Actually Jingles, each ship in the cap circle has it's own capture point counter. So even though your teammate in the big stupid battelship is getting shot, you will still be making progress on captureing the point, as you can see in the video.
What jingles is trying to explain is that when there are two ships in a cap circle, the capture points for both are going up by 1.5ish the amount as if there was just one ship, so if one of those ships is being reset by getting shot, then it takes longer to cap with two ships than if it was just one stealthy ship that hasn't been spotted, as then the points would be going up by .75. Those numbers aren't exact by the way they are just an example.
Point is that the cap is shared between the ships. Meaning that if on ship is shot at, for axemple a BB, it can entirely reseat the cap while the second ship, a destroyer is unspoted.
And it's been tested that a percentage of point resets do, in fact, come out of every ship in the circle anyway. So while you WILL make net forward progress, it is actually slower for two ships with one under constant fire than for one ship capping uncontested.

"Citation required" tag needed on that claim that shooting a BB in a cap circle also resets the DD's cap progress. I've never seen evidence of that. I have definitely seen evidence that failing to find and shoot the hidden DD will mean that no matter how much you blast the thing you can see, the cap will make its way inexorably to being capped by the thing you can't. And that happens here! at 10:15, when the BB starts getting hit, at first it almost doubles the time left to cap-- because the BB lost all its cap points, roughly the same amount as the Clemson (they entered the cap at about the same time). Then later, the successive hits continue to increase the timer, as the BB loses its (newly acquired, fewer) cap points again and again. But by the end of it, the BB getting hit is affecting the timer almost negligibly. Why? Because the Clemson has 95% of the accumulated cap points. And at 11:05, the Clemson gets a *solo* cap flag. Because it has virtually all of the cap points.
I haven't played WoWs in a long time, but I still remember having a 16 point captain for the Clemson due to how good it was. Before, it could stealth fire, but even after the spotted after firing mechanic, it still a total of 8 guns when fully upgraded. True, it can only really fire 6 guns at most at any given target, but that is still 6 guns, and while it can't stealth fire torpedoes normally, if you are running away and ships are chasing you, you can stealth torp those ships, and since those ships are to the rear, you can easily get all 12 torpedoes off in their directions.
Regarding AA at Tier IV, the dutch "De Ruyter" has a pretty nasty AA, especially with it's fighter consumable. While it's not enough to repel an air attack, it most definately hurts planes. A lot.
Still blows my mind that DD guns can finish off BB's. OR, that a ship in smoke can see every ship within his range because some spotter can give every detail about every ship the spotter sees and not just show it on the mini map like todays technology, never mind in WW2. That aside, a very well fought battle there Supercharged.
My head canon is the same as table top RPGs, hitting zero HP isn't dying, but the inability to fight back. In WoWS in my mind, hitting zero HP isn't necessarily a fatal blow, could be enough damage was sustained to the crew that the ship can no longer stay in the fight. And if I were a betting man I'd put my money on a 10cm HE shell doing quite a bit to an AA turret, super structure command and support rooms, surface-mounted electronics and fire suppression systems....

WUHU something good again. FInally Also, actschually Jingles, the Clemson is considered the best T4 DD if not one of the best T4 ships in total. Our main character provided the visual example why that thing is THE seal clubbers choice boat in T4, heck her nick name is CLUBson.
They are indeed. Acceleration that would humble a supercar, stopping on a sixpence and a rudder shift time of 90 deg in 0.01 seconds - or at least, that's how it appears :-)
Stay undetected and your torps have a good chance of hitting. The AI bots always react immediately you are spotted and turn in toward you (avoiding those torps you have already sent) and charge you down relentlessly.
That's because bots cheat. ;) They turn as soon as torps are launched, regardless of spotting. Also if you're a BB with HE loaded bots will show you broadside and turn in as soon as you switch to AP. You don't even have to fire, just switch ammo and watch what they do.
@@chimpboy12345 While there absolutely is a sloppy coding issue server-side with bots knowing everyones position, I can't blame them for coding smarter bots to not expose broadsides when spotted by large calibre guns. Would you stay sailing broad if big guns were aimed at you? You don't know whats loaded, but you have an instinct.
