You're very welcome Ricky. I get my wrestling fix through you. My friend always gets a kick out of my favorite wrestling time period being the 80's and up until WCW fell apart, but to me it was more fun then. I have a funny, maybe not funny story about Lex Luger and Kevin Nash that I probably shouldn't tell on RUclips.@@RickyJSports
You called Raphael Raphael in the beginning, you started calling him Michelangelo. Lol. Easy mistake, bro. Hahaha. Thank you so much for this nostalgic Rumble. You’re right, cartoons back in the 80’s were indescribably amazing. Saturday mornings were awesome. I couldn’t wait for every Saturday. I think I could live to be over 100 and I’ll always miss those days.
Lion-O had to face all the ThunderCats in trials to earn the title of Lord. He faced Panthro in strength, Tigra in stealth, Cheetara in speed & the kittens in cunning. Side note: I had a huge crush on Cheetara when I was younger. Megatron absolutely was the MVP of this rumble. Hope he gets a second chance. When I was younger, I had almost all my action figures wrestle. I wrote up move lists & played it like D&D with dice rolls & rolling for control. A suggestion I have for a Rumble is the Rivals Rumble. 15 pairs of rivals, whether friendly or deadly enemies, face off for a chance at the Champions Rumble.
My goodness! Papa Smurf must have taken a little sipp from one of Gargamels Elixiers 😂 What a fun Rumble, Ricky. I had a blast watching it. Especially Papa Smurf gave me a good laugh. Also Megatron was clearly MVP.
Fantastic rumble as always Ricky! Just thought I'd put forward my final bosses rumble suggestion again. Hopefully you can make it happen at some point! 🤞
Best part of growing up in the 80's was Saturday Morning Cartoons. Glad to hear are friendly neighbors in the north had them as well. THUNDER...THUNDER...THUNDERCATS...Hooooo
That was excellent Ricky. I could tell you loved calling it too. The Voltron-Megatron feud was epic. Hope you’ll do a 1 on 1 CPU vs CPU match between the 2. Megatron’s performance was epic. Loved the final 3. We seem to be seeing a pattern here of competitors celebrating too early. I too am partially colourblind btw.
@@RickyJSports Have you thought about starting your own E-Fed? I've always wanted an all Simpsons type wrestling show. Mr. Burns would be Vince MCMahon and Smithers would (naturally) be his assistant/Stooge. I think that would be cool.
Thanks again for entertaining all of us Ricky! Mumra for MVP! A Thundercats final 3 reunion and a great win for Lion-O! Thundercats ho!!🦁🐆 Cheers, Mike L 😎🇨🇦✌🏼
Hell yeah Voltron and Megatron both need to be in an MVP rumble they both kicked some major but and lasted into the 20's. Would love to see them go at it again
New subscriber and love the content (especially the rumbles)! I know I am new to the channel and maybe he has made an appearance, but one iconic late 80s/90s dad I would love to see is Dan Conner (John Goodman) from Roseanne. I think he would make a great addition to the TV dad lineup! Keep the content coming! Thank you!
I totally remember those episodes of the ThunderCats where Lionel had to challenge each other ThunderCat in their individual strength and prove he was the legitimate leader... they were among the best all time '80s cartoon episodes
You can ask your momma, your sister, your wife, and your daughter, why they call me the big blue booty daddy! BIG POPPA SMURF IS YOUR HOOK-UP, HOLLA IF YOU HEAR ME!
As always a fantastic Rumble! I'm not a WWF historian, but I'd say that Sgt Slotter WAS a good guy at first, taking on the likes of The Iron Shiek, but then after he went on Rowdy Roddy Piper's show he became a bad guy. Piper convinced him that he was being disrespected and made fun of by the U.S. civilians for serving in the military and using violence to defend his country.
I cheered on the Overgrown Homer elimination just as much as I did for fake Kirb in one of the previous rumbles. That Homer was a cheater Papa Smurf had to be Hogan is disguise! WTF!!! Panthro and Megatron are the real MVP in this Rumble!
I did that with my figures. But Lion-O would always get screwed. Until he finally won the title. And through a fluke, three seconds later Alfred E. Neumann won the title.
I absolutely love these rumbles , more than the real people rumbles. I think maybe because I pretty much had all these toys and played with them in a similar fashion. Sure , Megatron for MVP but I think Voltron gets a look in. Also , one of the best finishes, good always wins in the end . Keep up the good work Ricky 😊
I agree. I'm an early 80's kid so these slap. I stopped watching wrestling in the mid-90's so don't really have a reference frame for all the newer real people.
