Not true. In my time of being a Moscow Conservatory student he was invited to conduct the student orchestra. After a dozen rehearsals concert was cancelled. In his opinion the magic wasn’t happening…

Who exactly is he conducting, a pick-up session orchestra or a well known, well established ensemble?
I heard on good authority he hardly rehearsed with the orchestra before a performance?
