The Holy Diver's tone is brighter, but, I like the Suhr Aldrich better. More mids, and the low end is tighter. Very similar to the Dean Baker Act bridge pickup I have in my Les Paul.

I thought I was going to prefer the Bareknuckle but I like the Suhr. It's "nastier." They're definitely different. I could see people liking the clarity of the Bareknuckle more.
Definitely agree. Personally I like the clarity of the Holydiver more, but there's definitely something more raw and nastier about the suhr for sure!

One minor suggestion: The guitar is MUCH louder than your voice, so it will be better for the listeners if you could level the volume a bit more between the tracks. Good luck with the channel! Cheers

They are both cool for different tones. More apparent with riffs. Sound more similar with lead. Cool to hear some Testament!

I’ve got the BKHD in my EBMM silhouette. Love them. Considering the DA for a Schecter Exotic. I think they’ll work out quite well.

This was a good demo.....now put the Suhr Aldrich in a Les Paul body and listen to that amazing sound!!!!!!
The Suhr has so much more clarity, bite, and articulation. I was trying as hard as I could to find a BKP I liked. But, after watching dozens of these, the Suhr’s not only have the sound I’m after with lower output pickups, that I gravitate towards. But, they’re in strat style guitars. Some of these BKP’s are designed to go into LP style guitars, which makes a HUGE difference in their sound. God bless you for doing these videos though. It makes the decision process for us so much easier.
You're welcome! Nobody had done this very obvious comparison so I figured I should. Suhr pickups are amazing and so are bareknuckle. Suhr are much more affordable though so it's the clear winner for most people.
Does the Aldrich have resonant bass so that the bass will sustain when doing palm muted whole note chugs? Does the Holy Diver do this better??? cheers and good idea to compare these JB-like pickups!
Thanks! Good question. I don't really think one does palm muted chugs better then the other. Just the Aldrich is slightly darker in tone overall is really the only notice difference between these 2
7th like brother. I have always wanted to put some Bare Knuckle pups in a guitar but I'm always sold to Seymour Duncan pickups. They have good upper mids but Bare Knuckle seems to thrive in metal genres.

I believe the BK es more open and brighters, i think its better for those 80's classic riffs and the aldrich it's a little bit modern, its a a bit scooped... there are two pick ups for different Genres

I own the HD set. Originally had them on a mahogany body, maple neck guitar and I did not like them at all (vs say JB, Gibson LP stock, mules).
I’ve since sold the guitar and am looking for a guitar to put the HDs in…or will sell them too.
Perhaps I got a bad set.

I was way too clothed while watching this, but - after/while watching - I found myself BARE naked. Therefore, I'm slightly partial to the Bare Knuckles. A little more girth - alluding to the guitar pickups. Keep it clean...unless you're playing distorted. #TripleThreat

Holy diver brighter Aldrich more growl and in the solos they sound the same to me for the price Aldrich wins get the same but a little more treble u can’t go wrong with either but I like the Aldrich for about $200 less really SUHR amazing quality and made in USA can’t go wrong …SO SHUT UP 😂😂😂😂
