- So how do you deal with Aircraft Carriers other than stay quiet and hope they go for someone else? Having a lot of AA firepower doesn't help, plane kills and AA defence medals are just a placebo to make you feel less bad about getting roflstomped from the air. One person at least seems to have an answer. Of course he's as mad as a box of frogs.

It's still working, I can confirm.
@@italomorais9424 Yup, works like a charm. 1,5 year and counting. No CV loss so far.
Glad I employed that Strategy when the glorious and ""''good'"" CV rework came live. Although. I played 3 matches since. What's weird tho is that Wows uninstalled itself afterwards. Eh
I'm coming up on a year of not playing... Mainly due to carrier fun police.. 🤔

Carrier's aren't too bad. Sometimes I enjoy playing a survival horror game.

At this point I suspect there must be some sort of mental defect that makes players actually defend having CVs in their current state in the game. There can be no other logical explanation.
only cv players defend cv. if you play any other class there is no excuse ....
if any decent WoWs players defend CV... they're just masochist for so much stress fighting against CV while a sadist while playing as the CV.
Did you watch the video? The Mogador portion disproves the idea that CV's are all-powerful.
It's called Stockholm-Syndrome I believe...
They will stay in the game no matter what and WG isn´t going to change them a whole lot anymore so what will the repeated bitching do at this point?
I am fully convinced WG is keeping CV's the way they are as cruel and unusual punishment for letting WoWP die. They wanted their airplane game and they're going to get it one way or another, goddammit!
Nah, it's what they gave to those of us who were fighting them to keep WOWP. WOWP got no support, no clan battles and nothing of interest for so long as they tried to kill it.
Why do you think fighters are crap, its to fuck all us wowp players one more time.
@@jediknight1294 Too true. I wanted WoWP to live so badly, but they really went out of their way to screw us over. Literally abandoned the game from day one. Should have taken it as a sign of things to come, but now we pay the price. WG will never fix their games. It's not their way.

Hear WG's mealy-mouthed "explanation" regarding OP carriers and why. Money talks.
I liked that game. The way ground AA interacted with the air battle was very cool
While that IS a funny comment, controlling planes in warships isn't really much of a "plane game" when you can't even control your altitude at all. It's insanely over-simplified, and makes the rest of the game seem like an advanced simulation by comparison.
"Devastating Anti-Aircraft Firepower" is an incredibly funny phrase all on it's own
To be honest, in real life some of those WWII AA cruisers were absolutely devastating against enemy planes. I just wish they managed to carry over that ability to the game, but who am I to argue with WG's Ass-Fuckery.
"Devastating AA" and Other Fun Jokes You Can Tell Yourself

Aye, that it is.
@@aco319sig3 wait until wg releases modern aircraft carriers with F35 fighters armed with anti ship missiles.

Well the FDR is broken, the loitering ability is just unfair.
But as an Oland aficionado (I put my 19 point captain on her), I have to say: you can't really complain about CVs if you sail to the middle cap in a double CV game.
The AA did its job (40+ planes shot down in a few minutes), but the first strike will always make it through.
@@landochabod7 Exactly. Charging straight in was stupid. He also gave full broadside to the rocket planes. Another rookie mistake.
@@tomjamespilcher6472 That can happen with lots of islands around.
But in general, if there's a CV at least wait to figure out how good he/she is before trying to cap the middle in a smokeless DD.
Let alone if there are 2 of them...
As I said, I love the Oland (probably the easiest ship to get AA Expert in), but this is like going broadside in a German BB because "muh turtleback".
It IS an AA DD.
It's just that AA in general does absolutely nothing to a CV player who can count past 3 (which is roughly 30-50% of them).

