My husband has become a canned bean snob. If I buy canned beans, he won't eat it. Buuuut... If I pressure can beans, he will race through the jars faster than I can make the next batch.

My mom always canned corn. It seems these days most people freeze it. I'll definitely be trying the WB method this year.

A terrific video with a delicious recipe! I love being able to cook meals entirely from things I have preserved myself. I just told my husband that when I look at all the jars of food it is a visual of my love for my family. There is so much joy in preparing food that you know is healthy and delicious and serving it up to your family. I also find that there are lots of fast meals you can make out of the pantry, like the one you prepared today. Thank you for always sharing something wonderful.

I water bathed some ground turkey for 3.5 hours and everything went well. Then I had some carrots and celery that were going bad so I cleaned them up and water bath them together in pint size jars for 3 hours and now I want to find more things to water bath to save money.

Oh my gosh I just burst out laughing when you whipped out the Taco mix and said "I just add this", I was sitting here watching the video, thinking what spices and herbs I would add at that point.. but in all honesty that's exactly what I do, add a packet or two of Taco mix! Haha!
My poor husband got a shock with my loud laughter.

Hello Lailane, I'm cooking here for dinner and watching some of your older videos and then I came back and saw this new one! Soo excited. I'm diving into wb canning low-acid foods. I was scared before, but my husband keeps encouraging me that it's completely fine because he grew up with his parents and grannies canning, though not meat. Excited because he will start hunting pigs. We live in Spain, so, no pc for us. Though my husband will buy me one if I want, but shipping is soo expensive and if some parts will need replacement then it's another problem for us. So we stick to wb. Thank you so much for all your videos.

At one time you were talking about water bath and neck canning, which brought back memories of my mother canning, and she used the neck method. I am now getting into survival mode, I am truly worried about WW3. I am so excited about finding your channel when I need it most. I am getting ready to can some beef and beans and some rice maybe...then whatever else I can get my hands on... potatoes...yes!!! Again thank you for doing what you do and God Bless~

I love that you open kettle canned your tomatoes. My mom did it my whole life when there were just a few tomatoes that needed to be used up. Like 1-3 quarts. Not enough for a canner full. It always worked. I’m sure my grandma did it too. 💕

I am so happy to have found your channel. It is so informative and helpful! I would love to water bath various soups. It seems that most of your recipes include some amount of tomato, which would increase acid content. Can I WB can chicken noodle soup safely in a 3 hour water bath? Do the Amish can this type of soup? I'd love to do chili, chicken noodle, beef vegetable and a chicken/tomato, cream soup I make. Any advice would be very appreciated. Thanks and God bless you!

that's the only way i do all my tomatoes. I cook them down for an hour so they're more concentrated, but theyre really amazing that way. used to just do whole tomatoes but It just tatses better to me for some reason. always just called them unseased stewed tomatoes, never heard it called. open kettle before, good to know. thanks. i freeze all my corn but have wanted to can it and have been too lazy/busy to bother so far. another good video ❤
