I'm a drysuit instructor, and I'm actually thinking of using these two videos whenever a student asks me to start the training on deeper waters before we fully check their equipment+weights+buoyancy skills in our club's 4m pool. Thanks a lot DIVE TALK for talking about this not for the shock value, but to actually talk about what went wrong and could have gone better.
I’m a dive instructor in Alabama and I want to tell her Mom and the others there THANK YOU for trying to make the worst tragedy of her life try to be a learning experience so nobody has this happen. I’m also a nurse and we call this “root cause analysis” to bring learning! Again, thank you!
Woody... you really don't know why you guys have been selected? Because you promote safety, because you care. Because you have integrity. I don't know of any other dive channels on the inter tubes, but you're the only one I watch and follow.
TRUTH - Longform independent media is absolutely the new standard of information. @DIVETALK only cares about two things: The Truth & Safety. That is why this channel is as big as it is.
Tachypsychia is why your brian has edited this incident the way it has. Bob did everything he could in that moment and he's a hero. In no way does he deserve the guilt he feels. Thank you all for making this happen and to Lisa for allowing this story to be shared in a format that benefits everyone listening.
I'm a very active Course Director, which means I train divemasters to become instructors, there hasn't been one single course of mine where I don't discuss and show Linnea Mills case in detail to my trainees, I need my new instructors to understand that safety is a lot more than signing some forms for an agency. I have so much admiration for Linneas mother for not letting this 'accident' die out. Despite the agencies, there are still a few good ones of us that go beyond those minimum standards, it's us. We make the industry.
Gross negligence doesn't even cover the level of incompetence of the investigators in this case. Linnea is extremely fortunate to have such a caring group of people who continue to try to get justice for her. I'm honestly glad to know that Debbie has been expelled by PADI as an instructor, I just hope she doesn't become an instructor under another agency. The way she handled this entire situation is a great example of an individual who is not fit to teach an activity that can go so terribly wrong if protocols are not followed. Props to Woody and Gus for this interview. It's rare to find hosts who are so respectful and willing to take a backseat to allow the interviewees and victims to speak without constant interruptions. I'd be extremely lucky if I ever get to dive with the two of them! EDIT: and add Bob to my list of dream dive buddies too!
I feel angry that Debbie couldn't even go and tell the family how sorry she is, that she will take any responsibility, that she is so sorry mistakes happened and if she personally didn't something wrong.
The tears I've shed from the first episode to today... It's not even a ripple in the pond given what these two families went through. My heart goes out to both Lisa and Bob. BOB is absolutely a hero. I hope those responsible for Linnea's death directly and indirectly find the consequences they deserve for this painfully obvious negligence.
I think this is the most important thing Dive Talk has ever done and the singular question I have is: what can we, your subscribers, do to help these people get justice or in any other way? You have 372,000 subscribers, if even a fraction of us start pressuring the authorities publicly, perhaps it will make a difference. There has to be some accountability for this and I truly believe given the facts of this case that there will be eventually. There is hope for that. Thanks again, what a remarkable thing, you are all heroes, Linnea the most.
Robert is a strong man because I cried like a baby when Lisa revealed that she named the scholarship after him. A first responder scholarship is such a wonderful idea
Hey guys! I'm an SSI Instructor, a retired Homicide Detective and current PI and consultant. I'm appalled at the quality of the investigation and am willing to consult on this if the family wants help.....
Find out why they claim squeeze killed her when her clothes were soaked and 4” of zipper unzipped. Only neck and torso bruised. If it was squeeze, it would have been airtight/water tight. The leak that soaked her clothes would have equalized all the pressure. If it was truly squeeze her entire body would have experienced the vacuum equally and she would have had bruising her entire body. Find out why she was able to stay buoyant at surface just fine despite claims that she was catastrophically overweighted (which she was). These are things that don’t add up. That said, negligence on instructor’s part 100%. But the story just doesn’t pass muster.
@@davidsanderson7948 good points I was thinking the exact same things about how a leaking drysuit can crush her. And then removing her dive computer and then removing her diving records and basically hiding evidence and the fact that snow was already in trouble for another diver that has died under her watch.
Lisa, Bob, and David keep telling Linnea's story until they don't want to hear it anymore and then tell them again! I do believe Gull Dive Shop and Debbie Snow should be legally held responsible for their actions and other shops and instructors need to understand students look up to them for safe training. Everybody hold strong and a huge THANK YOU for telling Linnea's story!