If you play just play low tier. But then I wish WoWS did better in their matching algorithm. I've seen teams in Blitz that are extremely uneven in terms win percentage and league ranking
@@mpetersen6 "Play low tier" Tier 3 and 4 are the most screwed by CVs, these ships have very little to literally no AA, most if not all their matches are double CVs, depending on the time of day its quite common 5vs5 with 2 CVs per side, they basically dominate.
Wargaming has actually created a game mechanic and class that people hate more than Arty in WOT. I wouldn't have thought that was possible but boy was I ever wrong.
Subs are coming.
yeah. they should remove ability to spotting just like arty in WOT, or reduce spotting range by half
Artillery is cancer? Hold my beer?
I miss old arty :c
Well you see...arty can be one shot by just about anyone and has a long reload...CV? Not so much.
The old RTS CV gameplay doesn't seem so bad anymore now these days.
continue to use those rose tinted glasses why dont you
The old RTS CV gameplay was way worse we just had fewer of them.
@@Nightmare_52 hes got a point at least DFAA did something with the RTS CVs and AA skills ment something and shooting down planes ment something
No, the old RTS was actually very good. It did need some minor balance tweaks, but the actual game play was NOT anywhere as bad as the current one.
Rocket planes alone are game breaking now. That doesn't get to the idea of unlimited planes, and roughly 4x the speed. Plus all the automatic damage repairing and immunity of the CVs. Plus the ludicrous hacks easily available to half decent players.
The old RTS version was MUCH more fun for everyone. It took skill to be highly effective, and there were effective counters to pretty much all CV play. Not to mention that CVs could actually fight each other.
The rework is an utter disaster. RTS was far, far more fun and more a much better game
That fucking thing had a whole different bag of issues.
1) Map area is too small for one CV. Never mind two 2) the CVs suffer little or no effect when they loose 30+ planes in attacks.
Man I miss the old carrier systhem with limited plane count, once they’re gone you got none left

@@mmyatt9560 the planes are unlimited now
@@stevengorton36 no they are not
@@mmyatt9560 The games are not long enough to actually deplete carriers entirely and as far as I am aware, given enough time you can regen back up to full plane count.
It's just broken, I've had a Mannfred Von Richthofen lose dozens of planes in every attack, getting only one strike off per squadron, and with a combined 86 plane kills, he was STILL sending full squadrons at us.
And the chipdamage kept creeping up, considering he was causing between 6 and 11K damage per strike.
So please, tell me how I can deplane a carrier now, shooting them down seems not to be what does it alone.
they should add the HMS Tog II as a premium, semi-submersible. It'll be difficult for the fun police to stop that monster of the seas
Wouldn't that be a TOGboat?
Inb4 it gets devstruck by HE bombs
The tog has no aa and arty is already there main natural predator so aircraft carriers would be able to easily kill them
@@godemperortrump6932 Although it's far harder to directly hit a TOG with bombs, torpedoes, rockets or shells, the explosions they leave for most of these mentioned are usually more than enough to kill a TOG

Used to be a CV user before the rework, it was quite a steep learning curve but rewarding at the end. Although could be quite OP, but this, in my opinion, is countered by limited number of aircraft. It was fun duelling using CV’s fighters with enemy CV air operations. At least, then DD was playable haha, now it’s mostly depending whether the enemy CV decides to delete DDs...
they don't even have to do that just spot them and the team will kill them. Unless well....ya know, they have a fetish for getting torpedoed.
i remember I used to have my carrier upfront as an AA barge while my squadrons were all scouts on different parts of the map. I always liked playing an anti-carrier style where my fighters would intercept. It kept my planes alive and once the AA started getting low I could freely crossdrop and bomb whoever i wanted.
me two. i was a cv main before the rework, used to run full strike loadouts. carrier gameplay after the rework just became boring so i sold my carriers for the free exp.
So basically destroyers are useless, in a naval game
Same here, I was a CV user before the rework, which was why I bought the Enterprise, Because I had found carriers actually fun, but after the rework I deleted the game because it took a lot of the fun away from the game.
EXTRA! EXTRA! Jingles is promoting teamkilling, ya heard it here first folks!

