Mitchell in the Facebook group in Pojagi week. Your name here intrigues me 'indoors singing '. I seem to think that all three of you were in a choir? ♥️
❤an audible ooooh came from me when I first saw the sea! I so enjoyed this video and I got tears seeing how happy Stella and Fred Fred already are, I look forward to seeing them more. Kathryn, you are a beautiful soul and I admire you more than you know. Your park home is sweet and cozy, it's easy to see all the hard work you have put into it thus far. My thoughts are with you each day. Do take care of yourself and know how very loved you are all over the world including right here in Central NY State❤Have a beautiful weekend ❤️
Thank you for sharing your lovely new home. So great to see Stella romping on the beach..... move over Mary Anning here comes Stella and Kathryn. Love to you, Fredfred and Stella❤🦘
Funny you should mention Mary Anning, I was just talking about fossils with my neighbour this morning as she has an ammonite in her garden that she found. Stella wanted to pick it up. 😁❤️
Young Kathryn...the best that life has to offer is just ahead of you now. It was wonderful to hear joy and a new confidence in your voice. I wept tears of happiness for you and wish you all the best . There is nothing you cannot do. Care for yourself and your furry loves and thank you for taking us along on this new phase of your life. ❤ Hugs!
Not being one to leave many comments or traces of me on the internet, I cannot help but leave one today. I kept looking online across the day (from Melbourne) waiting to see a sign from you and to check out your new digs. I feel quite invested in your well-being. I hope that it's not too intrusive. I feel relaxed now that I've seen your beautiful new home and hear a lightness in your voice. Thank you, Kathryn. And yes, I remember the song very well. :)
Thank you for sharing your newest video of the beach and opening up your home and your heart as you face new challenges. I too have been in your situation of suddenly alone on my own. Frightening at first but gratifying as you look back and see all you were able to accomplish and learn. We are all much stronger than we originally think we are. I hope your new home will disclose new opportunities for you to meet new people and make new friendships. You have so much to offer. Look forward to seeing your progress both materially and personally. You can/are doing this 🤗 god bless
Hello from Glastonbury!! Have just been in Dilliway & Dilliway... Used to teach their daughter..!! Sending you so much love for your new home and new journey. I too have had a major life change in my 70s., it's not easy. ❤❤❤❤❤

Hello Julia, it makes me so happy to hear that my witterings make sense to you and maybe even help, who knew? Carry on making time for yourself and doing you. I am looking forward to finding out who 'me' is because I think in some ways, I have forgotten. Much love ❤️
What a lovely new home. Your thoughtful touch shines through your home. I loved the windy walk on the beach. It's nice seeing you smile and hear you calling out to Stella. Your story is important for all of us, especially those of us who are women. And, by the way, 59 is very young from my perspective of 72.
"The time you enjoy wasting is not wasted time" a quote attributed to Bertrand Russell, is a wonderful reminder to be kind to yourself. From one single lady park home dweller to another I send you very best wishes and I do hope you will come to enjoy your very own personal space surrounded by what is important to you. Love your videos whenever and whatever you can manage!
My heart goes out to you. Something very similar happened to me after 31 years of marriage. The first Christmas on my own my daughter bought me a cordless drill! Every project was a learning curve. I am 80 now, still on my own but never lonely, and still doing little diy projects from time to time. Then I discovered You tube and your wonderful channel and am now knitting your scrappy socks. Please know that we are all here for you. Thank you so much for all that you give to us through your videos.
I hope your're doing well. I know what you are feeling as I've been there too. What a lovely cosy little home you have. With your creativity and talent you will soon have things in place for you to feel safe and recharged. Take care and it's lovely to see you're OK.