Thank you soo much for the video Jingles, low tier matches and tips for advancing players really helps, please if you get more like this with IGN DDs or Soviet BBs please do a commentary. Love the content. Cheers...!!
Super comment from Jingles. I have been considering joining WoW for several months but I wanted to learn all I could about it first. Jingle provided a lot of info which made me decide against it. Mostly I wanted a game that was realistic which WoW appeared to be at first -BUT- I was very put off by the total lack of historical battles, the mix of opposing fleets and the very unrealistic maps. I know of no sea battle in WW2 fought in such narrow waters (this is something from WoT!) I hope the issues Jingles pointed out are resolved but I will not join WoW in any case.
@The Mighty Jingles I just noticed that on the Wikipedia page for HMS Brazen (F91), under trivia, it lists you being a radio operator on her during the Gulf war. "Radio Operator 2nd Class Paul Charlton, during the Iraqi air attack would go on to start the successful RUclips Channel "The Mighty Jingles"[7]." Seems like there are dedicated saltminers out there who are also Wiki editors. XD
Small addition to your statement around 13:15 - the enemy Clemson may or may not have a 10 Point captain. But it ALSO didnt use a camouflage. No wonder it could be outspotted by everone and everything.
I agree that very often the bots at tier 4 are often better than the players. If I end up as the only human player in a game, I almost have to sink 6 or 7 ships to have a chance of my team winning. The enemy bots almost always seem smarter than my bots. I'm sure the answer is in a loot box somewhere. Keep up the good work, Mighty J.
For the conversation topic around 11:45, regarding capping - While it is a little silly your own capping progress is reset, as I understand it the time you've spent in the cap, when hit, is what is reset. If you have 20 seconds to go, and the bb behind you has been in the cap for 10 seconds, then 10 seconds is added to the timer if the bb is hit. While this can be frustrating for the destroyer captain, it's also probable that the bb's presence is a) keeping ships from closing and discovering the dd, b) as seen, provided the dd stays in cap, no matter how many times the bb is reset, eventually you get the cap.
Oh for crying out loud Jingles. The Gangut couldnt turn south because he would never get out alive. He kept the island to his left protecting him from the Myogi allowing him to bow tank the other gangut and simultaneously keeping him protected from the Belefont
Need to make a tech tree "only" king of the seas now. Where you can't use spend to play. The grassroots efforts would immediately overtake the KOS tournament.
To be fair, _Clemson_ had a better shot at a service career than a number of her _hundred and fifty-five_ sister ships, many of which went straight from sea trials to mothballs. Which I guess is the kind of thing that happens when you build hundreds of ships in anticipation of the Great War's 1919 naval campaign and then the armistice happens in 1918. On the other hand, it means the Navy had loads of them just lying around in a drawer somewhere to replace the seven of them that managed to run aground one after the other while attempting to sail from San Francisco to San Diego in 1923. And you thought lemming trains only happened in online games...
The thing about Bots in Tier 4 is that some of them play as stupid as a sack of hammers, but some are damn near perfect. The "Perfectbots" show up in a couple of predictable places, and are capable of firing torps or shooting at you beyond the range that ship should be capable of. While I have dealt with this by using islands (upon 1st contact), there's also the element of surprise, where an island can torpedo you. Wargambling denies that this is possible. "Friendly" bots at Tier 4 are like torpedoes--they're no one's friend. They will block you, and before the Teamkill penalty was changed, they would deliberately connect with any torps launched. If you kill too many Bots in a co-op game, be sure that you will suffer a ridiculously ignominious death in a subsequent game. I'm convinced that vindictiveness is programmed right in there. And yes, the jump from Tier 4 to tier 5 is significant. I don't know under what circumstances this should be possible, but after a game where I was detonated very close to the spawn point, I gave up and sold off my newly-acquired Tier 5 ships. Wargambling denies that this is possible. Nothing to learn there. Between aircraft carriers, and seal-clubbing by obviously superior players in random games and questionable scenarios with Bots in co-op games, I have limited myself at Tier 4 co-op games for the most part. There really are some good games going on there, and there is room to be creative. And dare I say it? There is still a tiny niche left where some fun can be had.
