Amazing story about an overlooked London structure. And of course far too tall had it been offered to our great British Museum. One rather spooky place I've visited here in London is The Highgate Cemetery. Took lots of photos but I quite fancy making a video there sometime. The nearby Pub The Gate House is supposedly haunted by The Grey Lady, who won't be seen if there are children or dogs in the Bar. Just a few years ago they gentrified the upstairs ballroom, a place that many of the previous Landlords would dare enter as it was the center of all the strange activities. They say that the Pub is connected via a layline to the nearby Cemetery.
Thanks for your feedback! My original plan was to visit overlooked places, places full of history that people walk past daily and don't realise the historic significance of it. That's an interesting observation about the pub being linked to the cemetery! My one concern is making too many different styles of videos on RUclips, I had started a second channel with this video on it but deleted it and moved the video here, still unsure if it fits and whether a separate channel with spooky historic stories is better? I'm currently halfway through one filmed at St Bartholomews Church in Smithfield, fascinating history there too.
@@RealisticTourist Oh my, I did reply to this comment, but because I left a link to my blog posting all about St Bartholomew's Church and the spectacular Tudor Gatehouse (1240) they wouldn't let it through. It was The Tudor Gatehouse that initially drew me to the place. Try searching 'A London City Walkabout' on Chrysalism Blogspot. Not ideal to be viewed on mobiles as I do things in a very big way. And in the side banners are the archive posts like... Highgate Cemetery and the Haunted Gatehouse. Inside the spectacular St Paul's Cathedral. The British Museum. The Victoria & Albert Museum. And probably the biggest London Christmas posts you'll see in Blogland.
I'll check it out, I found it by accident as I was early for arriving for drinks nearby and the bar wasn't open so I went for a walk around the block, so glad I did and been back twice since to have a look around.
Great job 👏
Thanks 👍
Your effort and attention to detail are commendable. Big thumbs up and subscribed for more amazing adventures! Greeting from IRAN 🇮🇷.
Thank you so much, there are a few more like this coming soon!
