I definitely agree with you that it's not only about having the capability of having a wide vocal range (which you effectively visualized by showing the keyboard) which in itself is already remarkable coz only a few people have that kind of range, but also, and more importantly, is how to properly and masterfully utilize this skill set in order to make the song and the music more beautiful, pleasant to listen to, and be even be moved by it. Morissette has both, she has the skills set and the artistry and musicality to deliver some of the best music we've ever heard in our lives. 🥰
I believe she was born to sing and perform, she has the built-in instincts and the amazingly wonderful connection between her brain and her singing mechanism -- mouth, throat, ears, lungs, diaphragm. Add to these her beauty, charm, warm and bubbly personality, and we got the total package! 🥰

I definitely wish you will also like her original work, and get to appreciate her not just as an outstanding vocalist but also as a budding songwriter and producer. She has been singing professionally for more than 10 years now, doing both great covers and originals written for her, and only started to venture into writing her own songs with her husband Dave sometime in 2020 during the pandemic. Please check out all her five songs in her EP "Signature", namely "Phoenix", "Love You Still", "Will You Stay", "Mirror", and "Trophy". And just recently, "Wishing Well". When you feature her originals, how I wish you could have her join you live -- like when Greg Gould was with you when you featured his collab with Mori for "Love It All Out" -- but if it will not be possible, it will still be allright. 😊
She is one of the best if not the best in this generation
The pianist in the "Fly Like a Bird" is the composer of "Akin ka na Lang".. Mr. Kiko Salazar while the guitarist is Adonis Tabanda of 3rd Avenue Band and The Musical Director in most of her shows.
Her ability to sing any style of song any genre and change the tone and color of her voice is incredible. I think I would enjoy her Broadway medley and/or I am telling you
When you froze the video while she was vocalizing "Jesus" in her whistle register, you can see her total joy while singing this song. That's one of the things that set her apart. Another great reaction guys.
"Higher, Jesus"..."higher" was on a riff so not as readily distinguishable as "Jesus" though 🙂
Just imagine singing and performing alone on stage in front of some 50K+ audience is so scary if you are not brave and confident enough to pull off a performance yet do it but failed miserably, then your career would be in jeopardy.But, Morissette here does it with great confidence and ease.She is already a master class artist at this point in her career....Galactical level! Morissette has always been guilty of making her reactors mesmerized with her vocal performances ... and you both are no exceptions. That is how Mori is. Add to this the fact that she is a very humble person and always accommodating to her fans who seek her attention. No air in her head like what celebrities in Hollywood are like most of the time.
Morissette's best originals are the ones on her Signature EP, released in 2021. My personal favorites are Love You Still and Will You Stay. The best experience is to watch her perform them live with the band-videos are on her channel.

Mori's original songs from her Signature EP, which she co-produced and composed: Love You Still, Phoenix, Mirror, Will You Stay, and Trophy. My personal favorites are the live recordings she did for the RX93.1 Monster Anniversary Concert 2021. Her live ones with her band are great too, but I think she sounds best on the RX93.1 performances.

Fun fact: Mori has four lungs in her petite body. LOL🤪🤪 Oh the pandemic days. But this is is one of my fave Mori videos. The artistry, the team, the music, do you hear those drums??? Wickedtastic. And yes, she does what she does without compromise. I get what you're trying to say Johnny that "good singers can sing good" BUT for me, the nuances that Mori puts into every performance is what sets her apart. BTW, the two men, Adonis Tabanda (bass) is her musical director for most gigs she does and Kiko Salazar is a really good producer and songwriter. He wrote "Akin Ka Na Lang" This is such a fun video. Her voice is much fuller than Mariah and can definitely those whistles too. THIS version is the live version Mariah performed on something that I cannot remember. She even did the "high Jesus"
Oh oh and the second video.....LOOOOOOOOOOVE this one too. Definitely reminds me of one of those VH1 Divas performances. SHe killed this and I don't care what people say that at the end she "lost" the whistle. You try singing and dancing on a massive stage for 10+min and pull off a ridiculous performance. YOu try it and tell me how easy it is. This is also one of my faves. This is her 2nd song of the night and the other one, she belted her face off too and mostly chest voice. You can tell some parts a more aspirated notes but holy cow, give her a break. ALso, thanks for noticing the riffs on the whistle Johnny. I love this one.
THe third one is good but I can't help but get distracted with the 'off note" that came from the BGVs or piano. BUT doesn't take away from how incredibly well MOri performed. Consumate professional
One of her absolute dream collabs is with Bruno Mars. She's just fantastic snd thank you for noticing that in some of the times, Mori was the one who lead the band in so she's pitch perfect. So so so fun ans her bass player, is non otjer than Adonis Tabanda. They work so well together.

I have said before, like a great athlete, Mori has more time than the rest of us. When you watch Messi in the box on a the soccer field defended closely by a center back, time seems to stop. He can do several subtle moves before he passes or scores. It doesn’t seem like he should have enough time. In micro seconds he moves his body in ways it doesn’t seem possible. Everyone else on the field, when you slow the action down, appears to be still. Only he is moving. Mori slips from one note and tone to another so quickly, but you hear each note. These people, in their minds, create more time. They have all the time they need, but it does not seem possible.

The one who is playing the piano in FLy Like A Bird cover is Kiko Salazar - songwriter, composer of Akin Ka Na Lang, Mori is her muse/interpreter at the PhilPop Songwrting Competition (2014) it is where Akin Ka Na Lang debuted, then it will be Mori's hit anthem song thru Wish 107.5 - WishBus. The other person was Adonis Tabanda, whom was also seen in I Want To Know What Love Is (holding a guitar near Mori) - great collab between these 3 talented musicians(voice or instruments) /songwriters/producers.

Mori is really a great singer. That's not even a question anymore. But the band, can we take a moment and also appreciate their skills? I know them personally, they are all session musicians. They are really good, they read notes/music sheets like morning newspaper. They sound so tight since they have been playing together since kids in church before they even became pros.
Thank you for that great info. Didn't know that. For Mori's EP Signature, I know she went for a different set of musicians except for Adonis. The other 4 guys are a recent addition incl Xergio Ramos who played lead guitar and also a co-producer of the album.