The aircraft carriers are exactly what ended the era of artillery battles at sea with battleships. It makes the game no fun at all.
Two CV's in one match should NEVER happen...at ANY tier.
Just try being in a match with 3 CV's, ah....... good times. Thankfully WG removed that.
You say that, when there is SEVERAL instances of this happening in videos that Jingles has made
It’s a CV swarm on Asia server. The biggest surprise is not having a cv. But two cvs is very common
You're absolutely right. It should be 3v3 CVs in tier5, in a 7v7 match. Happened to me in a Nicholas. Wasn't a fun game for anyone.
Come to the blitz version then you don’t even fight one a lot more
The fact that in the first clip the planes were able to get into a position to one-shot that Halland _in the first place_ is in fact a _perfect_ demonstration of the current state of "AA specialised" ships.
Can also tell you that was a perfect storm of RNG with one of the only CVs that could actually do that. The FDR has a metric ass ton of bombs per strike and has super slow tough planes normally at best 1 or maybe at most 2 bombs would hit if any. Those bombs would be akin to getting slapped by a T10 BBs HE shells.
Actually it was a perfect demonstration of what NOT to do in a DD. He was stopped in the cap. (CV now knew he was there) when he decided to evade he drove straight away giving the bombers his full length to hit.
Yeah but who goes straight into a cap in a DD in a tier 10 game????? Convenient that not many people mention that or the fact he gave the bombers the full length of the ship to aim at.
@@Kompoism Also you can hear the bomb release. Do a hard over and braking maneuver at that moment and most of the bombs will miss. The going straight in is a rookie mistake that many players blame on OP CVs and not uneducated DD players..
Next you are going to say showing broadside is the perfect demonstration of the current state of OP AP shells......

