About two weeks ago I decided to order tools and supplies to do dotted ornaments. A few days before expected delivery, my retina in my right eye decided to tear. I've had surgery, and all will be well in 4-6 wees. In the mean time my depth perception is off, so dotting is sort of out for now. Decided to try this painting technique, and its loose and forgiving enough that I think it will work for my crafting bug until my full vision returns. An added bonus, it reminds me of watching my mom do tole painting when I was a kid so many years ago! Thanks for both the ideas, and the fun to watch videos last week when treatment consisted of facing the floor for a week. 😉
I have saved this video month’s ago, I truly fell in love with wanting to do this. I am one of many [im sure] that want MoreMoreMore. ( yes that was one word, grin) so I expect you to do your magic, because I love the turn out. Thank you very much for sharing.. Stay safe. I hope you and family are doing well.
I just made a new one! Check it out: Painted Flower Christmas Ornament - How to paint flowers using brush embroidery techniques ruclips.net/video/iANY2kqMfmM/видео.html
???? Hi Rachel, I was wandering how these beautiful ornaments are holding up. I have been thinking of painting some up as gifts. You are an inspiratin to all us crafters. Please more, more of these ornaments.
I have only just found this wonderful hobby, I am definitely going to try it. I am 82 so if I can get to master it it must be easy….your bauble looks gorgeous. I think you should do more videos. Jean North Wales 🏴
I'm not big on purity. I like variety. It's one of the great things about art anyway! I find this video a lot more interesting, actually. Once I learn a technique, the different varieties possible with that technique can lose their interest for me. So I say, go for it! Btw, my family does Christmas trees different every year. We usually pick a color theme of 2-3 colors, but sometimes we just go for multicolored. It usually starts with picking the tree skirt and topper. We have multiples.
Middle-aged Newbie here... I just happened to come across your channel and I’m in love with your artwork! I am an artist in my mind and heart but have not attempted anything “artsy” since grade school. I’m by no means an artist (more like a blend of stick-figures and Picasso-like monstrosities), however, your video makes me feel as though I could actually make something and have it look good enough to display. I love your explanations on “how to” do brush strokes, dots, mix paints, what to use and not to use... etc... I decided to look at RUclips today to see if I could find any arts and crafts that a newbie might be able to try (and be successful at) to help as a “stress reliever” and to use as a mental break. I’m happy I found you! I look forward to buying some paints and tools so I can come back to your channel and try my hand at one of your projects. Thanks for the inspiration.❤️
Hi Jeanne! If you’re looking for a craft to use as a “stress reliever” you’ve found it with dotting. I’ve tried everything and dotting drops you right into a meditative flow state very quickly. Plus you get to pick colors based on your mood for the day which is extra healing. Welcome to dotting! You’ll love it.
I’m back to comment a second time because I just returned from a trip down the rabbit hole of brush embroidery on Pinterest and then RUclips. WHOA! This is a new world to me. Thanks again for opening the door! I can’t wait to start playing with paint tomorrow!
I LOVE this technique (even more than the dots only projects). I would really LOVE more projects using the Brush Embrodiery technique. Thank you for your kind and giving spirit.

Ooooh velvet painting! That sounds luscious. I can’t wait to do the next one! It’s new to me, so I’m sure there’s all kinds of things we can explore. Thanks for watching!
Love watching you paint with this technique. This ornament is drop dead gorgeous!! Love the contrast of the dark color on the light colored bauble and the white on the dark surface. I love all of them!!
Honestly, I bungled a few baubles before making this video. I don't show the stinkers. It's a fun technique but it does take practice, it's fun practice though : )
I'm making ornaments now. Did a Dutch pour then, when dry & sealed, added some flat back crystals and a bow. Would love to do this to some of them too. I already have your bottles...so excited to try this.
Check out cake decorating, the cake decorators do it using royal icing an alcohol e.g. vodka or a clear flavoring that is alcohol bases. I did it, white lace duplicated on Ivory hardened Icing. It would be could to practice with the icing on a cutting sheet