USS Clemson was actually a pretty big deal at the time of its creation as the strongest combination of stability, speed, firepower, and torpedo power. It was knocked off its pedestal by the creation of IJN Fubuki whereupon everyone raced to make their own Fubuki and that is probably the point at which Clemson and the rest of its class were mothballed, because they were superseded by events although they were still decent ships (thus why they were un-mothballed when WW2 began).
12:00 His points are not reseted, only the timer shows sum from all the ships and while Nassau is there the whole time and keeps getting reseted, every time she gets hit her points go to 0 and only Clemsons points remaing. But as the "timer" (countdown is the better word, cause it works as "time" only for 1 ship) takes into account all present ships, it will keep bumping down every time someeone with capture points stacked gets hit.
This reminds me of the early days of War Thunder, even once the started introducing jet fighters, I used to love jumping in the level 0 biplanes and taking on the world with them. Yes they were slow, and didn’t climb well, but what they could do well was dive, turn, and run around at low altitudes. There were few things more enjoyable than having someone in a high tier aircraft roll in on me, expecting and easy kill, only for me to lead them down to the ground, easily turn around inside them and shot them down as they raged!
I miss sailing my chunky and slow Wyoming and its many guns at t4. Ive yet to pop my card out but feel i should since ive been playing free for years. I grinded my way to a Montana with 19 pt captain.
Whil I normally play the Tier IX Fletcher and Constellation, I have a Tier IV Clemson that I enjoy playing as well. I have it configured with the better hull, torpedoes and Fire Control, plus the 102mm/50 Mk 9 twin mounts. The twin mounts somewhat offset the lack of a 5” (127mm) gun. I do wish they would add a third version of the ship, configured like the Brooks sub-class (5 ships) that mounted 5”/51 Mk 7 guns as mounted on the older US battleships. It would provide a little more hitting power and range.
That is the problem with it. You get good at the Clemson and think the game is too easy so you move up to the Nicholas and get slaughtered trying to do the same tactics.
@@ColoradoStreaming yeah, def a drop off in relative power thru the Benson. But the fletcher is still very strong all around in a comparable way. I like the gearing less than the fletcher, but I moved on long ago to the jutland, daring, and vampire for my "all around DD" go to.
11:54 Actually Jingles, your completely wrong, u see, when the Nassau got hit, only the Nassaus capture progress was reset, but his wasnt, because the progress first started to fall down to 21, then 19, then 14, then 12, if a hit to any friendly ship reset your capture progress too, the progress should drop to 0
Actually, I'm not wrong. Because we former CCs queried Wargaming about this and they confirmed that this is how it works. We told them it was the dumbest idea since chocolate fireguards and they told us we didn't know what we were talking about.
@@The_MightyJingles but I'm pretty sure I'm still right, you see ur capture progress doesn't get reset, because it would take you longer to cap on your own, you can test it in a private match, if u cap alone or cap with somebody else but that person keeps getting hit, it will take the exact same time, I just tested it 3 times so that I don't look like a moron Edit: before anybody gets mad and misinterprets this message, no I'm not saying Jingles is a moron, I'm saying I was a moron way too often

Everyone knows consoles need handicaps. Aim assist, unbalanced numbers, significantly less recoil on weapons... and some still say controller is the superior input device.
Concerning capture progress: I think this is largely just a misunderstanding. I still remember very clearly that getting hit while capturing a point will reduce my progress rate by about 10-40%, dependong on how big the hit was. The damage to the Nassau here - in the earlier stages - lengthened the capture timer by a lot, several seconds at a time. In the later stages of capping, however, the time was only shortened by fractions of a second. If only the Nassau were to be in the cap circle, he definitely would not have managed to capture the point. He was hit constantly, the capture progress should've never gone past 10%. As I see it, the capture progress of both players gets displayed on the bar. When the Nassau gets hit, his own capture progress gets reduced and the timer gets adjusted. This happens for both players, so it might seem as though the damage to the Nassau affects SuperCharged's capture progress, but it actually doesn't. In the end, SuperCharged basically capped by himself, because the Nassau was being reset to zero progress over and over again. Checking for times again, SuperCharged entered the cap circle at 09:45 in the video. The Romulus died, so his capture progress was erased. The capture was finished at 11:00 in the video. Okay, looking at it again, it took them 15 seconds longer than would be normal. (1 minute to cap normally.) Results: Somewhat (?) inconclusive, I guess. Yes, it did slow down the capture, but not to the degree one would expect. Kinda weird.
