You know when I saw this scene and when Omi began to tell her story and the origin of Krampus to her family, I kinda feel sad and sorry for her when she was a little girl because her parents, her village people and town had giving up on Christmas Eve because something went wrong around their village and it turned into a nightmare and it's almost like there wasn't any joy of happiness around Christmas Eve. But Omi still believed in Santa Claus and miracles but it turns out there wasn't going to be any miracles or Christmas and when her parents had an argument the mother ripped off Omi's Santa Claus doll because it's almost like they're saying that they are done with Christmas and there's nothing left for them to do and they don't have anything to believe and to be happy anymore. When Omi pick up her Santa Claus doll she threw it in the chimney because she's giving up too as well because it's over for her, her parents, her village people and her town. Until one night something big and terrifying came to her house and it was Krampus the ancient demon and alternate dark shadow of St. Nicholas. Krampus came to punish the people that doesn't believe Christmas anymore and he brutally attacks Omi's parents in way that they should be punished for not believing in miracles and Christmas no more. But then when Krampus began to leave he left a little bell for Omi in a way that will be something to remember him. But now after many, many and many years later he has come back to finish what he started from the beginning but Omi thinks that all of this was her fault because she was the one that made Krampus to appear and she feels responsible for that but now he has come back to finish what he started by kidnapping and to punish her other family.
I think the reason Omi's parents and her village, whether it was in Germany or Austria was suffering from World War II and the war destroyed everyone's spirit, even after the war ended, they couldn't bring themselves happiness during Christmastime because whatever it was Nazi Germany did to them probably left a psychological scar that would never heal.
Actually the reason krampus came this time is quite similar to omi's situation she gave up on Christmas and so did the last boy who believes in Christmas, theres no finish what he started because krampus has been doing that for centuries it's just a coincidence that omi's grandson did the same thing at Christmas
The story is so sad and spooky though it was in a stop motion style spooky holiday story. Still Krampus is one of the most spookiest stories of Christmas.
Krampus is well-known in German folklore as sort of a boogeyman who has a real problem with bad kids. - Velma Dinkley, Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated - Wrath of the Krampus
Thats why this is important and heartwrenching krampus isnt a sadistic monster hes the emboidment of the darker side of the holidays of stress, envy and disdain krampus is not the devil hes the force of all negaitivy, nastiness and apathy but together put hes not inhertly bad hes just doing his job hes not a bringer put a punisher i always found the true monster in this movie was nasty human beings as omni said they lost the true sacfrice of chrismas just like maxes family, the mither and father hate each other, the cousins are nasty and mocking and the sister is just apathetic and the adults were ungrathful so its a great moral lesson
Everything must have have a Yang. As much as I believe in St. Nicholas I believe in Kris Vom Krampus too. But no matter what I will continue to wish for peace on earth.
As much as I hated this film for not showing a bit more about Krampus, I can’t deny this scene was great to watch along with the other practical effects in this movie.
I hope Krampus comes this Christmas to take my eldest sister away. I feel that unlike the rest of us, she doesn’t care about family traditions, and the Christmas spirit. She would rather do her phone or other non-important things instead of celebrating Christmas with the rest of us. I hope Krampus will come tonight and teach her a very important lesson.
"Your lucky you're soul hasn't been completely corrupted child. I may be a Demon, but I am no savage. And so, I shall spare you.... " "... but as you know all to well, *EVERYTHING,* has a price. Know this; as penance for my coming, you will live the rest of your life, as a reminder of what happens when Hope has been lost, when Believe is forgotten, and when the Christmas Spirit.... *DIES.* And this bell that I leave you to carry with you for as long as you draw breath and walk this Earth, will serve as a symbol of it. That, is your punishment. And the lesson of, *KRAMPUS.* That's me." "Merry Christmas, and Goodnight."
I really love the movie. It is now in rotation every christmas. This animation... damn... all on his own is so stunning... Been wondering who was responsible for this and if they did other animation in that style...