Voltron was the shit! If you ever get the chance watch the episode of robot chicken with Voltron. He's to another 8 season of rumbles. Love these rumbles and always puts a smile on my face when I'm having a rough day.
You should do an arch enemies rumble including both wrestlers and characters from all different things! Eh- Hulk Hogan and Andre, Batman and Joker, etc
Another excellent one. I'm still waiting for the "forgotten cartoons" one. And IF you do that one, you should put it in one of those great High School arenas you used to hold a few past rumbles in! Like because they're "forgotten" cartoons they don't have the budget for a big-time arena! I had my action figures have street fights, not wrestling matches. Would you qualify King Of The Hill, or The Terrible Thunder Lizards as "Forgotten"? Dinosaurs could also qualify there, and there was some old cartoon which had like 5 dinosaurs, each with special abilities. And another "forgotten" At least now, could be the Original Mighty Morphin Power Rangers.
Hello Mr Ricky J. Just watched your 80s cartoon rumble and I came up with an interesting idea. I don’t know if you can do this but if it’s possible maybe you could do a movie/cartoon villains rumble. You could have 1. Megatron 2. Skeletor 3. Mumm- Ra 4 cobra Commander 5 Darth Vader 6 kylo Ren 7 The emperor 8 The joker 9 Lex Luthor 10 magneto 11Gargamel 12. Lord Zedd 13.Shredder 14.Dr Claw 15.Count Dooku 16. Darth Maul 17.Loki 18 Thanos 19. Serpentor 20 Gaston 21. Captain Hook 22. Bane 23. Freddy Krueger 24. Terminator 25. Agent Smith 26. Red Skull 27. Dr. Doom 28. Lord Voldemort 29.Jafar 30. Hans Gruber
Hi Ricky, if you put wrestlers into a tag team in the settings they WILL team up in rumbles! It would be lengthy but I just thought I'd let ya know! Much love!
Two of my two cousins who are twins were named after the Chipmunks as my mom and my uncles and aunts had probably seen the Chipmunks cartoons growing up: each of them had Alvin as the first name while Simon and Theodore are second names.
Hi RJ did u know Vonton was remake by power rangers. Thanks for this RR now i can watch the 80s and ,90s cartoons
Not gonna lie, that was a very satisfying finish. And yeah, Megatron absolutely earned his MVP status.
thx dude
@@RickyJSports Bigger question, why wasn't Sgt Slaughter in the Live Action movie?
What an ending brother! You couldn't write a better story. He is the leader for a reason.
Great to see all these heavy hitters showing up and dropping intros for Ricky, mad respect
The short lived Mummra and Papa Smurf alliance was kind of fitting. They could be a tag team: the mommas and the papas.
Or The Mummra and the Papa. 🎉
And i am sure that would be a Californian Dream to see happening.

The 80’s rumble is quite a staple of the Ricky J. series, especially considering that most of us have grown up with these eighties cartoon stars, especially the ones who’d continue to appear in shows generations from their television debut. The following thirty combatants have been featured several times in this series, few of them have won this rumble before and yet only ‘one’ of them would be going to this season’s finale. We’ve seen many surprises take place during this match, and we’ve seen some unlikely competitors making it farther than initially. Appropriately, it all came down to two rivals from one of the most popular eighties cartoons in the history of television. And for one superstar, this victory marked the biggest moment in the history of this series.
Lion-O, the ‘mane’ protagonist of the ‘Thundercats’ series, first brought to life by Count Chocula himself, Larry Kenney. The leader and hereditary ‘Lord of the Thundercats’, Lion-O arrived on Third Earth as an adult but didn’t get a chance to age naturally (So one would say he’s a child in an adult’s body). With his super strength, endurance, and agility, this cunning, skillful fighter fought tooth and nail against Mumm-Ra and his horde of sinister demonic foes. We’ve seen him fight in this series before and winning rumbles like this are rare and a few. Lion-O should make the most of this victory, for if he picks his spots well, he may stand a chance at winning the champion’s rumble.
Who was my MVP of this 80’s rumble? Let’s get down to the numbers:
Of the thirty superstars featured in this bout, only THIRTEEN competitors secured the most eliminations. The highest count reached ‘5’ eliminations, which is four times higher than the average ‘1’ elimination.
I give the Golden MVP for ‘coolest’ performance to… ‘two’ candidates today:
Voltron… and Megatron
Coming in at number one, Voltron delivered the highest elimination count of the entire match and for a moment it seemed as though he could’ve made history this season as the superstar to enter number one and come in as the victor. However, it was Megatron who ultimately ended Voltron’s run and while he was one elimination short, he was able to secure the longest time in this match, if not the longest time I have ever seen take place during this season. Neither one of these competitors emerged as the victor, but it would be a delight to see these guys compete again in the near future.