As a young legal professional aiming to be through law school in the next couple years, this was a horrifyingly educational video for me and yet another source of inspiration to keep on the path I've taken. No family should have to experience what the Mills family has been put through. To the Mills and Gentry families - I am so sorry the system has failed you. My heart is with you today and going forward as I work towards pushing for change in whatever small way I can.
I'm going to print a sticker that says "Bob is my Buddy" and place it everywhere, to honour Bob's efforts and courage. That man is what a buddy is, what a buddy is meant to do and be. I want my buddy to do what that man did, risk his life, try to do whatever it takes. Thank you Bob, you are a hero.
I’m a new diver and a Mom. I’m so sorry for the loss of your daughter. Thank you to Gus and Woody for speaking with Mom of Linnea, the lawyer and Bob. I’m completely baffled that PADI isn’t helping with investigation, and also that Debbie Snow isn’t being investigated.
Here for Part 2. Listening to the maddening issues surrounding the accountability of the sustem and others who need to have it. Having served as a Military Police Officer, and a firefighter, you often see people like Bob taking accountability where it isn't his to take, simply because the people or entities that need to have it don't. He and others are putting that weight on themselves because of the failures of the system around them. This is a complete shame, and I am tremendously sorry for the things everyone has felt and is still feeling. Thank you for telling this story.
Agreed. I'm in the UK and we probably have a simpler jurisdiction framework. I was taught that if there was a fatality, then it becomes a crime scene, everything becomes evidence. Then it usually(?) becomes an investigation and inquest to determine what exactly happened and if there is a criminal case. The really important element is what, if any lessons can be learned because the old saying goes that safety procedures are written in blood. This is also for the good of the sport because unless the industry acts, and is seen to act responsibly, then regulators can step in and force changes. The other aspect is with insurance where insurers can refuse liability cover if insurers aren't confident with industry training and certification.
It boggles my mind that no one went to jail for that. It could have been 2 fatalities if Shannon said yes to a try dive that evening. Heck, she could have killed Bob too if he was less experienced. I have seen bad instructors and bad dive shops, but this one is just a next level. I've never encountered anything that could come any close to this situation, and I've been diving and teaching for more than a decade.
I just want to tell Linneas Mum iam really sorry. I got a new drysuit a few months ago, and before i start i searched for some Videos and found the Video of Linneas Accident. Since then i think about Linnea on EVERY single dive before I start because i learned how important it is to check if my hose is connected in the correct way. Thank you for sharing her story with us to help people learn something from this.
I am so proud of your content and how fortunate the public is to gleam this knowledge in this dignified manner. Saving lives, Linnea is saving lives! Woody is my hero! Fairwinds and no bubbles!
I live in MT, thank you for covering this. There was no real effort by journalists here to investigate and communicate what happened. Love your channel. God bless all the divers we have lost.
I cannot fathom that the AUSA didn't pursue charges. It's mindblowing. Hopefully, since there isn't a statute of limitations, there will one day be a trial. Thank you all for sharing. I'm so sorry for the loss and trauma you all suffer. Thank you Woody and Gus for this extended interview. May Linnea live long thru her foundation
When I was learning to dive my partner and I actually watched videos where people died diving. We didn't watch them for the shock value we watched them to learn, to see the mistakes made in the moment. They were hard to watch, but I feel like it made me a better diver. Now, on EVERY dive we do practice skills to try to make our reactions to every situation muscle memory as much as possible. One time on a vacation dive in the Florida Keys my partner randomly did "out of air" at me and I shared air. There was a guide nearby who freaked out. We had to reassure him with many "ok"s and stopping to share, that things were actually ok.
I’m not a diver and I don’t plan to ever go beyond scuba or, maybe diving in a pool for the experience - using the gear. This is a personal preference. - Diving is so fascinating. Diving needs so much knowledge and experience. This channel is absolutely one of my favorite educational ear worms. - I know I’m going to say what everyone else has, and say that even though this is a one in a million occurrence being able to address this situation with dignity, respect, and being able to turn it into this conversation- amazing. Rest peacefully Linnea. May her family/friends find peace in their memories and time they had with her. ❤
That dive computer should have been treated like the black box on an aircraft,. And apparently the fact a crucial piece of evidence was removed from the scene ad in the possession of a person possibly criminally liable did not seem wrong to investigators is appalling at least. Removing evidence should be chargeable in itself.
