- This Dell 1650 had a melted lamp connector. Seems to be a common problem on this chassis. Reminds me of the Optoma HD26,HD141, GT1080 series etc. That chassis is really configurable...
Turns out it's basically the same as the Optoma DH400, DU380, EH416, W416, WU416, X416. The Dell 1550 is basically the same as well.
I spliced the lamp connector into the harness and got it back up and running.
Lastly, I lost the last few minutes of the footage when I recorded the projector on the large screen. I decided to post this video anyway. Hope you find it useful.
Thanks for watching!

As always another great repair! It sure does resemble an Optoma inside. Great work keep the videos coming.
Thanks Todd, I really appreciate it! Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family
Dang that really does look like an Optoma. I do like Dell's case design. Looks really utilitarian. Fans sound nearly the same as that Optoma you sold me too haha. Great repair as usual!
Thanks man, I really appreciate it. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family!
It is always a great pleasure to watch your videos (I work with used projector sales in Brazil and also love cats). Another Dell and Optoma twins for your files: the Dell 7760 and the Optoma ZH500T shares the same chassis and internal components. It seens like Dell and Coretronics had a deal someday.
Thank you so much! I think you are right. I am pretty sure Coretronic built for a lot of companies. I would love to get in touch with an engineer from there to find out the specifics on how that all works.
Good one Frank, Happy Thanksgiving!!!!!
Thank you Roz, Brian, Craig, Sam, Mikey and Korey(and everyone else)!! Happy Thanksgiving to you all as well!
Perfect repair ^^.
thanks man
Optoma, Dell, BenQ does it matter anyway? A design flaw is a design flaw. Just took a look at the new EPSONS (cheap ones 800p and 1080p) and they have taken a huge dive with quality. There is only a power-on button on the devices, the remote is just like a generic google box one and they have removed the air filters completely. Nice repair Frank. I wait to see many new EPSON owners really have a ton of problems with new models after a while.
I totally agree. I suspect they are trying to push people to their laser offerings. You know how I feel about Epson. :)
@@FixitFrank Franky I just ordered a new EPSON and it arrives Monday. It was a REAL Black Fridat deal for almost 40% off. Unboxing imminent and I will compare it to EPSON I already use that is also a dirt cheap model. More on Monday!!!!!
Frank! I love your thumbnails! Guess I need to get some meow cats lol
Or some neon fish!! I'll shill your channel any chance I can. Let me know if you ever want to do a joint video or something.
The lamp I do recognize it same Optoma BL-FU260C They go into Acer too. If you look inside the plug it looks different from the common optoma lamps. It only goes down fully one way around but sadly obviously people are not aware of this and they push the plug down randomly and if it has gone down the wrong way it has only gone half way in and will melt in there.
What model Acer? I thought that too but I can't seem to find the model. If you happen to think of it, let me know and I will add it to the description.
I started keeping all the connectors I can find. These newer bulb/housing configurations are just asking for trouble!
@@FixitFrank The lamp fits the following NEC projector models:
V302H V302W V302X V332W V332X
Fits Acer projectors:
P1287 P1387w P5515
Fits Optoma projectors:
EH416 EH416ED W402 WU416 X402 X416
DAEHHGL DAEWHZN
DAEXHZN DAWUHGL
¿Cuál es el nombre del cable donde va conectada la lámpara? O ¿Cuál es nombre del cable que reemplazaste?
Dell makes projectors too?
I don't think they physically made them like with the PCs. I think these were made by coretronic(optoma) for Dell. It might have been another ODM company but going by the lamp assembly compatibility and the markings on the PCBs, I think it was coretronic.
Please what's the name of this conector lamp
Im sorry I do not know the proper name. It might be a molex brand but I am not sure. We call them e4 but its an internal number.
looks compare of an acer versions
Any idea which one? Im trying to find it myself but I am not finding the right model. If you happen to figure it out, I'll put it in the descriptions. Thanks so much for watching!
@@FixitFrank no problem and hope you find the BenQ SU964 to fix with and at least you don't fix epson projectors any more but even a VS250 that needs to be cleaned
@@FixitFrank the acer is H6510BD
I'll have to look at that on Monday. I think the connectors might be different but the housings do look pretty similar(in some pics I have). The H6510 is a dead ringer for the 1650 now that I look at the projector pics. Very cool. I'm keeping an eye out for an SU964. I might have another high lumen BenQ coming in for cleaning soon. I forget the model but I think it was similar to the 964.
@@FixitFrank ok thats awesome and if my Epson VS250 gets dirty and check lamp hours and if theres a projector place somewhere in Lakeland Florida i live and if best buy Greek squad can fix projectors and clean them and free replacement lamp bulbs