WOT capture area is just a timed thing for all, it comes down quicker if more tanks (max3) are in it but it only takes a hit on one of them to reset it a bit. Hence why in clan battles you protect the first 3 tanks in the area so the enemy can't reset the cap.
Well played Super charged. Nice to see players out there focused on getting wins for their undeserving teammates! No one should have to carry this hard.
I may not be to stealth torpedoes in the Clemson but that doesn't mean I can't madly rush into the enemies and somehow get a cracking unleashed and survived with less than a hundred hp

I have all tech lines grinded to tier 7, but T4/5 still is my favorite tier to play on and against. Maybe it just triggers the nostalgia from when I started the game. So many fun ships to play as well though, Clemson and Swietlana only two of them. I really enjoyed the König back then. Might take it for a ride once again soon.
I remember intentionally divisioning with T5s and T6s to be able to face T7s in this thing. Killing Nagatos and Colorados for the lols in my little Clemson. Nothing funnier in the world when you pull it off right
I play on the series X and our map sizes really hinder destroyers abilities to not be spotted. The maps are too small and battleships' detection radius is usually a quarter of the map size.
Red team must have been going nuts in chat at the Bellerophon not capping. Seems like after killing the Langley it had enough time to cap B and then at least get on C to stop any more points increase by Supercharged's team. Just over 6 minutes elapsed between the time he killed the Langley and the end of the match.

13:40. Enemy Miyogi uses “WASD hax” unfair game play ! Well done Supercharge.
Hey Jingles! Watched Operations Room latest video and loved your recall of a critical point in the Gulf War you were involved in!
I thought he was tackled and spent most of the Gulf War on his face?
Thanks
Regarding AA at Tier IV, the dutch "De Ruyter" has a pretty nasty AA, especially with it's fighter consumable. While it's not enough to repel an air attack, it most definately hurts planes. A lot.
Yup ,a battle group of 2 cruisers and 2BB is almost invincible for air attack on Tier4.
I have been enjoying De Ruyter for the past 3 weeks. its a fun ship to play
Yubari also has pretty good AA. I personally enjoy that ship. The only problem is armor made of wet tissues.
Arcade game = DD guns can kill BB. Simulation = DD guns? What DD guns? Oh, those noise makers over there ..... LOL.
That was a good one, very exciting!
Nice pick Overlord Jingles, Sir.
A great lesson in how to win at low tier matches by using your brains. well done Supercharged
OMG! So I know you haven't said anything about stopping the WOW videos, but with everything going on and you resigning from the CC, I was afraid you were going to nix the WOW videos. I don't play the game but I absolutely love these videos! For some reason I don't watch the WOT or the WT vids, but these ship battles are just so interesting and your commentary is captivating. Love ya Jingles, please don't stop making these!
My first Kraken in WoWS was in a Clemson and it happened on this very map. So this video brings back a very pleasant memory. Thanks, Jingles!
I approve of this WG premium unpromoting!
With the commentary from Jingles, it's always a pleasure to watch!
WUHU something good again. FInally
Also, actschually Jingles, the Clemson is considered the best T4 DD if not one of the best T4 ships in total. Our main character provided the visual example why that thing is THE seal clubbers choice boat in T4, heck her nick name is CLUBson.
I always appreciate a base-game vehicle that eats premiums.
I'd play WOWS, but my computer is Ye Olde Potatoe.
The Bot AI are fucking good at torp dodging though lol.
