I just did this install and your video was a HUGE help as the video Mr. 12Volt did doesn't show a radio with the satellite radio. A few updates since this video was made...
    1. The video covers what you need to do with the fiber optic cable, but due to filming angles it was a bit confusing on which connector edges were being used. Just to clarify, the long end goes to the Mr 12Volt box and the "Y" goes between the original wire and the new harness plug.
    2. My long standoffs (to mount the board above the satellite card) were also brass. Looks like they got rid of the plastic standoffs.
    3. They have changed the menus so there is no longer a Mr 12Volt settings to set up your iPhone. You simply connect your iPhone to the Mr 12Volt bluetooth option and follow the prompts.

Thank you for sharing your instructional video! The effort you’ve put into explaining the process is commendable. However, I’d like to provide some constructive feedback to help improve future recordings:
Camera Work: It’s essential to position the camera so viewers can clearly see what you’re doing at all times. A well-angled and stable view would greatly enhance the learning experience.
Clarity in Instructions: Using more descriptive and step-by-step explanations can help beginners follow along. Phrases like “this goes here” or “take this” might confuse viewers who are trying to replicate the task at home.
Focus on Simplicity: Many of your viewers are likely novices attempting to complete complex projects. A more “dummy-proof” approach, with detailed breakdowns and visual guidance, could make your tutorials more effective for them.
Thank you again for your content-it’s clear you’re highly skilled, and your work is appreciated. Looking forward to seeing your future improvements!

Well done guys. The big question is where do you get one of those headlamp/magnifying hats? I don't see it listed in the tool section.

Excellent video! Do you know if complete removal of the sirius board will effect functionality? I mean, other than losing sirius, obviously.

Great detailed video. Feel I can do this myself now. I wonder if the outboard box under the steering needs to be secured to avoid any rattle. I live in Illinois and roads are bad :)

We didn’t do that, but it sounds like a good idea if you’ve got rough roads to deal with.

is there a kit to install a reverse camera on a cayenne 958.2 that doesn't have one?

Most retro fit systems go to the fuse box. Is this not necessary for the Mr 12 v?

    • @husmanbros
      @husmanbros  2 месяца назад +1

Correct, that is not necessary. It gets power from the harness.

Be aware of the confusing instructions here, which might cause you trouble. There are actually not 2 clips per vent but 5. Two on each side an the last one in the top corner

What about the Carplay microphone? Do you need to install one or does it use the factory Mic. I want the cleanest install possible and most of the kits i've seen online require you to install things like an additional mic for phone calls and Carplay etc

You can have your phone connected to the Apple CarPlay Bluetooth and the stock Bluetooth, when you receive a call and you pick up, you need to switch on your phone to use the stock Bluetooth ( not the one with Apple play) and it will use the mic of the car 😊
