Having done fuck all for half the game while the rest of the team died, our “hero” bothers to show up and wins the game. This was a self inflicted near defeat saved by the Dunquerque getting spotted and sunk right at the end.
That Dunkerque really played well and really REALLY tried his best to win for his team, despite the odds stacked against him. I'd say he deserves some congratulations for at least playing smart and not engaging unless he needed to.
Actually Jingles™, the Vittorio Veneto and its fellow Italian Battleships have objectivelly worse dispersion than every single battleship in the Gneisenau tree (not Schlieffen tree, these lose on Sigma). Only in ranges above 25km or so do they have equal dispersion, but still have better Sigma than the Italians. They do win in amount of guns, which does compensate for that a lot when you get to the 16 guns of the Colombo.
Should see this ship on WoWs: Legends. Some bright spark thought it would be a good idea to give them SAP Secondaries to make up for the low calibre. Things are disgusting when they actually hit.
@@AllAhabNoMoby It’s effective accuracy, not actual accuracy. Many battleships have less accurate guns than Gniesenau but still get more shells on target because they shoot more shit at the wall everytime
I've got a question in regards to smoke screens in the real world. How did they work on warships back in the day? Were they purpose built devices on deck or was it simply a case of throwing more oil into the boilers so you got thick black clouds bellowing out of the smoke stacks? Just curious because smoke screens in World of Warships are white rather than black.
For ships, it was adding oil to the boilers, plus the natural smoke produced by the engine running... but I know the US Navy practiced laying smoke from aircraft quite extensively in the interwar period. US PT boats also had dedicated smoke generators. Look up "PT Boat Forum MK-2 Smoke Generator" for more on that. It's the closest RL we got to destroyer smoke screens like in WOWS.
I never understood the hype about SAP shells in Italian BBs. I got much better results with AP against all targets, including DDs. Videos like this made try the SAP shells more then I should. Always with bad results. Now I almost never use them anymore and I'm getting much better results.
I play often Colombo in ranked (when is T10) and I use SAP 70% and 30% AP but I have my 21p Sansonetti with gun Feeder -60% time to change ammo , and that work well , I have also secondary build , in Ranked where you go close and meet dd SAP is awesome , and when I need to slap somthing on broadside AP is good to make dmg.
You can get some impressive chunk damage with BB SAP, but it depends on the target ship type and where you aim. For instance, it is better to aim for superstructure against BBs.
Jungles opening sentence I totally thought he say “today we are seeing the return of ARP Yamato” 😊😊 I wonder what’s jingle’s position on ARP Yamato cuz it is in store right now.
Thing about the russian CVs is that they are long range, they will drop skip bombs before losing planes, and if you get good at aiming the torps you can also drop those at range.. youll hit less but you can use them as area denial(also they're so slow if you drop them at max range people just kinda forget about them and get surprised when torps suddenly pop up next to them like 20+ secs after the drop). the attack planes.. only use them against weak AA cruiser or battleships.. a destroyer would have to be a complete knob or afk if he gets hit by russian rockets.. (i have seen afk DDs get one hit KO by russian rockets) But unlike some CVs you can actually de-plane russian CVs. I dont remember if it was Malta or some premium japanese cv, but once had a game with a CV that lost over 120(or more maybe) planes during the game and was still launching full flights at the end..
How was this not an episode of A Game of Throws? If the Dun-kur-queue had just stayed on course and kept motoring straight north, he absolutely would have outlasted them. Instead, once spotted, he turned straight into them and closed the distance.
Vittorio Veneto players could benefit by switching ammunition types every salvo as a matter of routine. Around 11:00 in the video, Jingles says changing types causes your reload to drop from 34 sec to 12 sec. You can fire a second salvo at your target 34 seconds after the first salvo normally. However, by changing types every salvo, you can fire a second salvo of your preferred ammo type 24 seconds after the first salvo - with a bonus salvo of the other type thrown in for good measure! In fact you can get a third salvo of the preferred ammo downrange in 36 sec - only two seconds longer than it takes to send two salvos normally - with two bonus salvoes of the other type thrown in for good measure! I realize conditions apply, but why is this not the standing meta-tactic for Veneto drivers? It's not like there is a limit on how much ammo you carry like WoT has. Am I missing something? What is it I don't understand? It seems like whatever hoops you have to jump through would be worth it. Some wise WoW master please enlighten me?