Thank-you for inviting us into your home, Kathryn. It's lovely to see all the wooden furniture and beautiful textiles which will adorn it. The views of the sea were a bonus. ❤
After having missed your lovely videos for a few weeks, I discovered this evening about your big life changes. Thank you for sharing your experience so openly and with such optimism and creativity, and welcome to the 'tribe' of determined single women who sleep in single beds!!! 😃wishing you peace and happiness in your new home xxx
So happy to see a happy you and a frolicking😮 Stella. Love your little house. I lived in a park home for two years when my daughter was a baby. I found it cozy, easy to clean, and I could see my toddler from every room when she learned to walk. Speaking of children, I hope your children are doing okay through all this. I know they’re older but it’s still an upheaval for everyone.
Thank you Judith, yes they are fine with it. My son is coming over for a week in October and they will both be here for a week at Christmas. I think they are looking forward to it just being the three of us and no Atmosphere if you get my drift. ❤️
I love seeing Stella enjoying the beach. It’s a beautiful place and I think it’s good for you, you look more relaxed already. The house might be small but it’s very cozy. Hope the three of you have a wonderful time there. ❤Tineke
Thank you for taking us along to the beach and giving us a tour of your new home. Remember change can be good and be good to yourself along this new chapter in your life.❤❤
Your lovely attitude will see you through all your challenges. Home is where the heart is🥰 and you shall have all the happiness you need for you and your fur babies!
Aw Kathryn so lovely to see you already settled in your cosy adorable home, can’t believe you’re so unpacked and organised after only 3 days! Wishing you happiness in your new home xxx
Oooh, I’d love an explanation of how to make your own blinds. Gorgeous patterns and textures all around. It exudes warmth and feels like home already. Can’t wait to see what you make of it.
I will share when I make the blinds. I made some about 20 years ago when my son was a baby, for his nursery and they were very simple but they did the job. ❤️
Thank you for sharing the tour of your cozy house. You have done a genius job of making use of every bit of space. Also enjoyed the trip or the beach. The tiny stone gravel is what I “buy” to make tablet/phone stands. You can use split peas or rice but then they’re not washable. Anyway, looking forward to more episodes of park home life.
Oh how fabulous to see you and your beautifully boisterous wrestlers! I had a huge smile on my face through this very special first episode of Park Home Life! Thanks so much for sharing with us and it was absolutely heart lifting to see you relaxed, having fun and very deservedly proud of your mammoth and gorgeous home renovation/nesting efforts!!❤ yay for YOU!! You gonna name that drill or what?!🤣 Big loves to you and yay the beach ❤🌊
It's amazing how things fit in. I feel it's a meant to be first step. You have done it so well. Take it easy and don't push yourself as you are in transition for a bit longer. ❤❤❤
Thank you Kathryn. Now you have Stella and Fred Fred hopefully they give you great comfort. Simply watching them enjoying life without a care in the world is wonderful. You have done so well with all that decorating and do-it-yourself skills you never knew you had. Wishing all three of you much happiness to come. ❤😊
Many thanks for sharing. Love your little house. Great to see you and Stella enjoying the beach and Fred Fred lying in the sun on your bed. Take it one day at a time. x Blessings x Mariana UK xx
You have made a big difference to your new home already and so right to say take time out to recharge, no better place to do that than on a beach or in the woods ❤
Wow wow wow! You have done so much. The beach and sea air will be an amazing healing place. The wind will whip away negative thoughts and allow your joy to flow. I love the English seaside…..and I love your patch of wildness. I can imagine how happy it makes you. I thank you for the giggles of buying your tools. I am lying in bed with COVID and was feeling very grumpy until I watched your excitement of choosing and setting up your drill. Can’t wait to see what you use it for. And finally, I feel honoured to see around your sacred space. It looks so cozy and ready for your loving touch. Slowly it will bloom into your personal space….what you want, where you want things to go, what you want to eat and when, colours that inspire you. It is all rather exciting and freeing. I hope you can embrace that part of this change. Remember you are brave and strong and not alone. We love you. ❤️
Well said Kelly.💙
God bless you ♥️
Thank you so much! 😊
What a perfect little nest you’ve started to build. Here’s to women claiming our space in the world. So lovely to see you. Do witter on!