Been waitin on this since part 1! Very very good interview. I feel so bad for Bob! He’s a true hero! May God comfort his mind/heart and allow him to move on from this tragic incident. If anyone needs to be scrutinized, it’s the “instructor”
Also- what a beautiful thing out of this. Bob-having that first responder award named after you - I cried. Such a sweet painful moment. You are a hero Bob‼️‼️‼️
The negligence is incomprehensible and disgusting. Thank you Dive Talk for bringing this story to light to many more people. Bob is a true blue hero. This miscarriage of justice needs to be corrected.
Thank you all for this conversation. All dive shops and instructors should also be required to have a Garmin Inreach if diving in remote areas. This should be a mandatory part of an emergency plan.
I absolutely applaud Lisa Mills for her attitude -- wanting to use her daughter's death to increase the safety of diving, and wanting to find out the truth of what happened. Lisa, I wish you'd never had to go through this, but I do feel that years from now diving, and diving instruction, will be a good deal safer because of your work.
19:10 this is exactly what I was going to say. Linnea’s last moments of consciousness were of someone trying to help her. She wasn’t alone. That simple fact is worth so much.
Linnea's mom has such strength and grace. Bob is a hero. He displayed such selflessness trying to save a life and do the right thing. I have so much respect for everyone in this video. I am beyond enraged at the instructor who is 100% responsible for the loss of life and borderline tampering with evidence to hide things. She needs to be help responsible and accountable for her gross negligence. Thank you Gus and Woody for putting this together. Also, I have a lot of respect for the Hires for doing what they did to help. I hope one day we can can all get justice for Linnea.
New viewer here such a horrible tragedy im a little familiar with diving but i never heard about dying from a dry suit unbelievable the amount of negligence at hand here thank you both for your informative videos RIP Linnea
Lisa is such a brilliant person, I feel so lucky to have listened to her speak. Thank you and everyone involved for speaking about this and teaching us all some incredibly valuable info.
This was very powerful. Thank you Dive Talk, thank you Lisa and Bob for being such wonderful people, and thank you David for helping them fight for justice for Linnea.
How it’s possible that because the dive was done in a remote location the instructor didn’t have an O2 kit? 2 hours waiting for assistance 😮. No words!!!
Gus & Woody, you are such precious human beings. You deserve all the love, respect and support you receive on this channel 🫶🏻 Best wishes from Germany.
I've only just started watching the vid, but I want to say that I really admire you guys for taking your time with this situation & not just reacting as the information was coming out. Even organising this interview & allowing us to hear it from the people who were there/know the details is huge
I’m not a diver but when my husband died…… everything went wrong that day. No matter how many times I roll the weekend over in my mind…..every angle where he could have been saved failed for one reason or another. Snow storm causing no helicopter to be flown, hospitals that could help him were not taking patients-full, the nearest hospital was not equipped to do much and the nearest hospital that could was two hours away by ambulance. I tell you this because I have read the hospital, ambulance and accepting hospital records over and over. There was no option that day besides him to leave us that day. Same as your daughter. My heart hurts for you and her mom. No matter how many tell you the guilt that day is not yours to carry…..we do. You are not alone and I will keep you in my prayers ❤️
I've never been unsubscribed, but youtube definitely wasn't telling me you had been posting videos for months. I had to search you up and go back and watch months of videos to catch up. Glad woody is doing better cant belive I missed that wild event. I would have been so sad if Woody hadn't made it.
😢 listening to Linnaes mum talk about Paddi not caring about her daughters death to not direct any compassion towards her about it, is shocking heartbreaking and inhumane. Very cold Sorry you experienced that from them.
This whole situation … there are no words. My heart goes out to the family and to the people affected by this tragedy. Thank y’all for being unafraid to post these videos and get the information out there.
I love you Woody and Gus you guys have been a big inspiration to my life to begin scuba diving and learn and trust myself thankyou for your kindness and wisdom I love listening to you ❤️
Wow. What a tragic day it was exactly four years ago. It is very moving to see how much each person here cares about the other - cares very deeply. Lisa and Bob are exceptional people, well all of you are and this might sound weird but I found this to be inspiring and motivating, not in a rah rah sort of way, rather in a quiet and determined way if that makes any sense. Thank you for having the courage to share your stories, I've no doubt it was a difficult thing to do but I'm certain you've saved lives by doing so. I really mean that.
