IMPORTANT: This is a 100% blind playthrough. All the playthroughs on my channel are recorded solely for RUclips because I think that provides the best viewing experience. HOWEVER, unlike usual I livestreamed Elden Ring start-to-finish on Twitch, unsure if this was the sort of "Let's Play" type game that would end up on my RUclips channel. I kept all livestream alerts/labels turned off and tried to keep my chat interaction to a minimum so I could focus on the game, just in case it did end up here. This sadly lessened later in the playthrough when it started to get so long I increasingly doubted I'd put it on here. Each session was 5-8 hours in length, with a total of 17 parts, making it ridiculously long and impossible to edit. It will contain unedited moments where, for example, I take a bathroom break, you'll just have to skip forward :D If you want a higher quality 'Let's Play' experience I highly recommend my DS1/DS2/DS3 playthroughs, all played AFTER Elden Ring:
    DS1: • Dark Souls
    DS2: • Dark Souls 2
    DS3: • Dark Souls 3
    Hope you enjoy!

Terrible choice by Fromsoft, honestly, to give the most obvious starting class for beginners heavy equip load. Vagabond is the first class in the list and the "safest" choice because of the perceived heaviness of their armor. The equip load mechanic is obtuse for new players. It's setting them up for failure without the player even being aware of it.
I can almost guarantee a significant amount of people gave up on the game because they picked vagabond and felt like they were way too slow to accomplish anything.

There's just something special watching someone learn and get better until they overcome everything whilst mastering the controls, movesets and the equipment they collect throughout the game.
Sadly, there's a lot of fake blind playthroughs out there because other DS fans know how addictive it is to watch someone learn a Dark Souls game.

Got to Godrick and was getting so knocked around by him that I ended up deleting my character out of frustration, thinking that I just didn't build myself right. Quit playing for over a year. Now I just got back into it and this time, I brought my A game. As of now, I've beaten Margit, Godrick, and Rennala, among a whole slew of minor bosses. I have Bloodhound Fang to +5. That thing's special attack totally slaps. You hit, automatically dodge backwards and then if you hit the heavy attack button right after than, you teleport forward to perform another hard hit. I'm really mastering the game this time and learning new ways to improve. I've even beaten several of the minor bosses my first try. 2 examples of that is Royal Knight Loretta in the Caria Manor and the the giant dragonkin soldier down in the underground Siofra ruins. Those ones I was particularly proud of cause I know a lot of people really struggle with them.

He starts to get better as soon as he puts away the shield. You need to learn to dodge reliably instead of hiding behind a shield and being passive. Now he just needs to learn that rolling back is the worst direction, and to take advantage of openings. Often dodging into the attack gets you into position to counter, and rolling away still leaves you in the line of the attack you’re trying to avoid.

Very excited to watch this! Good luck! (...but you know... like after the fact). So much of the fun of this is watching somebody else go from not understanding it at all to being captivated by it. The struggle and the achievement bring back good memories of my first experience as well (DS1 👍). I hope you find this series to be amazing by the end of it all.

I scrolled ahead and saw that you finished the game just to make sure I didn't ruin anything with comments.
      * Whenever you were asking the chat for help on what the stats mean, I was nearly yelling `Hit G!` hoping you'd pull up the help menu since it describes it all. I love it.
      * Your tenacity tackling Adam was great, watching somebody overcome an obstacle in this game naturally and through persistence is like.... loving a drug that you only watch somebody take
      * Going around Stormveil Castle! 🤯 Haven't seen somebody stumble upon that in a first go!
      * Looking forward to the rest of this even more now. Also, totally love the unedited approach, it's much better this way and is great entertainment.

You’ve likely figured it out by now but you can only be invaded while doing coop with a friend. However there are NPC invasions that are just part of the game. Alternatively you can put down your red sign if you want to invade in mutual pvp. You can also do random invasions of other worlds but there will be at least two people in that world playing coop. If you don’t want to be invaded don’t bring people in to help you through the game. But also, you can not be invaded while in a boss arena with a friend.

You have probably long since figured this out, but for anyone else wondering, the damage incurred while blocking those multi-hand fellows was because you executed a guard counter after the first hit of their combo. This immediately drops your shield to counter, which left you vulnerable to the second hit.
This is what makes guard counters risky, you have to choose your moment to execute because it leaves you wide open, and many of them are slow to perform.

From beating the game myself, it's great to see another blind playthrough of Elden Ring. You slowly getting to know the mechanics but still clueless on the world and it's lore is interesting to see. From a player that has played all Souls (FromSoftware) games like BloodBorne, Demon and Dark Souls, seeing this first part of your playthrough definitely felt like we had the same experience on the part where you tried to fight the Giant and minutes before the soldiers in that ruin area for like an hour to get a good feel on the game.

I went into elden ring completely blind about a year after release and it took me about 250 hours to achieve platinum and discover everything with no guides. Honestly, playing ds3 was very helpful since I already knew base mechanics. I'm hoping you have a full play-through on yt because I'm looking forward to watching your journey, cheers.

Being my very first FromSoft title (and a livestreamed playthrough, which I generally don't do) - this ER playthrough was a bit of a mess, especially to start with because I had absolutely no reference or idea of what a FromSoft game actually was. But I loved and enjoyed it greatly. I decided to go back in time and I'm currently halfway through playing through all the Dark Souls games in order (just completed 2, starting 3 any day now!). Those are recorded & edited specifically for RUclips and they're much more thorough. I go out of my way in Dark Souls to pay attention and learn as much as possible. My skill level in DS is night and day 10x what it was in ER. One day I shall return to the Lands Between!
