@@Toadmiilk That was very thoughtful of you! I started with a samurai but I’ve made it the farthest with my Hero. I wanted to taste what each class had to offer so I’ve made multiple characters, I am currently playing a prophet and going places I didn’t know existed on my others. The open nature of this game is amazing, everyone experiences the world differently.
I think you'll really enjoy playing like you described - taking your time and just exploring wherever you want. Being an open game you'll find things you want to do and things you want to come back to later.

@@Toadmiilk Yay, likewise :) I'm just as blind as you on this one. I think you did pretty well on the big emaciated giant boy though! My main question is how does the combat feel? -When I went into DS1 and DS3 after BB I really had to adjust to not having a Rally mechanic, so you reaaally don't want to get hit. I feel like often you were still pushing it in terms of aggression - emptying your Stamina, maybe hoping for a flinch, and then you have to back off and get stuck looking for a time to heal. I've heard this is a lot faster than DS (certainly looks that way) but I used to consider those battles more chess-like - looking for openings, learning movesets, positioning etc. Maybe an angle to consider, though what do I know (at this point, pretty much nothing ;) ) -In BB there was no Equipment Load, in DS there was - above a certain percentage of your weight limit you'd start 'fat-rolling'. I believe it's in here as well, so it's often better to leave weapons/shields you don't use unequipped :) -Coming from BB shield use is not something you're used to (and indeed removing the shield was an incredible gameplay adjustment), but maybe give it a shot. You can still parry, I believe? I'm along for the ride, dear Toad! Biggest of hugs. Cheers! x
Nice to see someone enjoying the game for the open world aspect of it. I really like it for that too and think the open world exploration feels as good as anything since the likes of Skyrim.

Thats me on every game I start.. then like you, realizing its all gonna be covered in armor anyway.. the struggle is real DEVS... give us a way to show off our gorgeous character creation work! Sorry it only just told me you replied! Ended up also choosing Confessor, following in your footsteps 😂 I'm now about 9 hours in and am level 28 I think, so pitiful! I only just got to Stormhill as I've been exploring in the east, getting killed by bears, that sort of thing 😯 Glad you're enjoying it. Looking forward to more of your adventures.
I played about an hour as a prophet, then restarted as a confessor which has suited me better. I'm guessing that you have already figured this out, I didn't until about 6 hours in, if you put your finger seal in your right hand (after your main weapon) you can cast on horse back, which comes in handy when you get more offensive spells. I hope that you're having fun, this game is huge and there are so many things to see and do, there are some things I wish I hadn't seen but that's from software for you.

Can’t wait to see your adventures in the lands between. I’m 35 hours in as a Prisoner, and I’m level 53 at the moment. Absolutely loving this amazing game, so much to see and do. Beat lots of mini bosses, a few main bosses, and got loads of cool weapons and equipment. Can’t stop playing once I start. Enjoy Toad.🙂
So many adventures! And I haven't heard much about prisoner other than the helmet haha. How are you finding that class? I'm so glad you're enjoying it, honestly if I didn't stop at the point I was at I think I would've played until the early hours of the morning. I'm gripped and can't wait to play already!
@@Toadmiilk The Prisoner is a spellsword build. You start with a magic staff and a spell from the start, plus a sword and a small shield. So you’ve got all bases covered really. The starting outfit is a bit crap, but you soon find better armour though. At this point I’ve got some really good armour and +8 weapons, plus loads of cool magic attacks. I’ve uncovered large parts of the map, but I’m still finding things I missed in Limgrave!

I'm finally starting this series since I've finally been playing it myself, but I'm so late! I like how you were laughing at the character voices during the character creation XD I was also sad about the lack of curly hair options :( But sweet, you chose Confessor! The starting outfit looks so cool. That Tree Sentinel is really difficult for being right outside of the starting area lol! Looking forward to seeing the future videos! I went with Astrologer because I rarely ever play a mage-type character in games haha. It was daunting since this is my first ever Soulsborne game, but playing as a mage can be extremely easy yet difficult XD I've been able to cheese a few bosses, but my character is all brains and no brawn lol. Recently, I've switched from an all INT build and shifted more to an INT/FAITH/ARCANE build, and it's really fun! Ikr... #CurlyHairInEldenRing Have a great weekend too!
@@Toadmiilk haven’t watched it as I don’t want anything ahead spoiled, but I’m guessing it’s like breath of the wild in that you can get on the horse and charge to the final boss. If that’s the case, most of the time is probably just trying to whittle down the healthbar