I always thought that adding rocket attack planes was a mistake because DDs could only do so much to mitigate the damage, but after seeing that CV deleting the Halland, oh boy...I have no words.
Rocket? More like jet engines
I've been suggesting two solution to fix DD to CV interactions.
Change Spotting from planes to Minimap only so you don't get stomped by the whole team when a plane pops over a hill.
The CV plane reserved should be more "Gated". Delay airplane launch by about 30s at T10 maybe 25 at T8 and so on. This way the surface ship can actually position themselves before getting spotted.
Meanwhile War Thunder ships: My SMS Westfalen shoots down jets in Custom battles.
Yeah because WT planes aren't made from concrete
@@business3173 uuuhhhh, have you flown the JU 87? Flys like a brick lol
Yeah, WT is just as bad, in Ground and Air they are much worse IMHO.
Air in "ground forces" is way OP and the SPAA provided, while decent at times, is more often than not used for anti tank ops,(where they are often more efficient than actual tanks at tank killing). If you open up against air targets the stream of tracers just tells every enemy on the map where you are and you're dead.
Co-operation with other SPAA is near impossible, as just like WoWS, every player is out for themselves and will only activate the brain when some research or grinding profit is available for them.
With the little ship battles I've played in WT ( I just don't like it) the AI provided AA on the ships is the polar opposite of WoWS, almost impenetrable.
Both publishers are entirely focused on the wallet, and use the same tactics to get people to open it. The majority of teh player base must be obliging, or they wouldn't be profitable.
Sure, they need premiums and in game money to pay the devs, but both publishers are guilty of focusing much much more on revenue and ignoring the player base.
But heh, it's a market economy, the bean counters and shareholders rule.
@@iffracem I'm talking about the durability, the reason they don't die very fast in WT is lack of good AA vehicles and the difficulty of shooting something down if it isn't flying in straight lines. Most planes in WT will shatter from just a few 40mm bofors hits, whereas in WoWs it takes three million.
@@iffracem It depends on what tier you're talking about. Lower tiers' CAS is much more likely to get several kills since SPAA takes a large amount of skill to effectively use down there, at top tier SPAA is extremely effective and you'll often get shot down before even spotting enemy tanks if you aren't smart or careful.
Also most of the time in WT ships, if a plane wants to get torps on you, they'll do it 70% of the time. AI gunners are very good a shooting down aircraft only in certain circumstances. Most of what kills aircraft in WT naval is AA from other ships than their target ship, coming in from several different angles.
Jingles: "Now they are both gone"
CV players: "REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!"
Well, I think any CV players with brain would also acknowledge that current CV is so cancerous for the game.
Two days ago I burnt down a cv with my Duke of York doing 10k damage and setting three fires (he was 15k hp)
yes so many hate comments by cv players the comment section is starting to burst with all that hate.
@@squirrely_wrath whatabout....
@@squirrely_wrath it is entirely possible that both of those things are bad for the game, but that one is entirely worse.
They need to make it possible to opt out of cv games when you see them in the load screen, or make it to where you can choose to never play against carriers.
Then i also want an option for DD's russian ships and any ship i dont like
@@davidbiemond2478 No, because surface vs surface ship mode is OK.
@@Testacabeza thats what you think, but i dont like torps. My point is that you cant comply to millions of players at the same time.
The big issue is good players trying to counter their stupid shit and making their spreadsheets look nice when they succeed. What they should do is play as a CV and at the start of the game ask in chat which players on the enemy team think CVs are balanced and fun to play against and then proceed to bully the shit out of them. Rinse and repeat until the only one who cares to answer "Yes" is the enemy CV.
Don't try to fix WGs problem for them. Of they aren't fixing it then the only way to get them to react is by abusing those problems to ruin the game for everyone else until WG is forced to fix them.
"I want a game mode without [tank/ship/mechanic" is a bad deal. If you add a mode without this thing, it's a legitimate request to take away that thing in a different mode. And the other thing in yet another mode. And the kitchen sink because you don't like the copper fittings. It splits the player base every way, will increase matchmaking times, and basically invalidates design decisions.
Sure, the devs are willfully awful, and take liberal definitions of 'design decisions', but they want to make sure you 'enjoy' the fruits of their 'labor' and buy a new premium.
The way I avoid carriers is by not playing.
I just watch Jingles and Flambass.
Holy crap, that Mogador! I'm willing to write his name on a note to add a "well played" sticker to that. Absolute awesome and funny :)
I think the rocket strike that did 100 damage was due to French DD mechanic of taking 0 damage in damage saturated areas of the ship
The carrier rework is the reason I don't play anymore. Wargaming know it's utter rubbish but don't care
Hey, they more than enough money from Premiums, why would they care? Players are gonna have an even worse time when Subs come out, and I don't doubt that aircraft are going to be able to spot subs since none of the fights in WOWS happen in deep enough water to hide them, so even subs will suffer the wrath of CV's.
They don't seem to understand the fundamentals of business. Keep your players happy. It's a bad business model that prioritises the enjoyment for 2 to 4 players over the that of the 20 or 22 other players.
@@rickfortier8664 Wrong. They can make a heap of money (and are) by getting new players to buy premium accounts, premium ships and in game money. They play a few games, possibly even top tier, and then most likely get pissed off and leave.
Doesn't matter as the money used to buy the premiums etc stays with the company, the revenue is safe.
Using that model (same one Gaijin uses) they don't have to do the difficult dev work of ensuring the core gamer mechanics are sound, they just need to keep providing more bling and shiny new models to entice new players to keep the revenue coming.
In fairness they were bitching about RTS carriers for forever , just like they were bitching about Artie and tank destroyers in wot. I quit wot when they stripped out half of the open maps, removed the cover and added a bunch of city maps making anything other than a heavy tank unplayable 3/4ths of the time.
@@mrspeigle1 Yeah I hated RTS carriers, both playing and fighting against them. At least after the rework I find them fun to play. Not that that makes them balanced by any means.
Wargaming doesn’t care about their players. They just want to shove premiums in your face and sell event boxes. All while nerfing the hell outta everything that’s not a Russian ship or a CV. Imagine ruining your game for CV players.

@@codename1176 My guy, you could also do the 899 Squad. A tier 8 premium CV and 2 BBs, preferably Musashis. Your Squad CV spots the enemy CV, both BBs get the satisfaction of ramming 18.1 Inches up the CV's holes. This tactic also work with Tier Xs. Get a Tier X CV and 2 BBs, Shikishimas preferred.
@@danishrahim8669 1 it only works VS potatoes 2 it isnt nearly as effective on armored carriers since you rely on the overmatch to actually damage them and 3 the reason why 8/9/9 works is because its paring one of the dumbest tier 9 BBs X2 with a CV, AKA the whole comp is built on raw power in which case you could apply that to anything broken or OP and get similar results by being able to roll the enemy team before the CV does. there is a long time of flight on those shells if a CV is half paying attention to his map he wont get hit.
They have to cater to the lowest common DUH-nominator
Carriers should have a limited amount of planes to use over the entire game. Makes shooting down planes a bit more worthwhile, n lets players know that there will eventually be an end to attacks. It also forces carriers to be a bit more conservative with how they use their current reserves of planes left.
2 years late for this, but: they do. Pre-update and post-update had/have a limited amount of planes.

