I needed to hear this. It’s validating. I’m overweight and trying to lose, and people don’t want me to cause I’ll be less curvy. But my health matters. I want to be thinner, and I want to be healthier. There’s nothing wrong with admitting that and what I want for me will attract the kind of people I want around me

Been trying to get thicker for YEARSSS , & whew came with a lot of pressure and just became way too toxic for me . I’m not against natural weight gain but I am finally free from forcing myself to be something I’m not . Literally the heavy lifting, overeating, bloating, hormone issues.. just not worth it to me … being healthy on the inside is wayyy more important than having thighs and a big butt . We don’t have to change. Girl you are beautiful and the people meant to see us as such will see us regardless and those are the ones actually worth keeping around . ❤

As soon as you said "blood type diet" I immediately knew you were A! That book put SO much into perspective for me and my sister. I attempted workouts and lifestyles that were just not right for me as well. Being thick was just not in the stars for me lol. I'm a Flexatarian, mostly plant based but if I'm eating meat it's gonna be the lean ones (really just chicken) and certain fish. I also have PCOS, but since I just do workouts and eat how and what makes me happy, my cortisol is down and hormonal acne has subsided tremendously. I stick with Pilates (that mind/body connection is deep🥲) , Yoga, functional/mobility workouts and just keep it real with my body type. My spirit 💚 that.

Yeah , I have still made some little adjustments with the blood type diet as well that makes sense to my body and how I feel but all in all my body is so happy that I have made these changes… that book says that Blood type A is supposed to be doing workouts similar to yoga , Pilates ….noooooo gym, high intensity nothing 😂😂.. I’m so encouraged by all you have shared and happy we are on this path now ! !!🩵🩵

@@Angeliquecharlette Yes to everything you said girl! I'm happy to find another A type who's seeing the benefits of this path. I've received the best results (mentally, spiritually and physically) from Pilates and Yoga vs HIIT and weight training. Adding in primal movement has been a game changer as well. I think it has a lot to do with that mind/body connection and feeling grounded. Like it's just you, spirit and vessel... that's it, that's all. Doing what feels good is essentially you giving yourself permission to just BE 💚💚💚

If you know you know. 🥹I relate to every single thing you said. And thank you for saying it. This is confirmation all over again for me. Being a skinny girl growing up the jokes never stopped. My nick name was “boney” for basically skin and bones. We start to think in order to “be enough” and fit in we have to get thick. And last year in the summer of 2023 trying to thicken up is everything that I tried to do to the point my knees couldn’t even take the workouts. No shade to people who are naturally thick and built that way, but for the girls who are not we just were not created that way and have no business trying to hurt ourselves to look like something we are not. I am so glad that I stopped and didn’t go too far with it because at some point I would’ve been on the same weight loss journey. I love my naturally skinny self. ❤

I needed to hear this ❤️ I have a lot of trauma from growing up thin. I’m from an area that is comparable to Atlanta with the whole “thick is everything” beauty standard.
It’s been a struggle to accept my natural form but the fact is I feel way better slim and athletic than I ever did big and lethargic. I just try to block out the noise. And moving away helped a ton, like you said.

I come from a different demographic, but I remember my "thick girl" journey back in 2012-2014. I'm naturally petite, and really short. Being tall and slim was more ideal for Midwest Americans. Being a "thick girl" made me feel like I set myself apart from my peers, even though that body type was not ideal back then. Going through a breakup at the end of 2014 made me stop doing it altogether. I remember feeling bloated all the time though.

Man, Im not done watching this video but the title caught my attention. Lord knows I’ve been struggling with this. I’ve always been athletic but when I hit my 20s I was really really depressed and started to over eat, I gained lots of weight and I found myself wanting to keep the weight to be thick, I was in denial about the health problems it caused, and through my relationship with God He has revealed these things to me and I am grateful to Him. I think for me, I’m somewhere in between. I’ve always been slim up until now but my weight didn’t necessarily say that I was slim, although I was and I looked like it, hope that makes sense. I think it’s just the way my body holds the weight, which is why I got away with being thick for so long cause the weight went to my thighs and butt. I then went from one extreme to another, I figured if I couldn’t be as thick and as heavy as possible then I’ll be as slim as possible but that was me still chasing someone else’s figure instead of just being myself and the weight that I know I’m healthiest at.

God bless you in Jesus mighty name!! Thank you for sharing this! I have been walking with the Lord Jesus , especially regarding my health and lost 32 pounds in a year doing intermittent fasting and it is life changing. I'm only 5'2" so I'm very grateful to no longer be 167lb. I have always been chubby in my childhood and yo-yo'ed unfortunately with my weight and told I was just "big-boned". I'm so ready to let go of that term and thinking that. Hopefully that term leaves the African-American lexicon as well. I am ready to be slim and petite and eat the right amount of food for my frame and hopefully one day catalog model for regular sizing! God has really helped me see what I refused to see as valid regarding the BMI fat percentage rating. Necessary fat is necessary and about 20% max for most people, unnecessary fat is exactly that, unnecessary! I'm safe in Jesus name to let it go! It's crazy how much social upbringing and what is socially considered beautiful or acceptable can actually be sometime unhealthy. I will have to look into the blood type diet! I'm very curious about that and learning how to get lean, stay lean, and be confident. Thank you!!

Those fatty tissues cause you to stop because you are tired or stressed. It's motivating to see you lose that much weight in the gym as you have,
Sometimes it goes back to, not what you do it's how you do it, You keep that good eating habit, exercise, and rest your full size will develop in place
you may not have known to have. Mmm You Be Good
