2.5K striped oled. This is the holly grail of VR. I guess i want to know a bit more info about the panel. Does it have a white subpixel? Is it bright enough? Does it have microlens array or quantum dot? Can you drive the displays of such large resolution at 90hz without interlacing or foviated rendering?
The panel is apparently capable of 3000 nits, but the pancake optics cut that down a lot, and cap at ~90 degrees FOV. It seems the laws of physics are being challenged by this extremely small design. I'm so ready to see this device in person.
Apparently someone with a hands on prototype said that the actual fov is a little bit higher than what they say it is when they measured it. When asked about it, they replied that they'd rather underpromise and over deliver. Supposedly its comparable to a quest 2
Alright, gotta make sure no data leaks out of those 3D Face Scans. Also not having more than 93 degrees of FOV's gonna hurt when used to the Index's 120-130 degrees. Now Quest users already used to refresh rates at 80-90 Hz won't seemingly see any difference, but if you love higher rates like on the Index then it seems not the headset for you yet. I will admit however that their solution to have magnetically clipped prescription lenses (and having support for prescription lenses in the first place) is a really nice concept. Now to see if they accept positive diopters. I'll still wait to see what MeganeX has in store.

Bro I'm so ready to put the 1k5€ but at this price I need authentic reviews before.
This is great, this would be perfect for bigscreen since it’s so small and won’t irritate your face after long usage. $1000 for 90hz? I don’t know about that. The resolution is definitely great. I figured you guys were focusing on bigscreen itself as a priority and getting that out of beta before coming out with something like this. I hope you achieve your sales goals. 1k is just too much for this.
The size of the glasses was excellent. (Revolutionized VR technology)👏👏 But the biggest downside was forcing its future customers to use an Apple iPhone to scan their faces. (I don't have an Apple cell phone) l It would be a much greater sales success if they eliminated the obligation to scan the IPD. (look for another solution)😒
WAOW looks too good on paper to be real! Fantastic and very unexpected new. I love the fact it is designed by Bigscreen so we know the visual and comfort experience is without a doubt very well designed. I'm skeptical about the field of view but based on the provided data, it's not too bad as it is even slightly better than the Rift S. With a little chance a small FOV could not be a problem when the visual quality is spot on. What is guaranteed at least, is it's not a problem for cinematographic experiences!
What puts me off massively is the need to buy base stations for tracking as it really bumps the price up, but I guess to build a head set so small it would be impossible to include inside out cameras within it
Id buy one right now but yet again us pricing is ridiculous, it's $999 on the US site but it's £1149 in the UK site which is $1380. So please @Bigscreen what makes the UK version nearly $400 more expensive? (Almost half the cost of the device)
As I don't have the lighthouse units or controllers I can't get this..Not gonna invest in like 7 year old technology but this looks great. Just wish it had inside out tracking, wonder how much extra space would be needed for that.
I'm a bit worried about the custom fit face gasket. It's based on the 3D scan of your face at a given time, but tomorrow or the day after, my face may swell/shrink because of reasons X or Y and the face gasket won't be a perfect fit anymore. I kind of wish there was some kind of "universal gel pads" you could use (you know, like how hearing protection muffs can have gel cushions instead of foam cushions sometimes). On the downside, it means the headset must be firmly pressed against your face. On the plus side, gel makes it hundreds of times more comfortable than foam.
After 5 month's use, I haven't had any issues with my cushions. With the Audio strap you can lower the pressure on your face to barely touching and still have it stay in place. It's ultimate comfort.
Sold my HP Reverb G2 that I was running with Index controllers & lighthouses and am looking forward to the light weight and a headset that's designed to run on steam & their hardware. I kind of regretted pre-ordering the G2 with it's crappy tracking & controllers and hopefully wont be disappointed with the Bigscreen Beyond that I pre-ordered.
Wow. Beautiful and impressive. Finally something new that isn’t using inside-out tracking regardless, but not something I can get since I’d need more/better base stations and controllers to use it. Also want built in headphones/mic. And I’m not sure about all the specs, physical IPD is a must for me. That price is crazy too…
The Beyond has a very high quality built in microphone array comparable to the Valve Index (one of the best around). They also have a headphone / headstrap if desired (optionally).
Right on the pre order page: Prescription Lens Inserts For those who need corrective vision, prescription lens inserts enable you to see in VR while preventing eye strain, headaches, and discomfort. Every lens is custom-made to your specification. With magnetic frames, it’s quick to slip on or remove from your headset. Up to -10.00 with astigmatism support
if it performs cud be something I get, my biggest gripe with VR is that its not AR . No bulk nothing heavy just change your world into one giant digital play ground.
Wired is better than wireless for bandwidth purposes. You cannot physically make a wireless headset that will be agnostic of stream latency and compression. But oh well, why would you ever think about that, your problem is "wire". In reality tho, wired headsets rival all the wireless options when it comes to picture quality and latency.
Supposedly each uOLED panel in this HMD apparently costs around $500 to buy standalone. All together, they aren't making much on this extremely cutting edge technology.
@@UltimateAK86 thata really surprising actually. Given (what I'm assuming is) the relatively low production quantity, I don't know how big screen would make a profit per unit. That's really interesting but still means I can't buy it easily. 😭 It's probably less than 500 if they bought them in bulk or something.
Exciting to see the specs getting better in VR. Still have a modded Pro2 and holding out for that next upgrade. It's getting there, but still not seen anything mind-blowing yet. Wireless, FOV, better res. It can't be far away now.