Tes please continue to witter on.💙
I love your comment and am going to turn that into something for my wall in the flat we've moved into, out of and back into in.
You are very welcome here and hopefully we can all support each other ❤️
Blessings on this next journey. The world needs more woman like you in it. Love the stitching inspiration every week.
Thank you so much!❤️
I am glad it was a good day and I hope the joy evident in Stella on the beach was in your heart too and stays with you. You’re doing great and looking after yourself and your wellbeing is so important. Enjoy the process of working on your home and making it yours, at whatever pace feels right for you. It will be resplendent with your beautiful creativity. Cheers, Christine 💙🧵🪡
Thank you Christine ♥️
Kathryn your new home is just lovely❤ Give yourself time to mourn what is lost, it’s very important. I’ve been a widow since my 40’s and you need time to reflect. Women are strong and resilient, and you are loved by this community. Seeing Stella so happy on the beach was a beautiful thing indeed.❤
There is nothing more healing than a trip to the ocean. Blessed be.
Yes, thank you 😊
Been there , done that, and you are going to be fine, and thrive, as your creative wings take you through.
You have made a wonderful refuge for yourself ,Stella and Fred Fred❤
Stella and Fred Fred sure look happy.
Thank you so much and hugs to you too ❤️
Dear Kathryn, I don't know about a comment, I found myself writing a whole letter to you while I was watching and listening on my phone this morning.
🙏
Thank you. Your home is so cozy. Everything will get done in time.
Stay Strong Kathryn we are all here standing shoulder to shoulder with you, women supporting women. Like many of your viewers we are strong independent women who have been there and that second chance at a new life is great. 🎉❤x Love your new home and how you’re making it your own.
Thank you Jen, I have felt you all standing with me since I first shared what was happening in my life and it has given me so much strength ❤️
Thank you yes, quick to clean and easy to keep warm and cosy. I think I will be very happy here 😊
Tears of happiness from me seeing your new home so homely, well done to you Kathryn xx ❤
Thank you so much! ❤️
Good for you. I was married for 31 years and all of a sudden it was over. Now I am single and enjoying every minute of life. The first year was difficult but I made it thru because of my daughters and my friends. The only thing I can share with you is be good to yourself. Enjoy your new adventure.
Thank you Debbie, I am so pleased you are enjoying life ♥️
Go gurl.
(The video was too short, lol)
As I was watching it, all I wanted to do was help you with everything, as that is what I do and love to do, at the age of a very young 71.
@@k3n.clothtales I am so glad. It was a revelation for me to discover I didn't have to have a reason to be happy. Much lovexxx
@@randicolberg1687 hello Randi, thank you I can picture you now with your grey twist and your beautiful face streaming with good, empowering tears ❤️
Oh Kathryn, I am cheering you on along the sidelines! As the stories of those who traversed a similar journey before you, offer encouragement and hope, your story will do the same for others. You definitely have a generous heart in sharing your experiences, talent and time. Best of luck!
Thank you ❤️
Kathryn, you are going to manage this new chapter of your life just fine!!!
Thank you so much and hugs to you too ❤️
I just love your tiny home and I am bursting with pride for you and the way you have handled things.
That's a good idea, thank you Gloria. ❤️
Oh Katherine, I can tell you are happy. I see you smiling and hopeful! Bravo, strong woman. xo
A woman’s strength is in her mending. All will be well. ❤️🙏
Bless you, brave lady! It’s great to see you and looking so lovely. Big hugs 🤗 ❤
Thank you Anne, hugs to you too ❤️
@@k3n.clothtalesI have to add that I’m loving the way you’ve already made your new home so homely and so very you.
Thank you Nancy 😊
Thank you!
Be bold! Tackle those tasks that will lead to you feeling more powerful in your own world. You can do it!