Everyone involved, thank you so much for sharing. Not a diver yet, would like to be, and making the industry safer - diving and water - is so important as a legacy. And as always, thank you Gus and Woody for making this happen and safety awareness generally.
Oh my gosh, that scholarship name 🥺🥺🥺, that is so lovely. My heart goes out to everyone involved and affected by this. It is shameful there was no legal justice for that negligence. As someone who also watches true crime, it is my opinion that even if there wasn't a case for criminal negligence (which I think there is), there should be charges for attempting to hide evidence and hindering an investigation.
I want to start by saying I am so sorry for the loss of this beautiful life. I would also like to say thank you from the bottom of my heart to her parents for coming out and publicly talking about the worst day of their lives. You guys are hero’s in my eyes by talking about this so that lessons can be learned and lives can be saved. Bob you sir are a hero full stop. He did everything he could to save her including putting his own life at risk. Keyboard warriors need to check themselves. It’s so easy to hear a situation and make judgements. Please remember that as we are hearing the story we have all the facts and fully understand the situation. During the accident the people involved did not have that luxury. Half the battle for them is trying to understand what is actually going on. Then add the stress of trying to save this beautiful young ladies life.
The way my face just lit up and I felt my mood changing from crappy to excited and happy the moment RUclips put this new Dive Talk video on the top of my feed 🤗 Never been diving a day in my life but I love learning and love you guys ❤️🙌🏼
I have never dived.not even snorkeling. I really enjoy your content. You two so compliment each other. I really enjoyed the first part of this.not done for likes or sensationalism. Just trying to get to the truth.well done.going to watch part 2 a bit later.
This story, even from past video, pisses me off! Saddens me deeply. I'm a Master Diver (Going for Dive Master soon), and been teaching and helping out teach student how to dive, and first of all, all red flags from the instructor and that day, leaves me speechless. For Dive Talk, and all in this videos, not only congratulate you guys for making this, I also use these video, and all videos from Gus and Woody, as learning. I will take from these videos and experience the knowledge of WHAT NOT TO DO, and HOW NOT TO TEACH. I think, and believe that these videos and experience WILLL save lives. Although it may not be a "rule" of these. The idea and learning is to teach people that, although it has its risks, DIVING IS FUN, AWESOME. I started my diving in PADI, but moved to NAUI. Found a lot of differences from PADI to NAUI. The teaching the safety, and all emergency procedures for instances. I found that PADI (now) is a money grab organization, and been told that PADI now is owned by banks and corporations, which happened after I started Diving. It pisses me off how PADI handled this, and how they treat Lisa and all. How this case IS NOt being taken seriously, so they can save lives in future. It should take as seriously as a plane crash. All plane crashes have tough and forced the industry to be safer, and have rules. This death, and all these types of deaths, accidents, should lead to safer diving, and experiences. Congratulations to Dive Talk. And if I could, would love to have a chance to go diving with you guys.
WOW you guys took on a heavy one here and did it proper justice. Unlike the federal park systrem, and many other entities who should have. Nice job of it all. Just HUGE props to Dive Talk.
The amount of incompetence is horrifying! And to think Shannon could have been down there too. For an instructor to take an uncertified diver in a DRY SUIT down WHILE instructing a class IN THE DARK is in itself criminal (in my opinion).
This was a really well documented episode good job guys thank you for sharing Linnea’s story in its entirety, I am so similar in age and described demeanor it’s scary to imagine myself being shepherded into my own death 💔
The courage shown in parts 1 and 2 is amazing. Thanks for these and the people sharing their stories. And EFF PADI. Put Another Dollar In is still in fine negligence form.
I have stopped and started this episode a few times…dang tough one…I am not diver but I grew up 30 miles from the park. Falls and grizzly encounters are the typical far and few the headlines. When I saw there was a diving death I was convinced the AP got it wrong. thank you dive talk for one of the best coverings you have ever done (minus the Mexico fiasco when Woody whipped out that American Express)
Thanks for covering this story and I'm glad people who were there and her mom were able to be involved in telling her story. Also you guys look great love your shirts.
