When the F-16 was introduced one of its big selling points was ease of maintenance; the company claimed you could swap a whole engine out in 30minutes. I hope this holds true for these later designs!
2 b honest, F16 rules the world of Air force in every department of air combat the most stylish and highly capable jet i ever seen in given cost. i am damn sure that f16 block52/60 can counter su-30mki and may b f22
It's actually very stealth, analysts predict it probably has a signature of .00001 meters squared. While other aircraft such as the Su-35 has about 2 meters squared. Stealth doesn't mean invisible on radar, just extremely small signatures.
@adctopgun1 Not to forget better RWR and early detection/warning against incoming missiles. Heard that the new F-16E RWR is incorporated with its AESA radar to warn pilots of the missile launchers' location and could even detect certain incoming missiles allowing the pilot to prepare proper defensive maneuvers.
Why? The F-35 has better avionics, it's stealthy, it's more maneuverable etc etc. Guys the F-35 is a new aircraft, it WILL have issues, JUST like the F-16 did. All new aircraft have a lot of issues, amateurs simply criticize it because they don't understand that.
I might be wrong because I'm sure alot of engineers looked into the subject, but I'm having a hard time believing those ''conformal fuel tanks'' have the most aerodynamic shape possible...
They say any landing from which you can walk away is a good one, and if you can use the plane again it's an escellent one, but I think 1:10 deserves a mention! XD
well i think about $70-80 million a jet.The whole 3 billion dollars project was funded by the UAE to produce the best F16 for them and its simply the best.
@OlderG0ds bro all aesa is that it can scan for air to air targets as well air to ground targets at the same time. apg-68 you have to toggle brtween air to air and air to ground. if you have air to air already selected then your good. With aesa a pilot can lock on a ground target and while selecting an air target which makes it a mutli role a/c. Apg 68 is still a good radar system just makes the aircraft 1D until its selcted for something else.
@Kytescall 300+ USAF F-16's are getting upgrades for the delays on F-35's. I'm a bit curious to see how these upgrades will stack torwards the F-16E model! Only rumors i've heard so far is an AESA radar, and that's about it, but there's gotta be more for a 9.4 million upgrade cost per unit.
The F-16IN Super Viper is a unique new fighter sharing a heritage with the worlds only fifth generation fighters the F-35 Lightning II Joint Strike Fighter and the F-22 Raptor. Evolutionary integration of fifth generation technologies makes the F-16IN the most advanced fourth generation fighter in the world today.
@USAAIRPOWER hi i am from UAE my country they using one of the best Aircrafts in the world and they are: MiG-29 & Mirage-2000-9 & Dassault Rafael & F-16F/E Block-60 but is there Block-70 ?
@USAAIRPOWER i forgot to tell you that we already have 23 F-16IN Block-70 Super Viper one of the Emirates pilot hes name is Sahid Mansour Albana you can see the UAE F-16IN in google image "UAE F-16 Super Viper" look at the flag on the Aircraft
Nope, its the United Arab Emirates Air Force. They use the latest F-16 version called F-16E (Single-seat) and F-16F (Double-seat) Block 60. U would have probably thought this due to the CFT's attached to them...
@SilentEagles The F-22s & F-35s are built for money draining machine as Lockheed-Martin got greedy. I think Lockheed Martin got the idea from Mercedes & BMW that build cars with min practicality by giving lots of fancy electronics components that are not meant to last long so that the owners will always come back to them for spare parts and service. Same thing can be seen in F-22/35. Why need sophisticated electronics just to open the canopy hatch? Cost more and require more maintenance.
@taekarkung Makeover for 3 legacy USAF fighters aircrafts: -Upgrades all 222 F-15E to F-15SE -Upgrades all 646 F-16C/D Block 40/42/50/52 to F-16E/F Block 60 -USN already have 515 F-18E/F Super Hornet. The F-18C/D Hornet should be retired.
Agreed...I wish we weren't putting all our eggs in the 22, or 35 basket...somewhat ironic that we don't use a plane we manufacture...Such a nice one too...great paint scheme by the UAE.
What makes you think we don't use them? Most of the real action is from aircraft carriers. F-18's and what ever else the Navy uses. The US Navy has the most aircraft.
the usaf is not "shitty" it kicks ass. the F-15 has no losses, F-16 has vary few to none, the raptor was not introduced till 2005. but uncle same killed the production due to budget cuts and they think we do not need a stealth fighter anymore.
1:12 - WOW I grew up next to General Dynamics/Lockheed and never saw such an inept landing. Didn't think it was possible to make such a sexy aircraft look so bad on landing!
Lol. The way I understand it is that the F16 generally has relatively poor slow speed handling as a baseline and is one of the factors why the USN chose to develop the F18 over the F16. Those hideous conformal fuel tanks probably makes it even worse plus the belly tank and targeting pod also.
