Welcome back to the final episode (for now at least) of Thing You Didn't Know About Payday! Today I've got some of the best secrets I could compile, coming from my own research, thousands of hours in Payday, and from recommendations sent in by you guys. The "I moved" text on Meltdown is about Almir's Toast. Originally, it was in that spot. It got a lot of youtube coverage so Overkill moved it and left that message there.
Isn't it still on the map somewhere? I remember back in the good ol' days they moved it... twice I wanna say? I think it's either moved to a different map or sitting in a dumpster somewhere.
@@spacedudemark255 Almir's toast actually appears on several maps. Unfortunately, I don't remember where the others are (though the one in the dumpster may have been Aftershock).
However, I do happen to know where the one on Meltdown was moved to. It can now be found on one of the legs of the large, yellow cargo crane located in front of warehouse 3. You need to park a forklift or the Longfellow underneath in order to jump onto the crane leg as the toast is fairly high off the ground.
I knew that just couldn't remember the name of the toast. You can find it on sometimes in deposit boxes or on white xmas

Did you know that Payday searches for the worst teammates available whenever you search for a Stealth Heist?
9 out of 10 players think that handgranates are a good tool for stealth. I counted.
Its why i run stoic for stealth. I never have to worry about badfrags

The “I moved” was a reference to Almir’s toast. It was in the Meltdown heist until the White Xmas heist. Also the statue of lady just has a red smile on her face. A reference to the Joker.

Chandler Riotther no, white x mas was definitely out before meltdown. I started playing payday 2 during the Hoxton Revenge hypetrain event and I specifically remember being able to play white x mas before meltdown released.

About the biting elbows video you mentioned. That was actually done years before hardcore Henry and if I remember correctly the singer of the band directed hardcore Henry as well. Still one of my favorite bands to this day. Highly recommend their music.
yup, the two songs came out first as test runs, then the creators decided theyd like to make a movie in that style
Here are some for ya from og days to current.
1. Big oil day 1 was remodeled from having a street all the way around the house to the layout we see today.
2. Drills on Golden Grin are hard-coded not to break (ever).
3. The clip board on train heist is referred to m.f. Steve's clipboard (he is the pyrotechnics guy in Alesso with achievements holding the same name)
Note on the Shadow Raid heli-forcing: It detect entrances and exits to that area, so if two people go to force the heli and one person leaves the area, then the game assumes nobody is there and it goes back to the 50/50.
How about this secret:
You can make some of the hidden weapons in Payday 2.
For instance, the AMR-16 can be turned into the MK12 SPR. Next, the Gewher-3 can be turned into an old CETME or a PSG-1 [Minus Proper Scope]. Lastly, the KSP-58 can be turned into an older M249.

In Enter the Gungeon, the Payday crossover items mention the tearing bags and when you take damage with the money bag you lose money.

The idkfa easter egg wasn't just ovk picking a cheat code at random - it was the username of one of the first players to reach maximum level in pdth
the golden grin elevators can also be used to trap your mates who havent picked up their gear yet
Some of these are really small details, but it makes the game more interesting!
Kingpin also has some perks based of lines from the scarface movie like "bad guy coming through" or "right to the top"
I don't know If that's a glitch, but in Alaskan Deal, If you get into the boat for the escape in the same time an Assault fades, the heist ends instantly, it's pretty useful in Death Sentence to be honest.

There was a GenSec Elite that uses a Jackal Submachine gun, and shotgun GenSec Elites use to use M1014 shotguns. They were later removed in the roster and the only way you can see them is set spawns or modding the game to spawn them.
I remember an interview or a stream a year or two back. Maybe around the time they were teasing infamy 2.0 that was scrapped. I remember someone telling a story about when they were going to bring PD:TH to its first convention and announce it. They were originally going to name the game Stone Cold instead of Payday. They were informed that Stone Cold was already copywritten by an American wrestler. There's now a song called Stone Cold, I assume, as a call back to earliest of days.

Way ahead of you with the golden grin casino doors, my friend in VR followed me about and annoyed me to hell so I locked them in a lift and then had some dinner before moving every bag. God bless the fact that civilians pressing elevator buttons is suspicious.
5:44 the leaking loot bags were actually implemented in enter the gungeon were the loot bags gives the player more money on kill but at the cost of the player leaking a good fraction of their currency on hit .
I think the "I'm free" and "I moved" were references to almir's toast, a frequent joke from the earlier days of payday 2 where you could find partially eaten toast in the bank deposit boxes. It was a bit of an inside joke to the point if became official loot in White Xmas and appeared as an easter egg on certain heists ( like popping up in the Manager's safe on Big bank). I think I recall someone finding almir's toast on Meltdown saying "leave me alone :(" in a location close to the "I moved" text. Might be something to follow up on.
In the beta of payday 2 the old perk pack mule would let you carry to bags. It was found in the code and nvr in an official update
With the helicopter on shadow raid, it's 5 mins after entering the warehouse building, not entering the compound

The car shop driving portion road also has a "Lucy was here :3" message, i dont remember where, but it wasnt visible (out of bounds) even if you stopped to look for it
4:25 it's literally the other way around. First were two music videos directed by the frontman of the Biting Elbows Ilya Naishuller who later was contacted by the director of Wanted Timur Bekmambetov after he saw the music video and talked Naishuller into directing Hardcore Henry.
With HL: Alyx and its ending, HL3 may be more of a reality than all of us expected before, so I figure that holding on to hope wasn't entirely unwarranted.

