Mary Hansen get u some washable markers And I use a light box but before I git that I put the pattern and the pillowcase up to a window and trace the pattern Be sure and use washable markers u can make ur own pattern

The stitch you are using is called a double crochet in us and a treble crochet in uk. Not a half double crochet.
Looks like a US double crochet until the last stich in the grouping which is a US single crochet
