Dr Jeff you are a hero. I could never have tnr'd and fed colonies of hundreds of ferals and homed their many kittens over the past 20 years without the help of my wonderful South African vets Drs Shelagh Hahn and Natasha Ross. It took a lot of personal finance and dedication and great generous people opening their hearts and homes to new kitties.
I am grateful for the whole team helping out with all the cats.. its wonderful. I have 6 ferals and I have them all fixed. At one time I had 14 but over the years I am down to 6. I love them very much and they love me and trust me.
My GF and I rescued a pair of feral kittens found in the old "outhouse" shed in my backyard in 2022. We lost 1 a week after rescuing them to what the vet guessed was FIP. Her brother made it through a scare where he wouldn't eat without assisting him. He's now a happy spoiled fat young man whose only worry is when is it treat time

Trap Neuter Return transformed my neighborhood into a clean and safe place. Cats who are here now are wanted cats, cared for cats, not cats who scream and fight and give birth in carports, get tormented by very wrong people, nor do they get killed by cars or other animals. As the population declines the number of birds increases. Occasionally we'll get an outlier and I'll trap it if I can and take it to get neutered. This program doesn't kill cats. The people who do this work love cats, and so can humans by caring for them.
Feral cat colonies are terrible for natural wildlife. What they do is spay or neuter the cat, then return it to the colony. Over time, there are no kittens to replace the older cats, so the colony naturally fades away.
Terrible parenting not preparing the little girl with the kittens finding new homes. Hopefully the kittens aren't all alone at their new homes with no cat playmates.

To @claudiakar - It does not take long for a cat loving person to begin feeding and rescuing a few ferals and end up with many. Once I was housing 21 cats and kittens pre-adoption in a three bedroom home with my family of four. To @CatDaddySteve - Good for you. Start looking for a sympathetic vet who will help you out with reduced rates - they do exist.

I dont know that little girl, but I'm proud of her. What a GREAT teaching moment as a parent to let her know when they get adopted.
I absolutely love Dr Jeff’s commitment to all the animals! Central Victoria Australia 🇦🇺

This reminds me of MASH. Hawkeye would this "meatball surgery".
Thank you so much. Here in Australia we have nothing like this. Any unwanted animal is killed, basically. Its sickening and government funded.
There is NO place in Australia for feral cats.

OMG
wait why do they want to kill off the kitty colonies? :(
