I was raised in the LDS church and even though I’m not in it anymore, I loved the honest hearts DLC and felt a kinship with Joshua when I played it. The new Canaanites were what the LDS church was meant to be.

A missionary said to me once that if you have one dot (The Bible) you can put an endless amount of lines in it, but, if you have two dots (The Book of Mormon & The Bible) you can only put one line right between them. My own opinions are that LDS is the true Church of Jesus Christ.

I was raised by an evangelical Christian family, my mom and dad didn't push me towards religious matters as they believed that should be a choice that I should make once mature enough to comprehend the matter, growing up in a Hispanic-British School in Spain I was learning a lot about Greek Mythology and Ancient Rome which really sparked up my interest quite a lot.
During my whole childhood the subject of Christ or Christianity was not really meantioned, we didn't have religion as a subject and the school didn't apply any uniform laws (casual wear) , I was raised in a quite liberal environment were I was fortunate enough to explore many things that inspired me like art or music, heck biology was my favorite science and boy was it fun to draw the cells, the eye parts and microscopes.
But anyways, after growing up most of my childhood/teen years in a school we're I was not subjected to religion neither by family, nor friends, nor school I still ended up accepting Christ in my life.
Till this day my older sister questions how that happened since she really didn't expect that from me, I will say that having Christ in your life is as Joshua says, his love is what kept me going.
Battling through depression, addiction and even other things that constantly remind me of the true pain and horrors life holds, I can't do anything but be grateful for God and His love, I was not indoctrinated neither was I by any means a person of religious behavior during my teens, I was simply a guy who saw something greater and decided to go towards the light instead of remaining bitter.
God bless you all and it doesn't matter who you are or what happened to you, you are loved, if you ever feel empty go talk to God and for those who are hardcore atheists or agnostics go head over to the Bob Ross, Lofi, Jordan B Peterson or Mr Roger's Neighborhood video comment sections, there's plenty of love to share around and I certainly wouldn't want anyone reading this to be left empty handed.

@@josetapia9606 It is hard to be good while our bodies are still marred by sin. And it is impossible to be good (truly good, unblemished) without Christ's sacrifice and righteousness given to us.
But with Christ, this is possible. I pray we continue to pursue Christ, to be sanctified and made holy, more like Him and less like the evils of this World.

It's good to know even in video games not all religion was tied to just dark history, God isnt real or bad, and endless controversy.
My beliefs have been questioned and pursued and while I cant convince others of the light, hope, and love I felt in my life. I can confirm that Joshua Graham have said are true.
Theres always peace in what he has said and I'm glad to see and hear this portrayal of faith in a video game.

I’ve always felt that Joshua represented the best that religion has to offer in the modern world. He’s not self-righteous or preachy, he doesn’t force his faith on the people around him, he simply chooses to believe because it helps him process and heal from his past and current struggles, as well as look toward the future with hope for what is to come. He’s not scared to admit that he’s flawed, and says himself that God will not fix all your problems. And, as a practicing Mormon, from my perspective (that I won’t rag on about, I know how obnoxious that sort of talk can be), I feel he’s right. A deity will not micromanage your life, even from a religious perspective, and inevitably personal change will come down to your willingness to grow and improve.

This is beautiful. I especially love the opening scenes' water, moon, and fire. The way they move a bit like that is really mesmerizing. The scene where Caesar watch Joshua falling and burning from on top of a hill is also really cool, probably my favorite part even. Seriously though, this is freaking fantastic! You can probably make some of these into an expensive poster and people woulld buy them. I definitely would also like to see this kind of art as an interactive thing, like a CYOA game or story like Steven Jackson's Sorcery or something in the middle of a CRPG game like how Obsidian's Pillar of Eternity Tyranny do things (especially in the latter's conquest opening)