Hey so I have an idea, why not make a group password for Elden ring? It allows us to see each other’s messages, phantoms, and summon signs with a special symbol and doesn’t impede in the normal gameplay

Another great video as always and it’s always fun embarking on a new adventure and it’s extremely knew for you since you haven’t played dark souls yet either, a lot of the combat style and critical attacks very similar. With that being said it is a unique and different play style than bloodborne for sure! Your double handed mode is kinda like your transform mode. And with attacking and shielding it’s a huge help especially in the games that have a shield, as you saw when you had your shield up when attacking common enemies when they struck your shield they staggered causing you to have an opening for attack. As for that dealing with the shield enemies with spears I found holding shield while circling them baiting an attack when they attack it can leave them open for a back stab at attack unless they changed that in this game. Most enemies with shields can be circled until you can get a backstab off lol out playing the enemies 😂😂 Going off that I have found using sword and shield for common enemies and then for bigger enemies where you basically can’t block attacks like the giant thing swap to two hand mode to do more damage with slightly less speed since your gunna be dodging more and don’t really need a shield. As for builds, if you do decide to invest in faith, I would encourage you to find a weapon that also scales with faith so you don’t have to level up extra stats to compensate for that and basically waste level up points but you do you do and what ever your comfortable with!! As for NPCS make sure you talk through all of their dialogue cause you can miss questline and such because of it, usually you will know when their dialogue is done when they repeat the same line so it helps to see But looking good so far and it looks like you are off to collect the pieces of the elden ring based off the cutscene I’m guessing and with that cutscene it’s best to remember those characters names cause they will come up again at some point. But amazing as always keep it up!!

I’ve already decided I’m probably going to invest in faith as I want to have a bit of faith magic behind me and won’t bother too much with arcane etc. There’s a lot to remember and probably a lot of characters so can’t wait to mix their names up 😂 thanks for the tips and catch you in the next ep!!
Haha mage seems fun! I’m sure as you go further into the game you’ll get stronger and be able to get them up close! But long ranged attacks seem safe for now 😂
38:24 It used to be kind of a tradition in Dark Souls games to write "fatty" in front of gaps that *look* wide enough for player to squeeze through, but game won't let you. It's basically saying "haha, you're too fat! Can't fit in there!". I guess "fatty" is no longer on the list of words usable in messages, but players found a roundabout way to convey it anyway :D I'll be sticking around for your Elden Ring ride for a little while, though might stop if you wander into parts of the game I haven't explored myself. I'm around 20 hours in and I'm having a great time ;)

@@Toadmiilk Miyazaki and co. gave all the players a true gift by including words such as "seed", "hole", "dung", "fingers" on the word list... You can imagine what all of these are now used for. I catch myself giving all of them a chuckle, as if I was 12yo again 😂 I am part of Astrologer gang 🌖 In the end I plan to run a DEX/INT hybrid build.

Haha the anime thing may be a design choice yeah :') I went for Confessor as well! Honestly I just liked their aesthetic haha! It is different in a few ways to the Souls games too, seems to be carving out its own niche to a degree which is really fun!
YAY! A new game! Doing great so far, cant say much about this one (watched it on Your channel for the first time, so no experience at all) but it seems, You did a lot progress, was hell of a fun anyway! Cool insert, the name is Zubat by the way. Never liked those, they were never hard to beat, but the sheer amount of them in the Pokemon-universe just sucks.. And YES, it was a golden poop indeed, maybe the Golden Donkey left a little something for You there! I saw a new episode of Bloodborne, how do You plan to go on this one? Will You play both games simultaneously? Oh, and one little thing: I noticed, that pretty much all of the Spear-guys hit in a straight line, so maybe try to evade to the left or right, instead of a straight backstep. Not sure yet, but I think it could help avoid one or another hit.
Glad you recognize that you've been used to Bloodborne, it drives me crazy to see you not using your shield😂 I know in the tutorial it says that blocking uses stamina, but is uses less stamina per second than you naturally restore during combat. So blocking NEVER consumes stamina, it just slows down how fast it restores somewhat. Wasn't sure if you were confused with that, I figured maybe that's why you've been so conservative with using your shield. It took me til a third of the way into Dark Souls 3 to start using a shield somewhat properly (there's generally not any reason to not be blocking during combat, unless you have an extremely specific reason not to be, if that makes sense. For example, if you think you might be taking an attack soon, you might as well just keep your shield up because you can still go straight into a roll from blocking, but if you miss the roll then you still blocked it.) You probably already realized what I said/got better in the further videos, but just figured I'd mention it.
Hey! Thanks for the comment. Using a shield isn’t really my play style and I much prefer dual wielding, I should probably use one but I just don’t like it. Much prefer dodging & dex. I only casualy played Bloodborne (as fromsoftware games...) and i started elden ring... and here i'm... trying to find out what i missed and understand wtf i cannot see any possible progress in terme of story, inventory, level... Just walking around killing innocent animals so i have a feeling of achievement... sad... especially for a 'game'

