Garrett, I am doubled over with pleasure and laughter today! I love your sense of humor! “Where’s the Peacock,” “We can do a little bit better than dead grass,” “Hide the vertical blinds under the bed!” I have never liked (or had) any of those either, and your neighbors need to come over and apologize to YOU for slighting you! I’m loving you, your spot-on decorating advice, and your precious wit! Keep it up! 😊❤
Warmth filled my heart when I saw precious little Albert in the Nuzzie. There are several colors together that (to me) date a home...and they usually include ruffles. 😁
@@GarrettLeChic I am mocked by my living room vertical blinds covering my sliding glass doors leading out to my balcony. I live in an apartment. I am vexed and been this way for years. Where/how/what.. do I replace the with? I have no idea whom to call or where to turn for advice... please help! Thanks!
@@vickimanager I don’t know what the rules and regulations are where you live. I would contact the landlord to see if they would approve you doing anything differently before attempting any changes of course even if the changes are temporary while you rent there.
I truly appreciate that you always add in that it’s ok to keep certain things that are expensive to replace…and suggest ways to work with it. For example, replacing stone counters every time a design trend changes is ridiculous. Yet many influencers shame viewers if they don’t have the latest and greatest. Btw, fellow bully parent here!
I am a shortie and love a bar height table, but talk about a reference point, it's because when I was in high school all the cool homes had em and I missed out back then 😂 still feeling called out, love you Garrett! This video was genuinely hilarious. Go tell those folks to stop assaulting your eyes with those vertical blinds, they should be ILLEGAL if you ask me 💀
I love the footboard on my bed. It helps me to keep my comforter in place when I sleep. I use the gap between the mattress and the footboard to shove my king pillows in and doing that also holds my comforter in place. So easy to make my bed in the morning, because all I have to do is sight my straighten my comforter and sheets and then remove the pillows and put them back against the headboard. It’s been a life changer for me in making my bed everyday, compared to when I didn’t have a footboard.
Hi Albert ❤❤❤❤❤!!! I love Footboards….but I LOVE even more FOUR Poster BED Frames. You just want to touch, hold and sorta swing on them..not sure what that magic is..but it is there lol. Maybe that is how Stripper Poles Started 😂😂😂
Garrett -this one cracked me up. The rant about the neighbor’s vertical blinds! The confusion over why someone has taken a peacock’s feather from it! The dislike of bar-height anything! Things reminding you of 2007 middle school, a time that seems like yesterday to me! But… I agree with you on all counts. 😊
Bar height tables. I remember lady saying she bought set for kitchen because she and her husband had bad knees. Much more comfortable for sitting down and getting up. A thought...😊
I’m renting and literally just took all the verticle blinds down out of every window in this house. They are stacked nicely in the garage to put back up when we leave if necessary. I replaced them with nice cream linen curtains. 😊
Absolutely hate vertical blinds! To add to your humour, when people wash them in a washing machine hang them up wet and they dry wrinkled with the ends curled up...and frayed! I got a bar table/chairs because everyone had them, I'm 5', hated it, gave it away within 6 months. We all had an area rug over carpet, lol I don't know why I watch this except for your exceptional humour and roasting of people's taste in design. You'd have fun roasting my house! It's 75 years old (as old as me) in the country, no open concept, plywood instead of gypsum board, no popcorn ceilings though (only plywood!), original doors, trim, windows (gotta use a piece of wood to hold open), siding (shingles), ceramic floor tiles for countertop, laminate flooring (bonus), a bathroom built for kid size. But no vertical blinds or feathers, no faux barnyard/country. And I live by a lake!
I hate vertical blinds. Growing up we had mirrored blinds and it would trip me out every morning come downstairs and the entryway looked shattered lol😂
I’m super funky, but… I make little ballpoint pens with big feathers on them 😂 I just keep them in my art studio. Because it makes coming up with ideas fancy. 💃 haha. That being said I accept your critique of feather decor ✅
I wondered what happened to footboards! We have a 4 bedroom home and three of the four bedrooms have beds with footboards….including the master bedroom. Who wants to see a bed frame? In my opinion, headboards give the bed a more finished look. You are right…you don’t want a tall headboard and you don’t want one too close to the mattress or else you have a hard time putting on and tucking in bed sheets. Love footboards!
You got me right out of the starting gate, I have bullnosed counters in my kitchen! LOL. One of the first things we upgraded in our house in the early 90's was replace the beat-up Formica counter tops that had stains and knife cuts in them from the prior owners. They have held up so well I will just wait a bit and they will be back in style again? I am with you on the vertical blinds, I definitely like your ideas to update them. You were so funny when you mentioned your mom, I bet she loved it.
Hi Garrett! I NEVER click on sponsored links (I usually like to do the hunt for good products myself) but I trust your taste and Alberts of course, so I just ordered two nuzzies! Thank you for your videos and great opinions. I learn something every time or at least think critically through more of my style choices thanks to you!
Thanks so much Jane! My husband and I really enjoy them. I’m very picky about brand integrations on our channel. We decline most offers regardless of the money offered, and I don’t want this to become a sales channel. 😊😊😊
It's interesting that you mentioned all the things I personally find ugly, too. I also dislike high gloss kitchens, especially in weird colors for kitchen: like red, orange etc.
Every time I hear, "Hey there Hi", I immediately get a smile on my face. Great video Garrett. So good. If I were your neighbor, I'd be bugging you all the time, I can hear myself now, "come Garrett, tell me what you think?"...lol. But this is the next best thing. Thanks again luv.
Hello 👋 great video! Needed this with my coffee this morning. Yeah I’m with you Garrett those vertical blinds must go aside from the look cleaning them is even worse, but I got one that’s even worse than that for ya folks here who have those beautiful glass front doors yeah they hang regular curtains ABOVE the door and close them so the strong P.R. sun won’t shine through the door, I need to go around and tell them they can get custom curtains with rod done specifically for doors!!
I have an antique cannonball bed, which has a footboard of course. One great thing about it is that I don’t need to tuck in the covers and the bed still looks well made. It’s just the right height too, not too tall.Ditto with the rails. Just need to have the coverlet slip behind the rails and voilà, perfectly made bed.