Thank you so much for the words of encouragement, I am so pleased you found me. Yeay for rice bags ❤️
You’re warm and dry and comfy, surrounded by your pets and precious items, one day at a time, you’ll be fine ❤️❤️❤️
Dear Kathryn, I am sending you virtual bread and salt for your new home. That ist a very old tradition for a housewarming gift here in Germany. May you always have bread and salt in your home, may it bring happiness and may you live in a good community. All the best Astrid
Thank you Astrid that's very kind of you 🙏❤️
Welcome back to the UK Kathryn. I’m so glad you have Stella and Fredfred with you. I love that part of the south west coastline, enjoy your Park Life ❤❤
Park home life, what a fantastic video, inspiring all of us on your journey. Well done lovely lady I'd love to do the same....x
Thank you so much Susan ❤️
Your new home is lovely! You have all the space you need for what's important to you. Love those doorknobs and plenty of cupboard space in the bedroom. The sofa bed is a great idea. I had to pause the video to admire the knitted cushion - stunning!
When you come to put your shelves up, don't forget the rawl plugs 😉
So good to see Stella and FredFred wrestling and Stella loving the beach. Thank you for sharing with us - it's good to be able to visualise where you are (not in a creepy stalkery way...in a caring, concerned way).
You're doing great- so proud of you 🤗
Mary x 💟
Yes. I agree. I am wondering how to tell if the sheets in a thrift store are 100% cotton if the tags are long gone......
Thank you, love that lying with your legs left behind. 😂 We call it frog's legs 😉❤️
Kudos!
Thank you so much! 😊
Hello Margaret, I am glad your friend is better. Thank you for the love and woofs and the same to you and Oscar from us ❤️
From a lady that lives on Park Street, it was comforting to see the light in your eyes and your wind swept hair.
Many blessings to you!❤
I LOVE THAT SOFA! It’s happy colors and I love the whole colorful collage of textiles on it! Makes me smile…. I look forward to Park Home Life! ❤❤❤
Thank you so much Carol, yes it's hard to be miserable on a beach ❤️
Sending you, Stella and FredFred a big hug and much love. Thanks for this beautiful touching video. Be well our beautiful Kathryn, you are very special and greatly respected. 💖🧵🪡
Hi Kathryn, you are doing an amazing job and your new home looks lovely and having your fur babies with you it is really a home now
Totally agree with you you have to take time out to recharge, I have never experienced what you are going through, although we have had a tough year with my husband having a triple by pass, he is fine now however there have been difficult times and I found my self emotionally exhausted.
I love fellow witterers, especially if they can talk and listen at the same time. Twice the wittering, twice the fun. 😁❤️
😊❤
Kathryn, I just loved your video! So good to see you laugh! I wish you the best of luck in your new home/life.
Thank you, I guess they are like sewing needles in that sense 🥰
Thank you Sally, I hope you have a lovely weekend too ❤️
Thank you for sharing your lovely new home.
❤ Hugs!
Thank you so much Kim ❤️
It looks gorgeous. A lovely happy home for all of you. Actually I'm glad you're back in England it really does feel right.
Not intrusive at all Kristelle, thank you so much. I truly appreciate you being here ❤️
Thank you for sharing your newest video of the beach and opening up your home and your heart as you face new challenges.
And breeeeaaaathe …. 😊
Hello from Glastonbury!! Have just been in Dilliway & Dilliway... Used to teach their daughter..!!
