At this point it's hard to tell if it even is Generations or Adventure without someone saying it! Great to see the Dreamcast model and animations over Classic Sonic.

Too bad there's no Homing attack but hey this is proof that SA1 doesn't have such a bad camera system after all 😅.
It's Generation's engine, but using Adventure's assets (3D models etc)
The global illumination of the Hedgehog engine makes the difference, although the Dreamcast version has impressive illumination.

I have a longer video that played the level "normally". It's from a week ago or so. Also wanted to make this one a short because the SA1 model does not work that well outside of Emerald Coast. (animations glitch)

I just wish Sega kept using the Generations physics engine, because the Lost World one they’ve retooled in Forces, Frontiers, and ShadowGenerations has always felt bad compared to Generations…
@TurboPikachu imo, i think it's just the camera that makes everything feel worse. look at how much more dynamic and fluid the camera feels in this vid compared to the stiffer one he2 has.
@@jab7474 camera presentation is becoming a significant issue in Japanese games, especially Pokémon (having fallen in quality dramatically from 2004’s Colosseum/XD’s cinematic dynamics to the stiff scripted camera of every mainline 3D game from 2013 onwards)
But Frontiers’ actual steering of Sonic feels terrible. It’s the least smooth he’s ever felt IMO; even worse turning mechanics than 06 (even if Frontiers’ boost speed and jump mechanics otherwise feel decent)
@@TurboPikachuActually the one from Lost World has come from Colors, which I think came from previous Wii games
Since Unleashed (reused in Generations, tough it may have originated in 06, since the slide spin and air dash work exactly the same) and Wii programers were different teams, there must be something there preventing them from reusing the work from, maybe it's just convenience to the programmers since they already know what they are working with

@@sonicnetwork2944 Man sonic Generations would of gotten adventure sonic,and Both sonic teams working on it(Instead of colors being made in 2010).They would of had a full team make an HD colors(With actual levels and not a few 1 minute acts).

They would of given frontiers more man power if they cared now.
@@Archer170 first of all colors has levels yes they are split into 6 acts but you make it sound like we are playing sonic colors where every stage is tropical resort for the whole game and 2 frontiers had no split up teams to my knowledge at least

Now THIS is what I call a Sonic game. I always believed that Sonic Adventure (at least the first one in my opinion) was the perfect example of how a 3D Sonic game should be. The freedom of movement, the level design, the incredible speeds you can reach. It was like a glorified version of the Sega Genesis Sonic games, but obviously with the 3D charm and so much more. It was perfect!
It makes me sick how this formula has never returned in an official modern game. Although Sonic Frontiers and Sonic Dream Team are a little close, so not all hope is lost yet, but still.
If they did a full on HD remake of Sonic Adventure 1 and 2, it would sell like popcorn! I'm talking like a definitive remake like how Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy, Super Mario RPG Remake, or the Resident Evil remakes did. Not just an HD port like Sonic Adventure DX did.
Or screw it, even just a 3D Sonic game collection with this game included would be good enough. If Mario can get a 3D All Stars, so should Sonic.
Makes me want to play the trilogy all over again

When I played this demo at a Dreamcast kiosk back in the day, it blew me away more or less just as much as the SM64 demo at the N64 kiosk.
It felt magical, and to some extent it still does.
And the music is still 🔥 of course.

I think remaster would be the more accurate word here.
With a Sonic Adventure Remake I would expect the model and levels to be built back completely from the ground up to look more identical to maybe the CGI promotional art.
Sonic adventure 1 is one of the few sonic games that is pretty easy to break and funny to do it.
This is the first game I can remember myself playing on my GameCube😭😭 the sonic adventure games were the absolute best in the series

That's not how the physics work, its fastest to immediately unroll after a spindash since rolling makes your speed plummet
The inconsistencies are clear but this is still a really impressive mod 😮

I'm playing generation's now too it's the game I go too. First time playing through. I just saw escape from the city, sonic adventure 2. That was sweet, sega dreamcast. The truck chasing him down the hill. I little bit of a twist but very good.