I stacked the vertical blinds and used masking tape to hold them together so they wouldn’t get damaged. Hid them under my sofa. Bullnosed stone counter tops from the 80s. 😂 Sweet Garret, Formica (or tile if you were RICH!) was all the rage in the 80s! I’m old, I was there for it. 😂😂 I never miss your videos bc you are simply the very best! Love your style and how you help us decorate around expensive to replace items. 💕💖
I love The Milkmaid even more than Girl with a Pearl Earring. I went to see my son there & we made it to The Hague too. You will fall in love with the city!
Where I live, in Sweden, every countertop is Sharp edge and always have been in our apartments. I would LOVE to have a rounded edge. I have had it with the standard edge. And the blinds. Ugh! So happy I no longer have to see that in my home. I totally agree that they are designed to ruin a room. Finally after decades of being standard in rentals they are now optional. Enjoying my windows with luxorious drapes. If there is one thing that dates a home its hardware and fixtures. By the way, ofcourse your neighbours copy your home. You have a stunning place!
Thanks so much Diana! There are various rounded edges you can consider other than the bullnose type you might like better if you change countertops at some point.
In 1972 I was buying my 1st home in California and at that time they had beautiful model homes completely styled as if someone lived there it was an awesome way to get decorating ideas. That was the 1st time I came across vertical blinds I thought then and I still think it now they have to be the most God-awful ugly looking things that were ever invented for the window I will even take my grandmother's old Venetian blinds over Vertical blinds so I totally agree with you and I understand ban vertical blinds
My mom's house was built by my grandpa for a showpiece as he was a mason. It was a fusion of Frank Lloyd Wright and Japanese aesthetic. My grandma furnished it with Scandinavian and Danish modern furniture, fixtures, and a Japanese garden style landscape. So it was very unique but absolutely gorgeous. The house had windows across the entire back of the house which was a Great Room. The only thing that looked good and worked with the Western view were fabric vertical blinds. They were gorgeous. Drapes, and other things were tried including 2 way tinting but the beautiful blinds just looked fabulous, as well as understated chic. I miss that house more than anything in my life (not incl my mom/family!). You'd have loved it and I know you'd have had as much fun decorating it as I had hoped to. Marvelous, gorgeous home, acutely heartbreakingly missed.
This was a HOOT! You had a burr under your saddle (or your lowered bar height stool),and protected the birds and their feathers and all of our pampas grass plants from marauding neighbors! It was fun.... and as I say in all of your points: twew! twew! twew! Please people, listen to Garrettt and UPdate some of these Ughhhhh (gly) styles and just ditch the others if you have the money. Right on Garrett! And your mother will accept an apology, I'm sure.
I'm a recent subscriber. I love your rant on vertical blinds! There were vertical blinds in my house when we first moved in. They were first to go because I am also not a fan for similar reasons to you.
I still don’t think feathers from a peacock or other birds are the best way we can be decorating our homes. I know I didn’t go to interior design school to suggest something like that when there are so many other wonderful options we can use with a little thought and creativity.
Garrett, excellent advice as always!!! Your whimsical personality makes learning from you very comprehensible. You are brilliant and fun...this is why your channel continues to grow! ❤❤. Where's the peacock? 😂😂😂😂
@Garrett LeChic, another thoughtful & helpful episode--thank you bunches! 🌿💐🙏💐🌿 Btw, peacocks shed their tail feathers, & also, to gratify the hunting instinct of housecats, peacock feathers make wonderfully playful, interactive cat toys! As always, love your channel!! 🌿💐🌿🥰💚😘🌿💐🌿

