I still wanted to go. We didn’t even have a graduation ceremony. They mailed our high school diplomas to our houses.

My Junior prom lasted about half an hour, since one of the seniors thought it would be funny to bring a beer, take a drink then pass it around. One of the chaperones found the can on the ground and everyone got kicked out. After that I never even bothered with my senior prom.
When I went to my cousins football game (highschool football btw) a guy asked his girlfriend to Homecoming after the game with the posters that said the letters HOCO? And his friends did the letters backwards so it was the awkward readjustment. I wanted to laugh so hard but it would’ve been awkward so I held it in.
i got lucky and got a gf right around her senior prom, i never planned on going to a prom in hs but i did to make her happy. Years later even though we're broken up im glad i got that experience, as its the only memory from highschool I look back on fondly. if youre young just go, even if its just once, you wont regret it
Back in my day we had so much fun at prom. If you didn't have a date you went in big groups (which half our class did). No dumb prom-posals, no pressure. You went if you felt like it, no one cared if you didn't go. I've heard it's the same here now so I wonder if these Prom-posals and pressure are just an American thing...
At my school they had prom for juniors and seniors but they also had SADD dances for freshmen thru seniors which was basically another prom. I had so many dresses it was ridiculous. If I was smart I would have kept them bc kids would buy them now and call them "vintage" instead I sold them for very little when I was 20 😢

I was just gonna say that back when I was in middle school, this group of girls filled a whole bottle with alcohol and then got drunk asf at school and THEN dragged all of me and my friends into their problem with bringing a bottle of alcohol to school. Like they came up to us at lunch and started rolling all over us asking for like gum and snacks it was so annoying