I expect a ton of people to flame me so do your worst.
I don't mind playing against CVs. There are things to do that can mitigate the effect of them that most of these examples failed to do.
1) turn off your AA before being spotted. (1st guy did that but made other mistakes). You enable it once spotted. By then they usually are too close to hit you without going around. Once they move out of AA range turn it off again.
2) Like BBs sailing in straight lines, stop giving broadsides to rocket planes and nose/tail to bombs. That 1st DD was stopped and then gave tail to the cv who hit with 5 bombs. He sailed straight away enabling the direct hits.
3) Stop sailing straight into caps without any support or very little. Trying to be the lone DD hero does not always work.
4) shooting down tons of planes is NOT useless. While the short term effect seems to be, later in the game those cvs become almost useless when they start launching flights with only 2 or 3 planes.
5) Learn to use more than your steering. A good DD player against carriers also varies speed.
Hallands are pretty good. In clan battles we sent a pair of Hallands together with AA turned off. By the time they were spotted they had shredded the planes and the cvs tended to either try to spot only or picked new targets.
I know I am wasting my breath here because people who post comments like "At this point I suspect there must be some sort of mental defect that makes players actually defend having CVs in their current state in the game. I personally prefer WOWS Legends for 1 reason. NO CVs!
@ Benna Bobby SHH don't let wargaming hear that! If they do they'll put carriers in there in about 2 days!
I'm sorry to say this, but CVs come to Legends early next year. They even released a tiny teaser on the official Discord.

"mad as a box of frogs" well in a french dd it is mandatory no? XD
I once divved up in a triple Massa division. It was a double cv game, Kaga and GZ. The 3 of us accounted for about 215 planes between us. The only way we stayed alive was because we were in BBs.
That right there is fucking retarded. 215?! How much bullplop can you take. Game has become a fucking joke.
@Stavros Stamelos Huh? In real life the Essex class carried about 90 planes, and the poster said it was a double CV game. 215 sounds pretty reasonable, by that standard. And I'm sure many were fighters.
After all, real life DDs would usually carry 1 torpedo reload at most, but no one complains...
Imho they should scale back the alpha strike of some CVs.
Taking some damage and fires is fine, more of a nuisance really, but double/triple citadels by German and IJN CVs are a bit too much, especially since in real life it took an ungodly amount of ordnance to sink Musashi and Yamato, for instance.
@Stavros Stamelos Sure, but it's reasonable for an arcade game. Would the Jean Bart really fire full salvoes every 23 seconds (or 12, occasionally), had she been completed? No, but we suspend our disbelief.
@@landochabod7 I think it would be much better to either give them a hard cap on their aircraft, since the Kaga only carried 72 ready aircraft, and the GZ only had 42

