Just wanted to point out something about the voice acting: having the voice actors record before the animation is actually the standard for most of the world(doesn't matter if its 2D or 3D). Japan is one of the few places that do it after. I definitely agree that them doing it before for this helped with the overall story, though.
@@reaksmeypak4755 How do you hate school? I love it. Honestly am getting bored of summer and ready to go back. (Corana virus is cancelling everything).
In 2D animation it's more common to record the audio first. Then the animation can be tailored to the feeling of the voice. It's only really crappy or cheap animation that records after (or dubs, which is a different story.)
As Victoria said, that is more popular with western animation, in which the dialogue and audio is pre-scored, but in Japanese animation, usually the animation is done first with the audio followed afterwards.
Some shows use scratch audio actually, like a rough draft for the voice acting something set in place for the animators to then go off of aswell as the storyboard

This was very fun and informative! The work that went into creating the Beastars anime is really fascinating and amazing. Thanks for sharing some cool facts with us! ^_^
If you have characters moving on 2's but the background is moving on 1's you get chatter because the character would be moving back and forth on the screen. The two solutions are: animate the character at the same rate as the camera movement, OR continue the character's forward motion on every frame even if the character's pose doesn't advance, to prevent its arcs of motion turning into zig-zags caused by the camera movement. Yeah it makes sense to choose the latter option because you want the way the character moves to stay consistent.
The animation in Beastars is seriously so different from anything else I've seen in anime, It really is amazing. I bet more studios will begin using similar techniques in the near future.
I still don't understand why some people don't like that it's 3D, I know they usually don't look great or get a bad rap, but this one is different. This animation looks so stunning, and it all comes together beautifully, I honestly think it wouldn't look as good if it was 2D.

I'm personally a huge fan of good animation and it was fascinating for me to see how Beastars was made! :D
in conclusion: Beastars is just a Amazing Anime
woah you put so much effort into this video and all the research you did, even buying the software
I'm impressed. fasted I've ever clicked subbed!
I say with confidence that beastars is the best CG anime ever made.
I remember seeing scenes of beastars on youtube before it came on netflix so right when it got on i started watching and finished in a day....it was sad seeing people not give it a chance
Whats the song in 3:15 it sounds really good. Please someone?
I'm not quite sure, but I do know I mostly used the Beastars songs for this video so you can probably look up the sound track and find it
@@Fursonified i actually did look it up yeah its from the OST thanks mate well done with the video as well
6:15 i will never get bored of those furries lmaoo
I loved this anime soo much. I love the fact that its 3d and 2d at the same time, like how cool is that?? Also, the dub is pretty nice, and honestly i like it better than the original u-u
You deserve SO much more attention than you already have, like, no joke. This shits real good bro.
I honestly feel like the background characters DON'T move a lot. For example, when the group goes to the city, a lot of the background characters are stiff along with a lot of screens in the school.
There is obviously going to be stiff movement, Its just a lot more than other anime's
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏Fursonified sir, you've blown my mind! I adored Beastars before, but your informative and educational video makes me adore the anime even more! I should've known that motion capture was involved with the production; it's my utmost favorite animation technique, and I've always admired how emotive and expressive the characters in Beastars are! 🖖