If I am correct Krampus appeared in the world back in the 19th century taking every bad people into hell so what I'm trying to say is her story is true and Krampus is real
The good news is that Christmas is not about whether there is anything to be given, because we have already been given that which is infinitely most precious: God’s only Son.
I would be happy to have my Christmas spirit when I have kids in the future without cruel, without doing something bad but to keep peace without an evil over our heads

Jack Skellington would’ve help Krampus to destroy Christmas for family this year
@@alexdejesus7142 jack and krampus aren't destroying christmas. Someone has complely missed the point
0:12 It started with the wind.
On a cold winter night, much like this. It was almost Christmas. But this Christmas was darker, less cheerful.
But I still believed in Santa, in magic, and miracles and the hope that we could find joy again.
But our village had given up on miracles and on each other.
They had forgotten the spirit of Christmas, the sacrifice of giving, and my family was no different.
I tried to help them to believe again, but we were no longer the loving family I remembered. They too had given up. And eventually, so did I.
And for the first time, I didn't wish for a miracle. I wished for them to *go away.* A wish, I would come to regret.
And that night, in the darkness of a howling blizzard, I got my wish.
I knew Saint Nicholas was not coming this year. Instead it was a much darker, more ancient spirit.
The shadow of Saint Nicholas.
It was *Krampus.*
And as he had for thousands of years,
Krampus came not to reward, but to punish.
Not to give, but to take. He and his helpers.
I could only listen as they dragged my family into The Underworld, knowing that I would be next.
But Krampus didn't take me that night.
He left me as a reminder of *what happens when hope is lost, when belief is forgotten and the Christmas spirit dies.*
You know I was the one losing it
Gosh, that story's so hauntingly sad.
When you're happy the Angels are your friend, but when you're angry the Bad Angels/Demons are your friend.
@@kryptonianpowers I thought about that today while watching the movie I think it's a take on how the Nazis took Jews to camps
@@kryptonianpowers or it could be the 1920 Great Depression that caused the lack of foor(like bread).
Every holiday has a dark side and Krampus is Christmas's.
One of the morals of the story is probably about not giving up hope, keeping the spirit alive and never wishing in anger
NOW THATS A HORROR MOVIE!!!
I would imagine Christmas would be pretty rough after a post World War II Germany
The story is so sad and spooky though it was in a stop motion style spooky holiday story. Still Krampus is one of the most spookiest stories of Christmas.
Yeah I thought so too
This little girl remind me Agatha Prenderghast from ParaNorman
Krampus is well-known in German folklore as sort of a boogeyman who has a real problem with bad kids. - Velma Dinkley, Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated - Wrath of the Krampus
Krampus is actually Austrian another German speaking country. Knecht Ruptecht is German
I stand corrected. Krampus is more Bavarian and Austrian hence why my parents have never heard of him even though they are German

“It’s jolly old Saint Nicholas 🎅 and his reindeer don’t you know”!
He winked to grandma, right?
After dragging her parents out, he gave her a wink?!
And an ornament
It was a sign of "Your wish has been granted"
@@finlandguy427 Oh, I didn't get that and now I got it.
Krampus should've made so much more, such a great Christmas movie, creepy funny and had a great lesson
It would be cool if we got a horror movie prequel about this
Nah, we pretty much know what happened, but sequel would not be bad.
This Is sad😢
Me Too Such a Sad Story
Me too and sad story makes me cry 😢
Krampus: (Doesn’t punish Omi) She’s already had it rough so Imma let her go.
i love that animation
Well he is a hero for getting rid of people for the way they treated to a little girl
Krampus is chaotic good
@@ezrastardust3124 if you can't use violence to get in there head then use kindness to litteratly kill them with kindness
He a villain, chaotic evil. Not a hero.
@@teenforever16.idontwanttob53 well he's not exactly evil but it's like a balanc with him and santa
@@ezrastardust3124 nope u kid. He’s chaotic evil.