They are indeed. Acceleration that would humble a supercar, stopping on a sixpence and a rudder shift time of 90 deg in 0.01 seconds - or at least, that's how it appears :-)
Try torping without a lock on the bot. I get a lock, see the gray line, then take the lock off and fire the torps. It seems to work better that way.
Glad to see your still giving it to the man
Thanks for showcasing a Tier IV; the lower tiers are the most fun :)
That was a CARRY......
Such a CARRY.....
Thank you soo much for the video Jingles, low tier matches and tips for advancing players really helps, please if you get more like this with IGN DDs or Soviet BBs please do a commentary. Love the content. Cheers...!!
Unrelated to the CC exodus, I have been playing T4 for the past 3 weeks and it is so much fun/stress free i am not sure when I will give that up.
I was driving the Gangut. I've now accomplished my WoW ultimate goal: minor fame (or infamy) in a Mighty Jingles video.
@The Mighty Jingles
I just noticed that on the Wikipedia page for HMS Brazen (F91), under trivia, it lists you being a radio operator on her during the Gulf war.
"Radio Operator 2nd Class Paul Charlton, during the Iraqi air attack would go on to start the successful RUclips Channel "The Mighty Jingles"[7]."
Seems like there are dedicated saltminers out there who are also Wiki editors.
Great video!
@15:18 Jingles: The aa guns of the Clemson is just the XO farting in the general direction of the attacking aircraft.
I thought it was the cook throwing potatoes at them?
Wow, nicely played, and loved your commentary.
I hope the "ship I didn't have to pay for" Meta sticks around.
bro do you even paddle?
@@Axonteer My cat's name is Mittens!
When are they introducing Jets and Infantry to World of Warships? is it January?
Very well explained Jingles!
Finally, he has returned!! I am happy to be bathed in our gnome overlords true salty presence once again.
12:28 That's also how it is in WoT. If you have three tanks in the cap circle and one gets shot, the bar gets reset for all of them.
who here remembers +/- 4 tier matchmaking in WoT
How about t10 matches with 1 med tank and 1 artillery per side?
I think after that unload on WG by Jingles, there can't be any salt left in the whole of the UK.
Better get mining then...
@@janhgh3400 Not a problem, just keep digging in the existing holes in Cheshire.
Oh for crying out loud Jingles. The Gangut couldnt turn south because he would never get out alive. He kept the island to his left protecting him from the Myogi allowing him to bow tank the other gangut and simultaneously keeping him protected from the Belefont
I was driving the Gangut. You summed it up very well. Thanks!
A great effort. The rewards do somewhat show why higher tiers get played; you get more stuff even if you do badly.
And you thought lemming trains only happened in online games...
thank you for featuring a low-tier / free-to-play ship! 💜👍
this is how I play! 🥰
I'm learning much from this vid. Thanks.
15:30 Oh jingles never change. Clemson has more than just a 76mm AA gun. It has two .50 caliber machine guns too :p
Excellent and Outstanding!!! Thank You!
Love the content, salt included.
I like the fact that this player has been farming Krakens and double strikes but he forgot WG does not give flags anymore for those activities!
Anyone else waiting for "That could be considered good, that could be considered bad, that could be considered ugly."? Jingles! Missed opportunity.
Couple years ago I argued the Clemson pound for pound was the most Op tech line ship in the game! Ah....good times:)
11:54
Actually Jingles, your completely wrong, u see, when the Nassau got hit, only the Nassaus capture progress was reset, but his wasnt, because the progress first started to fall down to 21, then 19, then 14, then 12, if a hit to any friendly ship reset your capture progress too, the progress should drop to 0
Actually, I'm not wrong. Because we former CCs queried Wargaming about this and they confirmed that this is how it works. We told them it was the dumbest idea since chocolate fireguards and they told us we didn't know what we were talking about.
It affects your cap progress, but doesn't completely resets it zero I guess
@@Brian-wz5uk that's what I thought too
@@The_MightyJingles what do you mean, chocolate fire guards are a great idea.