"Mad as a box of Frogs" seems a bit tautological jingles, considering that he is driving a box of frogs.
The gitty anime girl captain only adds to the "mad as a box of frogs" feel that the magador gives off throughout that clip.
This game would be a lot more fun if they just removed CVs entirely
The way I see it, DDs getting stalked by competent CVs have as many counterplay options as BBs getting stalked by competent DDs: none. Can't run away if they're faster than you. Can't hide behind islands if they can flank you. All you can do is dodge and pray that your teammates intervene while getting whittled away chunk after chunk.
After years being on the delivering end, DDs are now on the receiving end, and I think that DD mains are just starting to realize how extreme DD counterplay is--either the DD is winning with zero counterplay or losing with zero counterplay. There's nothing in between.
This is why, as a DD main, I've gravitated towards gunboat DDs; I feel like open-watering actually presents more options on both ends and ends up being more fun that way (both because you have more options at any given time and because rounds are more unique).
Nice to see someone who gets it! A competent DD captain is an absolute pain in the ass to try and strike, they keep moving, smoking, angling, turn off their AA so we can't see them.
Battleship verses DD, unless the DD completely misplays especially if there's 1bb vs 1dd at the end of a match, unless the destroyer misplays battleships have no counter!
Credit where it's due....
I do love destroyers myself 😅😅😅
This is why I quite the game
I personally feel AC shouldn't be in the game, as balancing them is next to imposable. The very fact that AC's by their very nature are OP, after all AC's in RL are the reason we no longer use ships like BB's. The power to project fire power across the map, with no risk to your self is always going to be OP, and no amount of "Balancing" is going to fix that.
The most effective AA is prayer:
#1 pray that the red CV is bad
#2 pray that the CV on your team**[edited] can hit something
+1 bonus feature: the rigorous showing of a finger or two at the planes.
Just imagine if they got rid of CVs or at least balanced them by nerfing them 70,000,000,000,000% (meaning they would be as powerful as every other class). We would lose about 25 total clueless skill-less wimps that only play insta-kill no-die classes, and we'd regain about 15,000 players that are not playing because of the CV joke state.
For some reason, almost all the vocal CV defenders on the NA forums are also consistent defenders of submarines, soviet ships, the santa crates, Peurto Rico, and just about everything else WG does.
Makes you wonder if its just love for WG....
Or if they're alt accounts of Wargaming employees.
Well yeah and i can explain why
- Jingles examples proves there's issues with CVs but not the class as a whole, FDR shouldn't exists as its HP planes are to much and that double CV games shouldn't exists, most CV players agree with this however the Oland against just one CV would have been a completely different story. Cv should have their fires extended and fighter consumables shouldnt be able to spot as it promotes lazy gameplay on CV sides.
- Submarines...why not? why not add more variety into the game? were submarines not in ww2? i would like to play them in WOW, maybe it will be the submarines that will be the main counter to CVs?
- Peurto Rico, we all know that was a disaster but Odin and anchorage dockyards have been relatively easy
- WG are pretty good with the education side and pay their respects to those in WW1,2, do a lot more than other gaming companies
- Soviet ships - like the fact that majority of the ships are paper ships? there's certain Russian ships that are questionable so Russian biases...possibly
- xmas containers pretty clear evidence that there is some riggory going on there, as everyone is getting the same ships with around one ach random one.
there's pros and cons to everything.
It's a lack of the ability to conceptualize the problem.
It's also an us vs them sentiment where many players blame CV players instead of blaming WG and comizerating with CV players.
Also WG has offered refunds for the xmas containers if you are not happy so........?

See the difference between you and those people is that youre willing to acknowledge that some things need work, and that there are downsides.
The general argument in favour of CVs tends to be a combination of gitgud and "I do fine with it, what do you mean people hate playing against it"
PR was just "haha what do you think, WG is a charity?"
I think a more serious complaint about CVs is that AA on most ships is not a counter to planes. Like, you can be in a DM with dfaa and a MVR is still going to chunk you for a quarter of your health. The problem is that theres no dodging 200kt flying cruisers. I admit that this does overlook the Ikea DDs though since they are definitely an anomaly in terms of AA power. In summary, people hate playing against CV because theres not much you can do against them.
On the topic of subs, gotta push back on you there, the main problem subs have is that they dont do anything but punish aggressive play. As of the latest iteration they are most effective against BBs pushing into objectives without a screen of DDs and cruisers. Not to mention they can meme cruisers and DDs with the MK.48s theyre running. Its basically the CV problem, where in order to kill a sub, he needs to either screw up and get nuked, or you need to sail over it in a DD while dodging enemy fire, and the homing torps
Some of y'all really seem to forget just how OP the old carriers were. A good player in the old CV days could wreck your day WAY harder than they can now.
Yes, but you needed to actually find a good CV player.
And every plane you killed was one fewer plane the CV had.
@@ScottKenny1978 honestly wasn't that hard. If they got to T10 they were good enough to do a simple cross drop.
Edit: the CV can only have so many planes up at one time anyways. I rather deal with planes at the end of the game than deal with 3x more planes throughout the first half.
I mean being able to send all your squadrons to the air and control them at the same time is very powerful but seeing the current state of the game I have no idea how they made only controlling one squadron in that air at a time broken
"mad as a box of frogs" Don't know if it's a UK expression or a Jingles expression. I don't think I've ever heard it here on this side of the Atlantic, but that is an AWESOME expression! Made me giggle every time!