Incredible interview guys. I feel shocked and frustrated but I am glad we got to hear this story from the source. My heart goes to all of them. I pray for justice 🙏🏼💫
I read that gull dive shop owner jeannene called Bob up and blamed him for everything, I think Debbie may have blamed him too, that kind of finger pointing to someone who risked their life to save lenaea is disgusting. I'm glad to report that the gull dive shop is no more, it's closed permanently, although these types are like rotten cops, they just move to another town and open shop again.
And Bob is the only one who has genuinely said how sorry he is over what happened to the family. Why haven't Jeanette and Debbie said sorry and sent some flowers at least? Shows to me who's genuine and who's not and trying to hide something.
@@teijaflink2226 I guess they wanted to put as much distance between them and the case. Don't say sorry don't admit anything just blame everyone else. But the fact that zero consequences happen to these operators or there insurance covered anything was ridiculous.
It also feels like maybe Yogi and Boo boo - or the people who pulled the original investigator and assigned Yogi and Boo boo - have personal relationships with Gull Dive or with someone involved. Saying things like 'don't talk to anyone about this' feels like the advice you give to protect a buddy who you know screwed up. Refusing to investigate further, ignoring evidence and so on - that is all 'inner circle 101'.
Thank you for such a detailed look into this incident and thank you to Bob for speaking up and doing everything you could to save her. It is sad that there were so many red flags for this dive beginning with the purchase of the suit. I am so fortunate to have learned to dive with a shop and instructors that taught and encouraged their students to check, double check, triple check and if a dive feels off to you for any reason including just feeling uncomfortable.............. don't dive...... no shame or blame. I understand that a dive shop may be the only one near you or recommended, I appreciate the information coming out as an important learning opportunity for all divers or possible new divers.
I‘m Not crying, you are! 🥺😢💖 I applaud you, Woody and Gus, for giving these brave and kind people who are carrying this trauma with them a platform to speak. 🥰 Bob, you‘re a hero and I hope you will heal. Lisa, I am so sorry for your loss and that you have been let down by the justice system and PADI. I‘m hoping for justice and that you will have inner peace. You are also so brave and I love that you want to go diving. All the best to y‘all! 🥰
Great job, guys. You read the story or hear third parties talk about it, but this was an amazing opportunity for some of those involved to say their peace. Happy to be a subscriber for a long time and watch this channel grow.
100%!!! If you can't perform an emergency exercise from muscle memory, you will not have time to think in the moment you actually need it. I was passed by my dive instructor after I failed my last exercise of the day. I asked to do it 3 more times to get it perfect and he said I did it fine enough. No sir - I failed myself by telling him I refused to go into an open water environment without perfectly executing that skill. My dad is my dive buddy. Do you think I want to put him in danger over my failure? Hell no. I'm finishing my certification with a different instructor. Like any profession - some only care about the paycheck while others care about the impact of what they do. Don't just trust, especially when your gut tells you something is off.
Ooh, this is a hard one to sit through straight. There's so much pain here. Sorrow, disappointment, outrage, anger... I feel so sorry for her mom. What a trauma to live through but then getting retraumatised by the people in the industry. I'm so disgusted with Padi. I will never ever support them again in any way. I've been long put off by them, but this seals it for me!
That mother seems like such an amazing, strong person, she clearly doesn't want hate on anyone just better safety and people to remember and honor Linnea. And that this same thing wont happen to other people and more parents don't have to grief their children became of unnessesary mistakes. Sad that diving place too much of cowards to not even say sorry and send them flowers, that made me feel pretty angry.
Lisa and Bob truly are amazing for sharing their story, my prayers go out to them both. There are definitely bad apples in the industry, a local shop got shut down for scamming vets out of their gi bills, at least they payed for it legally. we need to definitely get the message out to new divers and even experienced to do your homework on your dive shop, instructor, and course before you take the plunge. If something seems off, if there are red flags STOP call the dive. No ammount of wasted time or money can compare to saving your or someone else's life.
There are of course no words, you have my every sympathy for this tragic loss. I mean I wasn’t there, and I don’t dive, but I do lead events and I couldn’t imagine the complete neglect required for this to have happened. We have a term for this in the UK and it’s called corporate manslaughter! This level of negligence carries a prison sentence in the UK 🇬🇧 💯 %!! Good work sensitively covering this Gus and Woody. Respect. Take note folks! Don’t ever drop the ball when peoples lives are in your care.