Sending you so much love for your new home and new journey. I too have had a major life change in my 70s., it's not easy. ❤❤❤❤❤
Hello Pam, I have secretly promised myself a little treat from Dilliway and Dilliway once I discover what I might have room for. I was there with my daughter Lily a few weeks ago and she said I should. 😊❤️
@@k3n.clothtales Aaah, you need a little treat. I wish we could meet up... I would love to buy you a coffee for the hours of pleasure your podcasts give me. I am a 24 hour carer for a very disabled husband. Knitting and now slow stitching are my sanctuary. Much love, Pam x
Hiya 🌞 dearest K3n, thankyou for doing this!Good to see you in the fresh air with Stella and knowing Fred Fred is " at home".(I'm 74yrs and my sons-46/50; now with their own families & had similar 45yrs ago, only getting time now to give thought/time to myself!) This is why l love ❤ your "wittering";you're braver than l to be able to speak up; l find myself reasonating with what you've been disclosing and have been able to let go of so much! So a personal sincere thank you 😊 Enough! Look how you've made a marvellous nest for you all😊,- so impressed with all your skills& all you've achieved in such a minuscule period of time! Keep well, safe and content always 👌 👍 🙏 (forgive the rave& familiarity.)l live 4streets from the beach here! The hexies boxes were a hit and l direct enquiries to your channel or else people tend to expect one to make a production line for their benefit.Hence why lm escaping& learning how to use this device 🤔 😀 Julia, Brisbane, Australia ❤ 🇦🇺 😀 🪃
Hello Julia, it makes me so happy to hear that my witterings make sense to you and maybe even help, who knew? Carry on making time for yourself and doing you. I am looking forward to finding out who 'me' is because I think in some ways, I have forgotten. Much love ❤️
@@k3n.clothtales Thankyou for this,so kind; just 🤔 you can now choose who you wish to become;& " you do you" takes on a whole new meaning! love 2u2.
Thank you Ann, that's a wonderful quote. ❤️
I think I must embroider that quote!!!
Thank you Pauline for being here and sharing your story. Happy scrappy knitting ❤️
I hope your're doing well. I know what you are feeling as I've been there too. What a lovely cosy little home you have. With your creativity and talent you will soon have things in place for you to feel safe and recharged. Take care and it's lovely to see you're OK.
Thank you Carol ❤️
Thank-you for inviting us into your home, Kathryn. It's lovely to see all the wooden furniture and beautiful textiles which will adorn it. The views of the sea were a bonus. ❤
Glad you enjoyed it Jill ♥️
Your home is beautiful and already looks like a home, your home ❤
Thank you so much ❤️
I love seeing Stella enjoying the beach. It’s a beautiful place and I think it’s good for you, you look more relaxed already. The house might be small but it’s very cozy. Hope the three of you have a wonderful time there. ❤Tineke
Thank you for taking us along to the beach and giving us a tour of your new home. Remember change can be good and be good to yourself along this new chapter in your life.❤❤
Thank you so much for sharing. You are sounding so much happier and positive , be kind to yourself. Looking forward to being part of your new journey.
You are so inspiration to us all. You are creating a new beautiful life with grace. Thank you for sharing this tour of your new home with us all.
Every single day it will feel more and more like home. Well done, Katherine.
Your lovely attitude will see you through all your challenges. Home is where the heart is🥰 and you shall have all the happiness you need for you and your fur babies!
Oh I can smell the salty air blowing about.
Aw Kathryn so lovely to see you already settled in your cosy adorable home, can’t believe you’re so unpacked and organised after only 3 days! Wishing you happiness in your new home xxx
Thank you Bea, still a long way to go but getting there 😁❤️
Oooh, I’d love an explanation of how to make your own blinds.
You gonna name that drill or what?!🤣
Big loves to you and yay the beach ❤🌊
Oh name the drill, what a great idea! Perhaps I will ask for suggestions in the next episode and do a poll 😁❤️
@@k3n.clothtales ooh what a clever thought!! Fun 👏👏👏
Bill the drill?
@@rosywilson3076 I think she needs a girl's name 😉😁❤️
Like it says on your new mug, "You got this!!" Your new place will soon be home with your wonderful creative touches!
What a wonderful trip to the beach, westling fur babies and your lovely home. Ahh, HOME Sweet HOME💙💚💛
Yes! Thank you! ❤️
Thank you so much for that, I am so sorry you are poorly and hope you feel better soon, much love ❤️
Oh no worry
It’s just a blip. I am feeling better everyday. X