You know I'm some what of a atheist but the way he talks is different I just can't describe it but it makes me feel good and better I wish there was more characters like Josh in video games
Of course it makes you feel good. If you believed in god and followed his rules the best you can, you would be happier than ever before. It does not even matter if god is real or not. You believing in him makes the idea of god real, even if its just for yourself, its still real.
There is something more I want to give to you Ehsan. It doesn't matter what we believe. It only matters what is true. Is the Bible true, without you believing it? The definition of truth, is that it is outside of what we believe. We can't change reality, by what we believe. God, is outside of time, space, and matter. He has to exist because in science, their is a way we study. Cause and reaction. Time, space, and matter can't create itself. God is the only being described, that is outside of this.
The next question, is did God give us an understanding of our purpose? We create things with a purpose. Sometimes we make things for the sheer fact to be admired... Art. We never just make something with no purpose. So what was that purpose for us? Why are we here? Why did God make us? Some religious leaders were trying to catch Jesus in His words to have a fault to accuse Him of. They asked Him, what is the greatest commandment? God gave many commandments in the Old Testament. Jesus responded with saying, I will give you 2 commandments. First, to love the Lord your God with all your heart, mind, soul, and strength, and the second is like it, to love your neighbor as yourself. On these 2 commandments hangs all the laws and the prophets. This... This was our original design that God gave us, and we rejected it, and Him. Sin is anything that is done, outside of the original design. It is evil, and God must punish it because He is holy. So what did God do, for us rebellious sinners that rejected His ways and even rejected Him... Even denied His very existence. This is what He did...
God came down as a man 2000 years ago, lived a perfect sinless life, and then died on the cross for our sins. In the Bible it says the wages of sin is death... God is paying us in death for our sins. Everything in this world is falling apart and decaying, because of sin. In the same verse, speaking of the wages of sin, it goes on to say this: But the gift of God is eternal through Jesus Christ our Lord. We did nothing to deserve His mercy, and then... For those who believe, He changes us from children of wrath, to children of God. If you believe in what God has done for you through Jesus Christ, and that He rose from the dead, you shall be saved. For with the mouth confesses unto salvation and with the heart, believes unto righteousness. Jesus said, He is the way, the Truth, and the Life, no one comes to the Father, but through Him. Repent of your sins and believe. Agree with God, that your ways are not good and follow Him. Put your trust, your faith, in what He has done for you, and follow Him. Ultimately it doesn't what we believe, it only matters what is true. God left many things for us to believe this. Believe and be saved Ehsan. Joshua Graham is the best charecter in fallout NV but the dlc was too short and OWB cracked me up and the X 13 stealth suit was amazing but the fathers story is so heart warming these 2 have the best story lonesome road was hard AS SHIT but really fun and I'm sorry dead money's trash

It's been three months since I found this vid. Life has kept on going and I've been here living. The world is on flames and I'm still here. Feels weird to think this. It'll be three years since I lost my grandmother. She was my inspiration. My flame. My fire. It was perished when I lost her. And here I am just a pile of ashes were a strong fire once stood. Just like Joshua changes his bandages so do I each night, Not physical ones but the ones inside my heart. As I write this I'm crying. I miss her a lot. This vid always reminds me of the words Joshua says and I can't be more thankful. For in these type of dark nights I watch this video. To listen to someone. To feel as if I have a friend pushing me to keep going. And so I do. No matter the pain. Thanks. For I have watched this vid since I found it three months ago at nights were I don't want to keep pushing. Were I just want to lay down and die. Thanks. For this silly little video has helped me a lot in letting out bottled up emotions to relief the pain. Thank you.

As an LDS, Joshua graham is a really good representation of a religious man, but as a human, he’s a really good representation of redemption.

Even though I myself am not Christian, Joshua Graham is one of the few depictions of a christian character that has earned my full respect. He's not a preachy missionary nor a corrupted reflection of the religion he puts his faith in, just a broken man who tries to seek redemption in religion and puts in the effort to do so. He's a man I respect and what I hoped the Christians in my country would act like, actually- how every religious man in there should. A flawed seeker of redemption who doesn't force his ideals upon others (for he has personally seen the consequences of that technique). The world would be much better had there been more burned men living amongst us (without the prior sins and suffering if can)

This reminds I was raised catholic and I have long since left such. A faith behind and have gone through pain and suffering and as god found Joshua the spirits found me. They guide me in this void we call a universe and lead me to. my found family my found brothers and sisters those who had taught me lessons I will never forget. To heal the scars both mental and physical to not be ashamed of the person I am to lead to the potential person I can be.
