      It's cracking, not because you are singing louder or less breathy, but because the larynx it coming up. You can learn to sing stronger and keep the larynx down. Start here: Watch this video and follow the directions: ruclips.net/video/d0Ob8WGmvPc/видео.html

      Is it cracking at the register change (register break)? Or in the head voice range? Those are 2 different things and require different technique at those points to achieve

    Just thought I should let you know, I struggle with poor vocal chord closure and tight throat/high larynx. When I would do the vocal cord exercises i would push more with my throat and when I would try to relax my throat and not push my chords wouldn’t close. After awhile I have come to realize there was a different problem that was the root of all this. Not good breath support! Which was causing me to push with my throat because I didn’t have enough air, I wasn’t holding it in and I was using too much when I sang. I am now learning to: control the breath by allowing less to flow out and holding it in with my ab muscles, keeping posture and starnum off the lungs as I exhale so there is room for the air in my lungs and consistently taking deep breaths when needed. All about the air! Doing this automatically gives me vocal chord closure because using the air instead of my throat so I can let go of the tension and the air pushes the chords closed! So you see some people might be struggling with vocal chord closure and high larynx, but it May be they don’t have good breath support! I was working so hard on everything else and struggling but this was the root of it.
    :)

    all this that you talk about in the video is what happened to me before knowing the sls method. I sang really hard and in the end I was tired and red in the face. After a few years I had a corditis and I realized there was something wrong. Among other things, I also suffer from esophageal reflux so the situation was really complicated. I had lost tone, falsetti, everything ... I was really desperate. Then with the internet search I found this technique that struck me immediately: singing at the speech level. I tried to deepen and today, thanks to one of the qualified Italian teachers, everything has really changed, but I still have to work a lot to fully master this wonderful technique. Thanks, Chuck

      @yordanadaskalova have you seen an ENT? I would just to see if the cords are damaged. If they are ok, you can totally learn to get through your bridge without strain or pain. If there is some damage, follow the advice of your ENT and then get started on these.

      I think it is possible, but one thing can really hold you back, and that is your self image. If you identify as shy and quiet, it is hard to overcome that. Singers typically have personalities that like to be front and center, demanding lot's of attention, and naturally project. Not so much because of their voice, but their personality. You must commit to a new self image and surprise all your friends.

    But there is a way to sing with "max power" safely. (?)
    Of course, I don't think it's smart to tell a beginner to sing that way, but I am actually doing one famous youtube vocal coaches vocal course and there is a described way of "doing it right". Balance is still the key, but there is an addition to strengthening chest voice. After doing exercises (or singing) lightly (earlier bridging through mix voice to a head voice) for approximately 30-45 minutes, you can start pulling your chest voice higher (with correct vowel modifications, stronger diaphragmatic support and without "widening") in order to have a stronger and higher voice. For now, I am experiencing a lot of benefits with this way of practicing singing, but I would like to hear your opinion on this topic. Hope it makes sense (My English is not so good).

    • @PowerToSing
      @PowerToSing  4 года назад

      Yes you can sing with max power safely...just not with pulled chest safely. I would recommend focusing on developing a powerful mix, rather that pulling chest voice higher.

    • @PowerToSing
      @PowerToSing  Год назад +1

      It is possible to push too much. Most singers tend to push to hard. It usually drives the larynx higher which in turn, makes the low notes difficult to reach. Until your voice develops the proper balance and coordination, it is best not to practice louder than medium to medium loud at the most.

    • @PowerToSing
      @PowerToSing  3 года назад

      First if this is happening when you also speak or if parts of your voice are clean and other parts are rough, please ASAP schedule an appointment with an ENT Dr and get your vocal cords looked at. There might be some injury of the vocal cords. Almost always, the singer is singing too hard and loud. You have to pull back on the loudness. The second thing is you must keep the larynx down. If it goes up, you strain, and often the voice is scratchy and rough.

    Is it possible to learn to sing high notes loud and powerfully the way Michael Jackson does it here:
    ruclips.net/video/PCtmZZBb9Fo/видео.html
    Or did Michael achieve that there by straining his voice or belting? Was it an unhealthy way of singing?
    Can one sing those high notes with a powerful sound like that by mixing?

    • @PowerToSing
      @PowerToSing  4 года назад +2

      Yes it's possible. For example at 1:33, you probably think he said "baby" but he didn't. He said "beby"...which keeps him in a mix or head voice. Otherwise he would have pulled chest there. Yet is sounds very chesty. Does he get a little extravagant in a few places...I think so. So he's probably pulling in a few places. But Seth Riggs tried to keep him a good place as much as possible...and he did.