I notice a big difference between how PADI handled Linnea's tragedy and how DAN handled the incident with Woody's medevac issues. Sure, DAN has tried very hard to turn the situation into good PR for themselves, but they haven't tried to silence the Dive Talk guys and haven't actively tried to swipe the whole thing under a rug. It's a good thing that there are people in the dive community that work hard to make sure PADI doesn't get to pull this sort of thing off.
Thank you Dive Talk for this session. Believe me, this is going to blow up and a review is coming. Guys this is about to blow up. Jeeze I am boiling inside and soo angry and how greed is destroying our society. cowards and gluttons everywhere.
Gus and Woody, thank you so much for putting out videos like this for us. I currently live in the PNW, great diving out here but cold water. I am a very brand new diver got my OW in September and Just completed my drysuit checkout today. :) I did some research both this channel and other channels on buying my drysuit. Ultimately I decided to go with a custom made drysuit so it fit me better. I actually ordered my drysuit through my LDS knowing that it will take a bit to make, ended up taking 2 months. I got the drysuit just before my OW class (did it in a semi-dry). Both from stories like this and my own sense of safety for my life, I didn't take it out till I was properly trained. I am a military guy this bothers me immensely for the numerous safety violations. I am so sorry for your loss. And thank you so much for talking about this.
I was a skydiving instructor back in the '80's, Can shed some light on how we handled safety at least at my DZ. (Drop zone) Had to go through a 5 day evaluation course with 4 graded skydives where an evaluator would act as a student and do stuff like no-pulls, falling out the airplane by accident, backsliding as fast as humanly possible.. made you catch them basically and grade your performance based on what you actually were capable of in freefall. The course when I took it was led by an Air Force Colonel. As an acting instructor I can say that if one of our students got as much as a paper cut at our DZ there would be hell to pay. Hours of discussion and beratement. Nobody gets hurt. Or somebody gets their butts kicked. And let me underscore skydivers eat their dead. period. You bounce on my DZ you won't be a big hero. We're all getting drunk and peeing in your crater. It's called a 'crater party'. Safety was first priority. At least where I jumped. can't speak for everyone tho.. especially these days.
Thank you to all of you for this video. As hard as it is to hear, (I can’t imagine living through it), I believe that I have personally become a safer diver and I hope all divers can take a lesson from this tragedy and avoid complacency when it comes to safety. Can we support the Linnea Foundation by buying the tags? Can you post a link?
I'm a drysuit instructor, and I'm actually thinking of using these two videos whenever a student asks me to start the training on deeper waters before we fully check their equipment+weights+buoyancy skills in our club's 4m pool. Thanks a lot DIVE TALK for talking about this not for the shock value, but to actually talk about what went wrong and could have gone better.

Woody... you really don't know why you guys have been selected? Because you promote safety, because you care. Because you have integrity. I don't know of any other dive channels on the inter tubes, but you're the only one I watch and follow.
I couldn't agree more!
Why? Because you are such genuine people with great humility and integrity.
Thank you all for making this happen and to Lisa for allowing this story to be shared in a format that benefits everyone listening.
also why not put the link for the Linnea foundation in the description?
Linnea's mother shows great strength to be able and sit through the story of her child's untimely passing.
Same and I am not a diver! I cried ..got angry, then cried even harder.
Ask padi to answer Woody’s question in the video. That’s what would help.
@@DIVETALK Will do.

Trust and integrity, Woody. That’s why DiveTalk is chosen. You guys are amazing, and thank you for amplifying these voices and Linnea’s story.

Thanks for your kind words, we appreciate you watching.
A sobering couple of episodes, thankyou woodie and gus for all that you do to raise awareness of safety
That dive computer should have been treated like the black box on an aircraft,. And apparently the fact a crucial piece of evidence was removed from the scene ad in the possession of a person possibly criminally liable did not seem wrong to investigators is appalling at least. Removing evidence should be chargeable in itself.
it’s literally a crime to tamper with or destroy evidence
Amazed by the strength of her mother. God bless you all 🩷
New viewer here such a horrible tragedy im a little familiar with diving but i never heard about dying from a dry suit unbelievable the amount of negligence at hand here thank you both for your informative videos RIP Linnea
He was doing a better job than the instructer was and he is a legend for putting himself at risk and trying to save her
How it’s possible that because the dive was done in a remote location the instructor didn’t have an O2 kit? 2 hours waiting for assistance 😮. No words!!!