The Dull Participation Medal for the ‘lamest’ performance goes to:
Optimus Prime
How ironic that Megatron’s ultimate rival and someone who introduced this match at the start of the episode would be receiving this medal. Many of my fellow readers would ask: Why? Optimus had high expectations of coming into this match as the heavy favorite to win, only for his time to be cut short by one of the dumbest characters in cartoon history, and yet one of the most popular, Homer Simpson. Ironically enough, these two have competed together on CAW shows like SCAW, and they’ve had their share of matches with each other before. pantro was in there for a long time. All I used to do is put these guys in my WWF ring and wrestle with them even when I was a teen.
You can ask your momma, your sister, your wife, and your daughter, why they call me the big blue booty daddy! BIG POPPA SMURF IS YOUR HOOK-UP, HOLLA IF YOU HEAR ME!
Bart looked like a cross between Bart and Beavis
As always a fantastic Rumble! I'm not a WWF historian, but I'd say that Sgt Slotter WAS a good guy at first, taking on the likes of The Iron Shiek, but then after he went on Rowdy Roddy Piper's show he became a bad guy. Piper convinced him that he was being disrespected and made fun of by the U.S. civilians for serving in the military and using violence to defend his country.
PAPA TRT SMURF 😂😂😂😂😂
I think you got Megatron and Starscream mixed up 😂😂😂
When Megatron was eliminated, I was like "Nooooo!"
I cheered on the Overgrown Homer elimination just as much as I did for fake Kirb in one of the previous rumbles. That Homer was a cheater
Papa Smurf had to be Hogan is disguise! WTF!!!
Panthro and Megatron are the real MVP in this Rumble!
Me finding out Ricky j is way older than I thought he was lmao
I did that with my figures. But Lion-O would always get screwed. Until he finally won the title. And through a fluke, three seconds later Alfred E. Neumann won the title.
That Voltron and Megatron are 🔥 🎉
Papa Smurf? More like Kimbo Smurf, lol!
Looks like Bart Simpson went same barber as Vanilla Ice
Final 3 AWESOME! Finals .... EPIC!
70’s cartoon rumble I’m that old
Definitely needs more parts
Voltron was the shit! If you ever get the chance watch the episode of robot chicken with Voltron. He's to another 8 season of rumbles. Love these rumbles and always puts a smile on my face when I'm having a rough day.
That Optimus Prime voice sounded like an Optimus/Jesse Ventura hybrid
You should do an arch enemies rumble including both wrestlers and characters from all different things!
Eh- Hulk Hogan and Andre, Batman and Joker, etc
Papa Smurf is JACKED💪
peds!!
Big Poppa Smurf, holler if you hear me!
Papa Smurf been working out, my god...
And another "forgotten" At least now, could be the Original Mighty Morphin Power Rangers.
what a great rumble with canadian voice actor Peter Cullen. i wood have like to seen more bad guys in it. you need to mvp rumble please.
Do you remember Saturday Supercade in the 80s Peter Cullen did Mario's voice.
YOU RELLY TO LET A 90S RUMBLE TOO
Papa Smurf WHATCHA GONNA DO WHEN THE SMURFS RUN WILD ON YOU
Hello Mr Ricky J. Just watched your 80s cartoon rumble and I came up with an interesting idea. I don’t know if you can do this but if it’s possible maybe you could do a movie/cartoon villains rumble. You could have
1. Megatron
2. Skeletor
3. Mumm- Ra
4 cobra Commander
5 Darth Vader
6 kylo Ren
7 The emperor
8 The joker
9 Lex Luthor
10 magneto
11Gargamel
12. Lord Zedd
13.Shredder
14.Dr Claw
15.Count Dooku
16. Darth Maul
17.Loki
18 Thanos
19. Serpentor
20 Gaston
21. Captain Hook
22. Bane
23. Freddy Krueger
24. Terminator
25. Agent Smith
26. Red Skull
27. Dr. Doom
28. Lord Voldemort
29.Jafar
30. Hans Gruber
How do you do those voices? It's some electronic effect gimmick, isn't it?
Great rumble
thanks dude
What game did you do the custom characters in?
Hi Ricky, if you put wrestlers into a tag team in the settings they WILL team up in rumbles! It would be lengthy but I just thought I'd let ya know! Much love!
Two of my two cousins who are twins were named after the Chipmunks as my mom and my uncles and aunts had probably seen the Chipmunks cartoons growing up: each of them had Alvin as the first name while Simon and Theodore are second names.
Panthro looks legit
Yes 80s part 2 rumble with Heathcliff
