    My 2nd comment after finishing the podcast as Akber requested feedback (sorry for delay). This podcast has been a real eye opener and it HAS made entering the field of standup comedy very tangible for someone like me, you both did an excellent job in the podcast highlighting numerous issues new talent has to face. Also your untiring service to the art form which I was completely unaware of needs to be appreciated. I now love you two even more. Thank you!!
    P.S. I just realized, the RUclips ban in Pakistan in the early 2010s has had a severe impact on underground artforms like Standup comedy and sketch comoedy, this was the time when the content was bubbling and cooking in India while Pakistan was cut off and robbed of this great growth opportunity.

    What are stand up comedians gonna do about cities like Quetta and Peshawar to establish a culture of listening and tolerating roasting in those cities? Any plans? Or is it gonna stay relevant only for the bigger cities?

    Yar where is all this standup treasure hidden? In live shows? When will it be available online, takay logon ko koi idea toh ho? I watch so many standup shows from India, if not full shows, the Indian comedians do release clips from their shows consisting of full jokes. In Pakistan, it seems to be all behind a paywall of ticket, and the ticket prices are exuberant and not affordable for middle class. Toh all of this standup comedy is kind of luxurious upper class entertainment, no?

    • @mutee333
      @mutee333 Год назад +1

      @@ThePakistanExperience I understand the situation, even if the Indian comedian is not getting paid by Amazon/Netflix, they have a circuit of venues to perform at all over the country and they are also climbing the ladder of an eventual payday by the big streaming service, so there is a better pay off for making your material available for public in India.
      Obviously same rules don't apply to Pakistan, I just wish Pak comics were a little bit more open with their content, making bits available online to promote the culture of standup comedy and comedy in general, to push the boundaries.
      Also, why isn't stand up comedy supported more with venues and places? It is strange (and unfortunate) that the only places willing to host this medium are premium venues.
      Perhaps there is no space left in middle and lower class areas for culture of entertainment, except for consuming food.
      Anyway, big fan of both of you and comedy in general.