Gus & Woody, you are such precious human beings. You deserve all the love, respect and support you receive on this channel 🫶🏻 Best wishes from Germany.
I've only just started watching the vid, but I want to say that I really admire you guys for taking your time with this situation & not just reacting as the information was coming out. Even organising this interview & allowing us to hear it from the people who were there/know the details is huge
Thanks Gus and Woody. G-d bless all those victims of this tragedy. #JusticeForLinnea. RIP sweet thing!
What happened to him ?
Thank you all for sharing this story.
I've never been unsubscribed, but youtube definitely wasn't telling me you had been posting videos for months. I had to search you up and go back and watch months of videos to catch up. Glad woody is doing better cant belive I missed that wild event. I would have been so sad if Woody hadn't made it.
I'm not a diver, but when I have the time, I enjoy your videos.
😢 listening to Linnaes mum talk about Paddi not caring about her daughters death to not direct any compassion towards her about it, is shocking heartbreaking and inhumane. Very cold
Sorry you experienced that from them.
This whole situation … there are no words. My heart goes out to the family and to the people affected by this tragedy. Thank y’all for being unafraid to post these videos and get the information out there.
Much respect to all for getting this into the light for everyone to learn from.
Sending love from the UK. I am speechless ❤
I love you Woody and Gus you guys have been a big inspiration to my life to begin scuba diving and learn and trust myself thankyou for your kindness and wisdom I love listening to you ❤️
Speechless and humbled. 😢❤ much love to Linnea, her Family, Robert and everyone who had tried to help and continues to do so.
I really mean that.
as a fellow diver, more importantly a human being, I cried watching this. so sorry, my heart breaks for everyone
Appreciate Woody & Gus sharing this story. The ending was so touching. Our hearts go out to Linnea’s family.
Thank you! We appreciate that.
Thank you so much for covering this story in such details! God bless you and Linnea's family.
The amount of incompetence is horrifying! And to think Shannon could have been down there too. For an instructor to take an uncertified diver in a DRY SUIT down WHILE instructing a class IN THE DARK is in itself criminal (in my opinion).
Can we give a shoutout to the fenomenal and fearless lawyer as well?❤ and thank u boys for a very good episode. Love from sweden
This was a really well documented episode good job guys thank you for sharing Linnea’s story in its entirety, I am so similar in age and described demeanor it’s scary to imagine myself being shepherded into my own death 💔
Thank you for bringing this to us. So very heartbreaking for all involved.
The instructor had to be rescued by a student the dive BEFORE? My god.. hip surgery or not, get the hell out of here. This is outrageously infuriating
This is so incredibly sad. Speechless! 💔
Dive talk is the perfect platform for making people aware of standards and regulations for the diving world
Naming that scholarship after Bob is beautiful.
Gus looks so amazing these days! Keep up the great work man!
Never going to dive in my life ...but can't stop watching these!
We appreciate your feedback and agree that safety should always be the top priority.
Heartbreaking 😢I’m so sorry for your loss and the worlds has lost rip Linnea ❤
I‘m Not crying, you are! 🥺😢💖
I applaud you, Woody and Gus, for giving these brave and kind people who are carrying this trauma with them a platform to speak. 🥰
Bob, you‘re a hero and I hope you will heal.
Biggest condolences.. i cannot imagine the work it would take to be able to share this story like they do 💕
Good content as usual ! A big thank you to the mom and to Bob !
15:30 so glad Woody was there and able to articulate the feelings of the Dive Community. 100%
taking the dive computer was the clear moment this went from negligent to criminal
Great stuff guys. Thanks for educating all of us divers.
I was a skydiving instructor back in the '80's, Can shed some light on how we handled safety at least at my DZ. (Drop zone)
Had to go through a 5 day evaluation course with 4 graded skydives where an evaluator would act as a student and do stuff like no-pulls, falling out the airplane by accident, backsliding as fast as humanly possible.. made you catch them basically and grade your performance based on what you actually were capable of in freefall.
Awesome work on this!
Proud of you boys for bringing light to this and caring about people. RIP Linnea.