Thank you Garrett! Love your channel. You can never say to much about vertical blinds. My husband put vertical blinds up in our beautiful, new home like at 7:50 in your video. It cost $$ to widen sliding doors and windows but the look with vb’s is just not classy or elevated. 😢 Anyway, I am always encouraged and have so many takeaways from watching your channel. Thank you for the love and laughter! Have a wonderful day.
Hello Beautiful Lechic Fam! Garrett, I 💯 agree with all of the pinpoints in this video. Whenever I see feather or pampas grass, literally the first thing I think about is my allergies. No thank you. Also, the vertical blinds... there just not the vibe. I love the inspiration pics you included as well. Stunning ❤ Until next time. xx hugs xx.
I love our footboard. It makes the bed look nice and finished, but ended up being just a smidge taller than our mattress so we can still sit on the end of the bed fairly comfortably
OMG! I have those blankets! I got one for my daughter for Christmas and everyone kept stealing it from her, so I now buy them for everyone’s birthdays. Now everyone is very happy! Lol
As a long-time renter, I have always put drapes or curtains over the installed blinds. Extra ability to block out light and don't have to look at the blinds (vertical or otherwise) all the time.
Hi Garrett, another great video. I laughed with you in regard to the vertical blinds, which by the way I never liked. We purchased another Bed frame with the footboard for the exact reason you mentioned, got sick of picking up my duvet every morning which was halfway on the floor. Thanks again for another good laugh
Since I have pet peacocks, I do have the peacock feather as part of my kitchen but obviously it is part of my farm vibe. But it isn’t just random feathers. And peacock feathers are shed every summer so no peacocks were harmed.
*Foot Boards* . Not a fan of foot boards, love the look of a vintage set but foot boards can be a nightmare when it comes to stripping and remaking the bed solo. *Feathers* . I'm the gal that glued feather boas onto lampshades for the boudoir. I give myself a bit of indulgent whimsical grace when it comes to my bedroom styling.
I prefer curtains over vertical blinds for windows but... hubby loves them so I hand wash twice a year to keep clean. The iron cages always reminded me of a medieval castle. As always love your advice.
Hi Garrett's mum. I love your son's channel.
You are so kind

Vertical blinds for the win in my childhood home too! Still there!
Speaking of leaving feathers for the birds, say no to down filled anything.

I don't decorate with feathers, but as someone who has many birds, they do naturally shed their feathers. Don't have to pluck them off a live bird ❤

Hahaha LOVE you laughing at the vertical blinds. And of course the fuzz therapy in the video.
😊😊😊
I agree, I hate vertical blinds they were the first thing to go when we moved into our house!!
Peacocks shed their feathers once a year and just fall on the ground. We had peacocks freely walking around our neighborhood and they were tame.
I still don’t think feathers from a peacock or other birds are the best way we can be decorating our homes. I know I didn’t go to interior design school to suggest something like that when there are so many other wonderful options we can use with a little thought and creativity.
Garrett I, too, hate vertical blinds. First thing I would do if I moved into a home that had them is take them down.
Uh oh, I’m keeping Mr. Peabody’s feathers(RIP buddy). Another fantastic video! Hugs to Albert!

Thank you for your lovely comment! I'm so glad you are enjoying. Have a great day! :)
Garrett Raw! Love it!!
Stunning ❤
Until next time. xx hugs xx.
This was the most hilarious video yet. SPILL THE TEA, Garrett!!!
Thank you!
I think I would prefer a foot bench over a foot board at the foot of my bed.
Hi Garret! Love your programs. Such a sense of humor! 🤣🤣🤣
Thanks so much, and thank you for supporting the channel!
Albert knows what’s good❤️
Great video Garrett. I love your sense of humor. 😊
Thanks so much!
Currently using a comfy loveseat at foot of bed … sort of work as a footboard, right ?😂 always love a good video!❤
I love our footboard. It makes the bed look nice and finished, but ended up being just a smidge taller than our mattress so we can still sit on the end of the bed fairly comfortably
What a hoot! And good advice too!
I love my sleigh bed it’s very cozy!
I HATE vertical blinds too!
Thanks for sharing! Glad you enjoyed the video Carol. :)
Awww Albert in that blanket!❤😊
🐶🐶🐶
I prefer curtains over vertical blinds for windows but... hubby loves them so I hand wash twice a year to keep clean. The iron cages always reminded me of a medieval castle. As always love your advice.
Thanks for sharing!! Glad you enjoyed.😊😊😊
Let them get filthy dirty and maybe he’ll stop liking them and you can get something else! 🤷♀️😂💕
I’m with you on the vertical blinds!
👍👍👍