@@Toadmiilk i went with the hero, he's fun and dynamic and i wanted a classic melee build for my first playthrough, but his starting armour has really terrible defence and poise, and i kept getting stunlocked to death until i found heavier gear and a less garbage shield

@@Toadmiilk Yay, likewise :) I'm just as blind as you on this one. I think you did pretty well on the big emaciated giant boy though! My main question is how does the combat feel?
-When I went into DS1 and DS3 after BB I really had to adjust to not having a Rally mechanic, so you reaaally don't want to get hit. I feel like often you were still pushing it in terms of aggression - emptying your Stamina, maybe hoping for a flinch, and then you have to back off and get stuck looking for a time to heal. I've heard this is a lot faster than DS (certainly looks that way) but I used to consider those battles more chess-like - looking for openings, learning movesets, positioning etc. Maybe an angle to consider, though what do I know (at this point, pretty much nothing ;) )
-In BB there was no Equipment Load, in DS there was - above a certain percentage of your weight limit you'd start 'fat-rolling'. I believe it's in here as well, so it's often better to leave weapons/shields you don't use unequipped :)
-Coming from BB shield use is not something you're used to (and indeed removing the shield was an incredible gameplay adjustment), but maybe give it a shot. You can still parry, I believe?

I played about an hour as a prophet, then restarted as a confessor which has suited me better. I'm guessing that you have already figured this out, I didn't until about 6 hours in, if you put your finger seal in your right hand (after your main weapon) you can cast on horse back, which comes in handy when you get more offensive spells. I hope that you're having fun, this game is huge and there are so many things to see and do, there are some things I wish I hadn't seen but that's from software for you.

Playing this game first time I was stuck on those guards outside the church of Elle for a week, first seriously challenging game I've ever played 😭
Can’t wait to see your adventures in the lands between. I’m 35 hours in as a Prisoner, and I’m level 53 at the moment. Absolutely loving this amazing game, so much to see and do. Beat lots of mini bosses, a few main bosses, and got loads of cool weapons and equipment. Can’t stop playing once I start. Enjoy Toad.🙂

I'm so glad you're enjoying it, honestly if I didn't stop at the point I was at I think I would've played until the early hours of the morning. I'm gripped and can't wait to play already!
@@Toadmiilk The Prisoner is a spellsword build. You start with a magic staff and a spell from the start, plus a sword and a small shield. So you’ve got all bases covered really. The starting outfit is a bit crap, but you soon find better armour though. At this point I’ve got some really good armour and +8 weapons, plus loads of cool magic attacks. I’ve uncovered large parts of the map, but I’m still finding things I missed in Limgrave!

Pretty much explored a similar amount too yourself here + a few things here & there xD My first main objective though was to get the Grave Scythe so I've just acquired that right before finishing your video! I went with Astrologer because I rarely ever play a mage-type character in games haha. It was daunting since this is my first ever Soulsborne game, but playing as a mage can be extremely easy yet difficult XD I've been able to cheese a few bosses, but my character is all brains and no brawn lol. Recently, I've switched from an all INT build and shifted more to an INT/FAITH/ARCANE build, and it's really fun! Ikr... #CurlyHairInEldenRing Have a great weekend too!

