BUT there’s no set standard for what makes a supercar,
Well,

Which makes it hard to say something is “faster than a supercar”

Nice list…I actually like the mention of the Alfa QV; obviously it’s not “cheap” but one of the best modern bang for your bucks out there if you have a little extra to spend. The C5 prolly still holds title of best bargain supercar.

I wouldn't exactly call $40k "cheap", more like "affordable". However, proper context was applied here. Therefore, compared to $1.5m, $40k is stupid cheap. I just think this audience is more of the $8k = cheap variety.
We have seen a number of X cheap cars for fun videos, but its not as though this is a retelling of those stories. I wonder if this group is just as annoyed at multiple star wars episodes, lol.
To their point, a "part" subtitle might be in order. For instance "cheap fast cars for under $40k, part 3". That might appease their grumbling.
Overall, well produced content with loads of enthusiasm that has a good balance of light humor with a serious tone. The video presentation and lighting were all professionally done as well.
Don't let the haters get you down. I know Trav and Brad do a lot of the heavy lifting and longer projects. I'm sure their content will be worth the wait. Brad's probably producing a lot more ideal money videos these days. :D

Used BMW only appear cheap buying used.
The reality is its hellava expensive to maintain. They are fragile.

Please show me a non-Z06 C5 that does 0-60 in barely over 4 seconds. Look I love Corvettes and the C5 is probably the best sports car bargain you can get, but they're not as fast as what the video says unless you get a Z06, which are considerably more pricey that a regular C5.