2:28 "It was Krampus"
If he had a D&D alignment he'd be Lawful good
Children: AHH KRAMPUS Adults: WOO KRAMPUS WE LOVE YOU🎉
Nice animation texture
I love Christmas
I've never lost my Christmas spirit even after losing my grandmother i still hold onto my faith and Christmas spirit
That’s not how krampus works everyone does naughty stuff from time to time but not even a spirit like krampus can do whatever he wants
Do not wish that to her, she deserve redemption, do not hate your sister forever. Forgive her eventually
@@finlandguy427Some people are beyond redemption. And there are some bad choices that lead to results that are beyond forgiveness
@@DanteWesker612 now that isn’t true that’s just you being vengeful
Your sister doesn’t deserve that
You do.
"Your lucky you're soul hasn't been completely corrupted child. I may be a Demon, but I am no savage. And so, I shall spare you.... "
"... but as you know all to well, *EVERYTHING,* has a price. Know this; as penance for my coming, you will live the rest of your life, as a reminder of what happens when Hope has been lost, when Believe is forgotten, and when the Christmas Spirit.... *DIES.*
And this bell that I leave you to carry with you for as long as you draw breath and walk this Earth, will serve as a symbol of it. That, is your punishment. And the lesson of, *KRAMPUS.* That's me."
"Merry Christmas, and Goodnight."
Imagine if we actually DID hear him speak...
I really love the movie. It is now in rotation every christmas. This animation... damn... all on his own is so stunning... Been wondering who was responsible for this and if they did other animation in that style...
so when Kevin wished for his family to go away ...
The best of the movie
Yeah
Thanks
if i remember correctly Omi was telling about the first christmas after WW2
Krampus not to claim Reward but to punish not to give but to take
That’s clear for family not trapped in Snow globe ending. She still freed outside when she was kid after krampus killed her family
I blame Stevie and Jordan for all this since they took Max's letter and read it in front of everybody so they can humiliate and embarrass him
Good movie
Actually I’m worried that story is real
If I am correct Krampus appeared in the world back in the 19th century taking every bad people into hell so what I'm trying to say is her story is true and Krampus is real
Than he is a hero for getting rid of bad people for not treating the little girl
Is it actually???
God is real hell is real and what's inside of the hell well u dont wanna find out
Psychologically- it is.
During less cheerful, Christmas Eve, the monster people having a favor, like you know getting bread to eat
Wow that is so sad I feel bad for her
Sad story
Such a wonderful actress and her voice (even though shes reading a horrifying heartbreaking tale) is very soothing
And we all live in a world where love hope and generosity are in tragically short supply
Oh my God and goddess the horrible nightmare before Christmas and what ever you need never from greed.
The good news is that Christmas is not about whether there is anything to be given, because we have already been given that which is infinitely most precious: God’s only Son.
Christmas now has 3 horror Icons.
Billy: BLACK CHRISTMAS.
Billy Chapman: Silent Night, Deadly Night.
Krampus: KRAMPUS.
"You Better Watch Out!"
🎅🎅🎄🎄⛄⛄
A Christmas Horror Story
That’s a funny way to spell Eric Idol: Garbage Day!
I heard that Silent Night, Deadly Night caused a whole lot of controversy.
Krampus (past): Yo i ain’t taking ya. Im only here to punish not give.
Krampus punishes instead of rewards and takes instead of gives and he takes her entire family
I would be happy to have my Christmas spirit when I have kids in the future without cruel, without doing something bad but to keep peace without an evil over our heads
Krampus is an enforcer of punishment not evil
The best kind of weapon is the one that never has to be used. Personal philosophy of mine: the best way to get off scot free is to not get in trouble in the first place.
Poor o'mi
Jesus loves y’all. God Bless.
I can’t get over how this flashback the grandmother was having was animated But why was it? It looked so like nightmare before Christmas and Coraline
We should always keep our Christmas spirit up.
This is pretty much the only good thing I love from Krampus.
Even I’m no fan of horror movies.
Or what if Clyde Northcutt indirectly summons Krampus after firing Santa.
Which Christmas movie are you referencing?
