- USAF Airmen from the 340th Expeditionary Air Refueling Squadron deliver fuel from a KC-135 Stratotanker to United Arab Emirates F-16 Block 60 Desert Falcons.
The conformal fuel tanks on the F-16 Block 60 can carry 3,000+ pounds of jet fuel, a 40+ percent capacity increase.

@@cl9133 I mean why not purchase the F-35s? We have the money, logistics, research and the Human Resources to run these bad boys! And plus when you have Iran to the north and live in such volatile region the F-35 is a necessity. Additionally the Trump administration were easy on us, making the transition/deal smoothly. I understand where your coming from based on your opinion, but the F-35 couldn’t be compared with other fighter jets.

The block 60s and all the conformal pallet equipped F16s are as ugly as hell. A normal F16 is like a prom queen beautiful ,slim ,sexy and shapely these block 60s look like she.s given up on herself and hit Mc Dopnalds big time.

Steve Poll Those are Conformal Fuel Tanks. Aside from adding Range and Loitering Time, the position and shape helps lower the Radar Cross Section, whilst not making Her Stealth, it does make Her Signature appear smaller & different. And the range can be further extended via the use of traditional Drop Tanks, but those are Heavy, Increase RCS, and take-up valuable real estate amongst Her Centreline and Under-Wing hard-points. Plus, air-to-air refueling eliminates the need MOST of the time.
They allow increased and diverse mission-specific load-out configurations, some symmetrical and others asymmetrical. E.g. adding the new Edo Corp. produced BRU-57. The BRU-57, is a newly designed (for the new Viper, other aircraft utilise it as well, but like the new JSOF Joint Stand-Off Munition, AIM-9X-Block II Sidewinder, and others, the F-16 was the first to carry, test, and deploy) VER, or: Vertical Ejection Rack, attaching to one the 9 hard-points, the BRU-57 doubles the F-16's munitions capacity and options. WCMs, Wind Correcting Munitions, from the infamous JDAMs, JSOF, Anti-Ship Harpoon-Class Cruise Missiles, MEADs {MEdium Air Defence Weapons), Electronic Counter Measures and Electronic Warfare Capabilities, SLAMs, and Multi-Ordinance Deploying Weapons, such as the "CBU-30s" consisting of different variants of the CBU-37, 39, and up to the CBU-110 Cluster Bombs/Anti-Armour GBU-24/A Guided Munitions, controlled via the newly updated IDM and Glass LCD Avionics Suite, paired with the LANTIRN II Infrared And Laser Digital Targeting Pod, & the Joint Helmet-Mounted Cueing System (JHMCS) currently finding its way into the heads of all Viper Pilots, this aircraft and the Mid-life Upgrade will see Her in use decades to come.
She's the most widely operated Fighter, the first to incorporate GPS, and She's designed to be "off" enabling the pilot to pull manoeuvres and G-forces unthinkable previous. Probably a bit more info than you fancied, sorry, but She's one of my Favourite Aircraft!

Puzzles me why the USAF doesn’t upgrade their F-16s to this standard.
They were going to but the pentagon never purchased these variants because of the cost and were already developing the F-35 so they didn’t see a point in these and gave them to the UAE
I think I refueled those jets too, but from the fabulous KC-10.
F16Viper has DNA of F22 and F35! Same sensor same radar same weapons except not stealthy! Those birds are the best LCA (light combat aircraft) on the planet.👍👍👍

I admit, I'm biased because I'll only purchase a vehicle with Factory installed Bose® Speakers, Receiver, Amp, and Sub(s). But, aside from my old Technics® DJ-Headphones {real DJing, not Button-Pusher-Bollocks, Bose® are the only Ear and Headphones I trust. Any tanker crews here? Quick question, does the air refueling also refill the external and conformal tanks? Or is it just the internal fuel?
The pilot can decide if he wants just internal or also CFT and drop tanks

Jonathan Daniel Haichin Maybe. But given Her new config, and MLU, the Avionics and Weapons Envelope are several years ahead of Russian counterparts. I'm not saying the SU-35 or SU-57 (T-50 PAK FA, 5th Generation Fighter), but comparable 4th and 4th + + Generation Air-to-air and Air-to-ground multi-role platforms, The Viper will hold Her own. Esp. The USAF Versions.
We are buying 24 f16 viper block 70 for moderating our fighters on same time it will come 13 SU 35 for hard fighters....

Tejas Tasgaonkar We do. We're incorporating them on the F-16 Vipers, F/A-18 Super Hornets, and F-15S Strike Eagles. The latter two aircraft receiving testing with both CFTs and Enclosed Weapons Bays. Not 5th Gen, but defo advanced 4th + + Gen. potential.

Additional fuel and electronics packages were added to the original design... Thats those bulky pods on either side of the cockpit
Conformal Fuel Tanks (CFT) - designed and shaped to reduce drag even when carrying more fuel. Also frees up the wing hardpoints traditionally used to carry drop tanks for more ordnance.

putin is good - that is incorrect. blk 50/52 onwards are capable of carrying cft's. IAI (Israel) designed them in coordination with the u.s.
lots of viper operators use them.
the irst on the nose does appear to be unique to the blk 60, though I am sure other blks have found a way to utilize similar tech if desired

J Wagner Of course. We've sold quite the number to Air Forces globally. The Israeli Air Force operates the second largest Fleet BEHIND THE USAF, but Bahrain, UAE, Saudi, Iraq, Egypt, India, and many others fly different Blocks, as determined by the GAO and CBO.
Indias don't have F16s.