How to deal with carriers?
Have 2 Musashis and 1 Graf Zepplin, duh?

Now that I think about it, that is the real reason it got pulled from the game.
@@nickierv13 *46* cm/45 Type 94 naval gun
@@nickierv13 It's even more nefarious than that. They then started to sell Yamatos for 100 euros.
@@memyshelfandeye318 Per the various naval treaties at the time, ships where limited in armament and displacement. 35k (later 45k tons) tons and 356mm guns for battleships, and 8500 tons and 155mm guns for cruisers.
It was less a treaty to be stuck to and more an agreement of where to start the BS from, and the amount of BS everyone was using makes WG look like a saint.
The US stuck to the treaty, the UK weaseled in some changes to the displacement calculations to let them get free torpedo protection in but otherwise stuck with it.
Germany, Bismarck and Tirpitz where '35k tons' and everyone bought it, mostly on account of the bad design. The cruisers where basically double treaty weights.
The IJN had even more BS. Empty spaces for extra boilers built in, designed for 203mmm guns, built with 155mm to save displacement. Even then, 1000 tons over treaty for the 'treaty compliant' version as built. Thanks to ship construction being somewhat a known factor, given listed detentions, displacement and equipment can be worked out, and people where sort of calling BS on the cruisers. Thanks to really good security, everyone was thinking the Yamatos where 45k tons with 40cm guns even after both where sunk. IJN plans where to be able to engage more than 1 ship, and wargaming out the 2 Yamatos vs the 2 NC and 4 SD seems to be a case of the USN needing to get lucky hits faster than they run out of ships. Even the Iowas are only close to on par and they are the F the treaty but we have to have Panamax.
So when it comes to balancing CVs, Musashi has '40cm' guns, thus it should be against the T6 CVs.
Those weeb voice chat commands make me want to gouge my eardrums out

@@jurajsintaj6644 my second game back in a long break in my Bismark I got dive bombed, took off 12K health and started 3 fires, I couldn't even see an enemy on the map at that point despite a DD going full throttle into the cap and I was down getting on for 20% health in a single strike :S
I know more and more players that report every carrier that they see for poor playing. And tbh, if this helps at all reducing the amount of people playing them, I find it hard to argue against it.
This is true but it doesn't work the other way around. You almost never get complimented only reported. If a destroyer on your team dies they report you even if you're bottom tier carrier and are helping the other side of the map, its only about them and not what you're doing for other team members it feels like. Spotting/killing the enemy carrier doesn't earn you any favors either haha.
Wouldn't be the fist time i've had teammates say in chat they reported/actually reporting me only for playing badly only to be in the top 5 after the battle.
Before the carrier rework, CVs hated my NC, now they don't even care, they will just send more planes...
One thing I will say is that destroyermitch really should have left to find allies to give more AA, staying in the middle like that when his support was dead was a bit suicidal when both carriers saw a lone destroyer for the chewing.
Carriers, the reason I stopped playing.
My thoughts on the FDR... seeing how overpowered a CV they can make for the US so that it seems easy for when they release the Russian CV's...
Then they'll nerf the American CV and tell everyone they were listening.
This game is hilariously broken and I pity everyone who plays it :D
I know people say that somehow a lot of people leave all common sense at the door the moment their gunships spot an aircraft carrier (gunning for it and ignoring other, more pressing targets, but isn’t it because of sheer frustration at having been shafted with an airborne torp or piledriven by a bombing run at least once before? 👀
First Halland did NOT get one shotted...but, fully agree that the amount of damage he took is crazy.
