  • Join Matt and Danielle on their journey from high school friends to lifelong partners. Their story began when Matt's family moved to Dani's city, and they quickly became inseparable friends. Despite Matt's family moving to a different city, they kept in touch over the years, maintaining their special bond.
Ten years later, Dani reached out to Matt, rekindling their connection. What started as casual long-distance dating soon turned into something special, a blooming relationship filled with travel, surfing, hiking, and camping. After a year of adventurous dating, just as the pandemic began, Dani moved to Santa Cruz to be with Matt. They spent their first year together renovating their home and enjoying each other's company.
In a magical moment, Matt proposed to Dani in Central Park, New York City. Now, they are thrilled to share their love story and celebrate their dream wedding.
Dani has always known she wanted to elope, and Matt agreed that an intimate experience in a beautiful country felt more like them than a traditional wedding. When deciding where to elope, Italy felt like a great choice for them. In fact, a few years ago, Matt visited Italy for the first time, fell in love with it, and always hoped to return. He told Somewhere Crazy that Italy holds a special place in his heart, deeply connected to his family's Italian heritage. Although Dani has traveled the world, she has never been to Italy, but she knew she would love it. For years, they talked about visiting this Mediterranean country together, making the choice to elope in Italy there an easy one. Delicious food and wine, warm sun, and even warmer locals... does it get any better than that?
Dani and Matt reached out to Somewhere Crazy with the desire to elope somewhere off the beaten path. After a conversation with our wedding planner and an expert in Italian elopements, Valentina, they agreed to elope in Santo Stefano in Abruzzo in the South of Italy. Still relatively undiscovered by foreign tourists, this made their elopement so much more special as they had the whole town celebrating their marriage with the couple.