But yeah you had it rough with warhellno
@@The_MightyJingles but I'm pretty sure I'm still right, you see ur capture progress doesn't get reset, because it would take you longer to cap on your own, you can test it in a private match, if u cap alone or cap with somebody else but that person keeps getting hit, it will take the exact same time, I just tested it 3 times so that I don't look like a moron
Edit: before anybody gets mad and misinterprets this message, no I'm not saying Jingles is a moron, I'm saying I was a moron way too often
Nothing related to the video at all. But I've been follow you since like the War Thunder beta so like 2012. And I have been following The Operation Room for some time now and I absolutely loved your little cameo in his latest video! And the Gnome Abroad series are so interesting to listen at! :)
Good ol clemson, i always use the superfast reloading shorter range torps on that
Heh. I had a stellar Clemson game at T4 the other day. If you really want to avoid bots, division up. It weights the matchmaker toward live opponents.
Love your cameo/story in the operation rooms latest video. Totally unexpected
Aaaah low-tier WoWs gameplay. Reminds me of a more innocent time, a happier time. One where I was unaware of what the devs were like and how annoyed I would be in the future before un-installing! :(
"Impossible to stealth torpedo with the clemson" WOW Console: Clemson is tier 3 with 4.6KM Detect and 6.5km torps.
Everyone knows consoles need handicaps. Aim assist, unbalanced numbers, significantly less recoil on weapons... and some still say controller is the superior input device.
It would help if the all the WOW Console devs weren't retarded.
@@jmoore4477 I would rather have wow be exactly the same on console as on PC rather than the bullshit wow legends is
Just woke up, and there's no need video from our gnome overlord...this is going to be a long day.
Thanks Jingles.
(1 minute to cap normally.)
Results: Somewhat (?) inconclusive, I guess.
That was a fun one to watch
I hate to say this Jingles but there are more than a few times when the bots in T10 co-op are better than the players.
Well played Super charged. Nice to see players out there focused on getting wins for their undeserving teammates! No one should have to carry this hard.
He doesn’t even have the dual gun mounts upgrade, if he did he would be able to bring 6 guns (3 turrets) to bear at any time. The Clemson is a monster
I actually really enjoyed the lower tier videos. Maybe not tier 2/3 but tier 4/5/6 are always my favourite
I may not be to stealth torpedoes in the Clemson but that doesn't mean I can't madly rush into the enemies and somehow get a cracking unleashed and survived with less than a hundred hp
The Isokaze isn't as dangerous as it was 'back in the day' because of the torpedo speed nerf it got.
When you started talking about wining with two caps even behind on points I was like "Oh wait I need to turn the score timer mod back on. The update removed the mods and I guess I forgot that one." IT NO LONGER CAN BE USED NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
I hate that one too, hope they will fix it soon
I have all tech lines grinded to tier 7, but T4/5 still is my favorite tier to play on and against. Maybe it just triggers the nostalgia from when I started the game. So many fun ships to play as well though, Clemson and Swietlana only two of them. I really enjoyed the König back then. Might take it for a ride once again soon.
Got to say I was looking forward to having a weekly War Thunder video for a while...
Jingles. It has been a while since we have gotten a Yamato replay......perhaps you can correct that soon? Or at least a KV2 or TOG2.....
TOG Platoon Please :D
I miss my old kv2 the he rework has completely gutted the fun out of it...
Box tank perhaps?
Personally, I'd like to see a ship or tank he doesn't show often, like anything that's Japanese.
Always fun to watch a good player in action. Especially when skill count for more than your wallet.
Red team must have been going nuts in chat at the Bellerophon not capping. Seems like after killing the Langley it had enough time to cap B and then at least get on C to stop any more points increase by Supercharged's team. Just over 6 minutes elapsed between the time he killed the Langley and the end of the match.
I think Jingles himself mined more salt on this one than all of us 🤣🤣
The console version is at tier 3 and was my favourite ship as its so easy to play. Had a 5.2km detection with 5.5km torps so hard to stealth torp lol.
On the mobile version it is at tier 4 and has a 5.6km detection and a 5.4km torpedo so no possibility of a stealth kill.
The clemson is my second favorite ship in the game right behind the cleveland.
Great game and video