The IDKFA on the phones is actually because of a competition OvK did back in 2011, where players would have their steam names put into PDTH. One of them had IDKFA as his steam name, and it was put in the game. The phones were then used in Payday 2.
Wow that's amazing if that's the source for it! I'm still comfortable claiming it's a Doom Easter Egg, even if it's a second hand one...
@@TheKknowley yeah it's still an indirect reference, it's also the source of the names on the signs on the buildings outside the Garnet Group on Diamond Heist
The Kingpin perk deck is mostly made up of references to lines from Scarface; ‘Bad Guy Coming Through’ when Tony’s drunk in the restaurant, ‘Play Rough’ during his last stand against Sosa’s men, ‘Balls vs Bullets’ to his numerous references to the importance of balls in his line of work (felt weird typing that bit out), and ‘Right to the top’ *could* be a reference to a line in ‘Push It To the Limit’, could not, but either way it’s still obviously referencing Tony’s quick climb to power once he kills Lopez.
Not gonna mention that for the Car Shop, the name of said shop is Teuer Automotive. Which Teuer means expensive in German, so it literally just means 'Expensive Cars'. No wonder the gang decided to hit it..
The "I Moved" is actually part of another Easter egg, featuring a sandwich that would normally be in that location. When it's there, it says, "Don't Eat Me" then on repeats it will move to another location and it now says "I moved" where it moved from, if you find its new location it will now say "Oh God"
Bonus Fact: The "I moved" was in reference to the Almir's Toast loot that was once there. The toast was moved about a few weeks after the heist release.
I am VERY glad overkill didn't add any mechanics relating to bag damage. I hope they never do. It's honestly unnecessary and needlessly punishing for just taking damage, which sometimes is out of your control entirely.
Here's a suggestion. The console edition is a broken version of the game with countless gamebreaking glitches such as:
1) Not being able to throw a bag, which brings with it the inability to interact with things.
2) Throwing a bag that disappears.
3) When you walk into tear gas or fire, you have a chance to continue taking damage when you leave it, and stop taking damage when you're in it.
All of these happen in online play, and never happen to the host. Lovely isn't it?
I've seen people mentioning the "I moved" toast, but not the "I'm free" toast. There was a piece of Almir's toast there as well, but only for a VERY small amount of time.
9:26 the "I moved" was in reference to how a piece of toast could originally be found there on melt down. But it has sense then moved yo a new location on the map. But its yet to be found

The MA-17 flamethrower is a very obvious reference to the boring companies not a flamethrower that you can buy in real life and then the psycho knife melee weapon is a reference to the movie psycho and also to the Halloween franchise where Michael Myers uses it as his primary weapon
There's a hunter toy in the heist with Garret. It's under the desk to the left of one of the garret office spawn locations

Didn’t see this mentioned in any of the videos and I don’t know exactly how obscure it is, but on the Trustee Bank heists, rooms getting teargassed doesn’t just randomly happen, and you can actually stop it from happening. At one point in the heist, a helicopter will deploy a few officers onto the roof (which Bain will alert you to, telling you they’re landing on the roof). If left alone, these officers will approach the vents and activate teargas. If you rush up there after hearing Bain’s line and gun them down before they can reach the vents, you save yourself from teargas for the rest of the heist.
I know this works on day 2 of Hoxton Breakout, not sure if it applies anywhere else. The female FBI agents in the DOJ have regular male cop voice lines if you convert them

Oh wow so that's why flamethrowers are the go to in CS, I always thought it was just for CC.
It's possible to secure money bags in safehouse raid if you carry them on your back at the end of the raid.
I love the hidden messages, especially the lucy one with the extra message next to it.
It makes me think a dev put it there to be cute and another saw it and did the same.

Yeah, Hardcore Henry was inspired by Biting Elbows' music videos, not the other way around.
black cat fact: on death sentence in the middle part of the yacht with the garden there's 2 civs sitting and talking on a bench, some of the stuff they say is pretty ironic but generally they just have a normal conversation. Heres some of the lines:
"we're in the middle of the ******* ocean! Who the hell will try a robbery here?"
"li deng i think his name was? (civ 1) huh, sounds like something made up for a video game (civ 2)"

This has definitely been covered but in the OG bank heist there are those two guys outside the bank that bane makes a big deal about regarding John Wick saying to keep them by the van. Also in slaughterhouse, vlad says something about the pig marked with the X. Anybody know what these are about or what the rewards are for completing these “secret tasks”
On PC you get money but on Xbox you get more of a "Good job u did the secret task"

At the Escape section in First World Bank there is a dumpster you can open. Inside the dumpster, if you are looking at the right angle, is a sandwich and developer message that is seeable without no-clip! I will let you figure out the message on your own.

The Biting Elbows song is not inspired by Hardcore Henry. They are made by the same people and, if I'm not mistaken, the clip was made before the Hardcore Henry and in fact is the reason Hardcore Henry even exists.
The loot bag thing, didn't enter the gungeon do something like that? You can find dallas's mask, a loot bag, a drill and I don't remember if there are more, but the loot bag makes it so when you get hurt, you drop money, right?
It's probably gotta be Dallas and First World Bank. It only works with Dallas as an AI and the heist goes loud. Plus Scarface hates cockroaches.

Might not be a Easter egg but I noticed in the movie heat which I know payday is based off of the armored car they hit has the name "gage armored transport"
I remember reading on the steam forums for Payday 2 on the ideas for bags getting damaged that if you got hit in the back while carrying drugs, there could've been some side effects to the player as they kind of get a mild drug injection through that...
It would probably be an absolute mess of a nightmare to implement, but it could've been fun.

Hardcore Henry was the feature length film that the director Ilya Naishuller of those music videos got to make afterwards. He did the two first-person videos for Biting Elbows (his band) (plus several regular ones), plus the the Weeknd's False Alarm, starring Chains as a bank robber.