It doesn't like to land and wants to fly. Pilots who have flown a lot of other jets say it is one of the more difficult fighters to land, and there have been scores of F-16 mishaps during landing.
@SilentEagles Probably because we look into long term maintenance and practicality. Specifications can't really tell effectiveness of avionics & weapons, practicality, reliability & durability. Buying the plane is one but putting it into air is another story. That is why not many visit the new F-15SE first flight vids whereas PAK-FA, Su-35, Mig-35, EF2k, F-22 & F-35 are reaching dozens of thousands. It's like forgeting fighter with much combat experience while praising unproven fighters blindly
deyvi69 The Arizona Air National Guards 162nd fighter wing, based here at Tucson International Airport train pilots from different air forces all around the world.
Not true! The UAEAF have both Moroccan and Pakistani fighter pilot instructors for their great deal of experience as fighter pilots back at their home country, most of them are on a civil contract.
@SilentEagles Yes, that's the best thing to do. Always look into practicality, reliability and durability. Quality is important and so is quantity especially when America is so big that it requires certain amount of fighters to patrol, defend and attack incoming bandits and missiles. Imagine having just 183 F-22s and 400 F-35s with much maintenance and attention needed. How to fend off 1000 enemy Flankers?
@adctopgun1 What? UAEAF's F-16E Block 60 is better than any of USAF F-16. It's the first time US has sold an aircraft which is better than the ones we have. Block 60 has an APG-80 AESA, our Block 50/52 has APG-68 which is not as good. Their F-16 is better, but doesn't mean they would win either. USAF teaches them how to fly it.
UAE F-16E/F Block 60 Desert Falcon could knock entire Iranian air force. The F-16E/F Block 60 is the best lightweight fighter than J-10B/FC-20, JAS 39 Gripen, & JF-17/FC-1. UAE should ask USA to upgrade F-16E/F Block 60 to Block 70 Super Viper.
Probably, however the USAF has access to far superior aircraft, if the USAF wanted to beef up it's F-16, it would, and it could afford to reach specs higher then the UAE could. Or simply go with a better single engine aircraft fighter like the F-35A. Don't get me wrong, the desert falcons a beautiful bird, I respect it.
Best F16 ever made.Block 60 is very different from other F16s.block 50/52 is close to block 60 in someways but block 60 is superior. It can take on any 4.5 gen aircraft.Experience pilot with F16 block 60 can take on anything.
There are huge difference between Block 50/52 & 60. In F-16 block 50, its wcs upgraded with latest(2005-2010) databus, which allow F-16 to launch AGM-88 HARM or new future weapons(ofcourse GE engine). In block 52, its same but you have option to integrate ew suit inside airframe(ofcourse PW engine). In block 60, its totally a new F-16 with APG-80 AESA radar, integrated ews, latest(2012-2018) databus, IRST sensor, 3 colored MFDs, HMDS & improved weapon accuracy.
needs of various air forces change, the f16 is obviously still a very capable aircraft, hence they upgrade it to ensure it keeps up with current threats. the requirements when first designed are not considered anymore in this. if the upgrades are suitable, they go on.
Since F-22 and F-35 are way too expensive to own, better give all existing F-15/16/18 total makeover. Giving them new tougher frames, engines, radars, avionics, etc with improved maneuverability. Upgrade F-15s to F-15SE/SF, F-16s to F-16E/F and F/A-18s to F/A-18E/F. Americans aren't sending F-22 and F-35 into warzone anyway so why not remake the existing fighters.
The aerobraking with the nose up was unnecessary. First of all, it's not like the F-16 has a big area-surface to begin with (contrary to Rafales and Mirage 2000s)
+abduljalil alfaheem m.thehindubusinessline.com/economy/in-exclusive-deal-india-to-get-most-advanced-f16-fighter-jets-by-201920/article8835851.ece The F-16 has gone ahead of it now. So no Rafale. btw I had asked for a picture of a Rafale in IAF colors since you stated they were already delivered
Unclear at this time, also the F-35 has been offered. The thing with the Rafale is that the French are terrible at making deals, and they've been price haggling for 5 years straight. In the meantime, Egypt came and bought theres, UAE has also signed, so the French are busy for the next 10 years till their production line is ready again.
Yes the Block for f-16 are for different models and capabilities. All blocks with 0. 30,40,50,60 all have the big mouth intake for the GE Engines. All with 32,42,52 and old 25 have the smaller intake and use Pratt & Whitney engines. The General Electric motors requires more air.
@OlderG0ds and i also seriously doubt that U.A.E can out fight us with a block 60 F-16. India's F18 stand no chance against and we train them and play war games with them. Canada would probably out fight the U.A.E and thats not a joke.