You can’t have full VR with glasses, AR sure but not VR. This is about as small as it gets for VR, unless you want to be peeking through a door peep hole
honestly, i just started shopping around to get a new headset this week and this is the one i would have gotten but i like my friends to use my vr headset too and the over personalization of this one made it a deal breaker. its a shame too because if it had a more universal fit and allowed us to change the spacing of the eyes for each person using it at that given time i would have jumped on the preorder. had to go with another one instead :(. so close to being perfect but too much of a focus on personalization was done with it
So the people behind the BigscreenVR application are now also throwing their hat in the ring for physical headsets? This is going to be interesting.

But the biggest downside was forcing its future customers to use an Apple iPhone to scan their faces. (I don't have an Apple cell phone) l
It would be a much greater sales success if they eliminated the obligation to scan the IPD. (look for another solution)😒
Just borrow an iPhone or go to any cellular service store like T-Mobile and use that phone
The trailer director seems to also really like the original trailer for the Microsoft surface studio
BIGSCREENS moderators are top of the line. Give them more power through the app. I commend greyfoxx specifically for keeping the app safe for kids 👍
What puts me off massively is the need to buy base stations for tracking as it really bumps the price up, but I guess to build a head set so small it would be impossible to include inside out cameras within it
Watched movies for years in the Bigscreen APP, cheers!
It just now got into my head that this thing is half the weight of my phone
This is wild! All about it, take my money
Id buy one right now but yet again us pricing is ridiculous, it's $999 on the US site but it's £1149 in the UK site which is $1380. So please @Bigscreen what makes the UK version nearly $400 more expensive? (Almost half the cost of the device)
same with euro :'(
I'm trying so hard to fight the urge to preorder one of these
Yo, this is fire and completely unexpected. I am impressed and looking forward to more. >:)
As I don't have the lighthouse units or controllers I can't get this..Not gonna invest in like 7 year old technology but this looks great. Just wish it had inside out tracking, wonder how much extra space would be needed for that.
Just got my pre-order in. Super hyped!
I have had to have watched this video hundreds of times by now. I just love it so much
I wonder what specs you need to run this sorta resolution without foveated rendering
it says minimum a rtx 2070 graphics card but to be realistic and have fun with it then probably at least a rtx 3080 imo
Add Quest 3 level passthrough with hand tracking and I'd be interested.
looks amazing can't afford it but it can have a competion with ps and meta
please bring bigscreen to PSVR2, we need it there.
I can't wait to preorder.
Thank you for not making this 3-5k
Mega song! Wow
Looks interesting. But to be honest for this price i'd expect a bigger FOV than 90x93°.
That was unexpected. :)
Wow. Beautiful and impressive. Finally something new that isn’t using inside-out tracking regardless, but not something I can get since I’d need more/better base stations and controllers to use it. Also want built in headphones/mic. And I’m not sure about all the specs, physical IPD is a must for me. That price is crazy too…
The headset gets made for your specific IPD from a scan of your face and they also have prescription lenses that you can magnetically fit on.
The Beyond has a very high quality built in microphone array comparable to the Valve Index (one of the best around). They also have a headphone / headstrap if desired (optionally).
ITS LIKE READY PLAYER ONE IN RL LIFE
can you use keyboard tracking to work in VR?
How is the result for those who have myopia?
Do I need to replace my glasses with contact lenses?
this is fucking awesome
Uh.....so. Where my Ready Player One
will this support prescription lens inserts for those of us who dont want to wear glasses in VR?
Right on the pre order page:
Prescription Lens Inserts
For those who need corrective vision, prescription lens inserts enable you to see in VR while preventing eye strain, headaches, and discomfort. Every lens is custom-made to your specification. With magnetic frames, it’s quick to slip on or remove from your headset.
Up to -10.00
with astigmatism support
This is a game changing piece of technology! and you can wear a headset easily with it too!
PLEASE MAKE IT POSSIBLE TO SHARE UR SCREEN ON MOBILE ON BIGSCREEN
Nickname is the BSB (BigScreen Beyond)
if it performs cud be something I get, my biggest gripe with VR is that its not AR . No bulk nothing heavy just change your world into one giant digital play ground.
if i only what the headset not the controllers (i'm a sim racer) do I need additional tracker ?
Hmm... wire. I'll just wait for the Quest 3.
@@Fatalutionquest has both options
I would be so down to buy this if it wasn't 1000 plus for the headset plus headstrap audio solution.
This is awesome, but vr will be fully ready when it is the size of sunglasses with ar in it as well.
You can’t have full VR with glasses, AR sure but not VR. This is about as small as it gets for VR, unless you want to be peeking through a door peep hole
No one comment on the song? Damn that was so epic. Who sing this?
Where I can invest in this Big screen Proyect please send the info
Super excited
I won't belive until I see and please I have an alergy for pre everything.
how do they custom build it for each client using a 3d face scanner on the other side of the world?
must be optional surely not cheap
@@guimcast1 not optional. You have to scan your face with a special iPhone app
Damn that looks amazing. Too bad I'm broke!
Oh and I love the song! Who is the artist?
Interesting! I like what I see so far, and even more interested in the specs, and demo
honestly, i just started shopping around to get a new headset this week and this is the one i would have gotten but i like my friends to use my vr headset too and the over personalization of this one made it a deal breaker. its a shame too because if it had a more universal fit and allowed us to change the spacing of the eyes for each person using it at that given time i would have jumped on the preorder. had to go with another one instead :(. so close to being perfect but too much of a focus on personalization was done with it
The price should of been 500-600$
Yea I think even 699 would be fine by me. But at this price I was thinking they should do 4K each eye. This one effectively is around 2K..I think?
I'll take your entire stock
I gotta admit this would be dope for my gpd win 4 (uh portable vr? hellz yes) how is it for people who wear glasses?
Can apparently buy custom prescription lenses that magnetically snap to the gasket.
Dammmm bro bigscreen well done