@@Toadmiilk haven’t watched it as I don’t want anything ahead spoiled, but I’m guessing it’s like breath of the wild in that you can get on the horse and charge to the final boss. If that’s the case, most of the time is probably just trying to whittle down the healthbar

Hey so I have an idea, why not make a group password for Elden ring? It allows us to see each other’s messages, phantoms, and summon signs with a special symbol and doesn’t impede in the normal gameplay

Another great video as always and it’s always fun embarking on a new adventure and it’s extremely knew for you since you haven’t played dark souls yet either, a lot of the combat style and critical attacks very similar.
With that being said it is a unique and different play style than bloodborne for sure! Your double handed mode is kinda like your transform mode. And with attacking and shielding it’s a huge help especially in the games that have a shield, as you saw when you had your shield up when attacking common enemies when they struck your shield they staggered causing you to have an opening for attack. As for that dealing with the shield enemies with spears I found holding shield while circling them baiting an attack when they attack it can leave them open for a back stab at attack unless they changed that in this game. Most enemies with shields can be circled until you can get a backstab off lol out playing the enemies 😂😂
Going off that I have found using sword and shield for common enemies and then for bigger enemies where you basically can’t block attacks like the giant thing swap to two hand mode to do more damage with slightly less speed since your gunna be dodging more and don’t really need a shield.
As for builds, if you do decide to invest in faith, I would encourage you to find a weapon that also scales with faith so you don’t have to level up extra stats to compensate for that and basically waste level up points but you do you do and what ever your comfortable with!!
As for NPCS make sure you talk through all of their dialogue cause you can miss questline and such because of it, usually you will know when their dialogue is done when they repeat the same line so it helps to see
But looking good so far and it looks like you are off to collect the pieces of the elden ring based off the cutscene I’m guessing and with that cutscene it’s best to remember those characters names cause they will come up again at some point. But amazing as always keep it up!!

Toad I've decided to go Mage build and so far it's pretty OP. My other stats are crap so getting up close and personal, i just get wrekt! Lol!
Haha mage seems fun! I’m sure as you go further into the game you’ll get stronger and be able to get them up close! But long ranged attacks seem safe for now 😂

38:24 It used to be kind of a tradition in Dark Souls games to write "fatty" in front of gaps that *look* wide enough for player to squeeze through, but game won't let you. It's basically saying "haha, you're too fat! Can't fit in there!". I guess "fatty" is no longer on the list of words usable in messages, but players found a roundabout way to convey it anyway :D
I'll be sticking around for your Elden Ring ride for a little while, though might stop if you wander into parts of the game I haven't explored myself. I'm around 20 hours in and I'm having a great time ;)

@@Toadmiilk Miyazaki and co. gave all the players a true gift by including words such as "seed", "hole", "dung", "fingers" on the word list... You can imagine what all of these are now used for. I catch myself giving all of them a chuckle, as if I was 12yo again 😂

Haha the anime thing may be a design choice yeah :') I went for Confessor as well! Honestly I just liked their aesthetic haha! It is different in a few ways to the Souls games too, seems to be carving out its own niche to a degree which is really fun!

Oh, and one little thing: I noticed, that pretty much all of the Spear-guys hit in a straight line, so maybe try to evade to the left or right, instead of a straight backstep. Not sure yet, but I think it could help avoid one or another hit.

Glad you recognize that you've been used to Bloodborne, it drives me crazy to see you not using your shield😂 I know in the tutorial it says that blocking uses stamina, but is uses less stamina per second than you naturally restore during combat. So blocking NEVER consumes stamina, it just slows down how fast it restores somewhat. Wasn't sure if you were confused with that, I figured maybe that's why you've been so conservative with using your shield.
It took me til a third of the way into Dark Souls 3 to start using a shield somewhat properly (there's generally not any reason to not be blocking during combat, unless you have an extremely specific reason not to be, if that makes sense. For example, if you think you might be taking an attack soon, you might as well just keep your shield up because you can still go straight into a roll from blocking, but if you miss the roll then you still blocked it.)
You probably already realized what I said/got better in the further videos, but just figured I'd mention it.
Hey! Thanks for the comment. Using a shield isn’t really my play style and I much prefer dual wielding, I should probably use one but I just don’t like it. Much prefer dodging & dex. Found some cool weapons since and still feel the same but we’ll see as time goes on! Thanks though and hope you manage to catch some of the other episodes since this one! 😁

I only casualy played Bloodborne (as fromsoftware games...) and i started elden ring... and here i'm... trying to find out what i missed and understand wtf i cannot see any possible progress in terme of story, inventory, level... Just walking around killing innocent animals so i have a feeling of achievement... sad... especially for a 'game'

@@Toadmiilk i went with the hero, he's fun and dynamic and i wanted a classic melee build for my first playthrough, but his starting armour has really terrible defence and poise, and i kept getting stunlocked to death until i found heavier gear and a less garbage shield
