- A TWISTED inventor who murdered and butchered a journalist after luring her aboard his homemade submarine escaped prison after claiming he had a bomb.
Snuff film-obsessed Peter Madsen was jailed for life for the gruesome killing and dismemberment of Kim Wall, a respected freelance reporter from Sweden.
Danish engineer Madsen, 49, had been held in Herstedvester Prison on the outskirts of Copenhagen since 2018.
He is reported to have escaped after threatening guards this morning by claiming he was carrying a bomb.
He was also brandishing a "pistol-like object", reports Expressen, and may have taken a hostage as he hijacked a white van.
The murderer however only managed to get around 500 metres away from the prison before an armed police swoop.
Witnesses described seeing Madsen being pulled from a vehicle before he was left sitting on the roadside surrounded by officers.
Police are believed to have handcuffed him before stepping away to await the arrival of the bomb squad.
Cops can be seen with their guns trained on him as he sits expressionless by the bushes.

I think this might be the guy who got a news reporter in his sub and killed her
He's a very clever man and have build a lot of stuff himself like rockets and submarines. He then invited a swedish news reporter down in his own submarine and killed her and decapitated her. Like cut of her lims and everything and he then tossed it out the water i think. It took the police months to find all the body parts and prove that he was guilty because he is so clever. So almost all evidence was erased. For the police this was one of the biggest cases ever. For peter madsen (submarine killer) it was just a game. A game of how long it would take the police to catch him. They eventually did some years ago and today he tried to escape
