Dr. H has a humility that I do not associate with surgeons. I would like to think he is representative of the profession.

I've shadowed 5 open heart surgeries, standing next to the anesthesiologists. The steps he described here are plenty accurate, if he can perform the mechanics he could probably do it in a pinch, like if it was to save a life and no other choice. Just got to have a good heart by pass technician and good anesthesiologist!. Also, one thing they did routinely is dump a bucket of ice on the heart to help stop it.

Of course you wouldn’t want to. I’m sure you could have become a heart surgeon but you are best neurosurgeon and Toledo needs you. ❤❤❤❤

And I wouldn’t want you to do it either even though you have a good idea on how to do it. I would rather you operate a decompression chiari surgery since that is where your specialty is than fixing a widow maker. 😊
I was a hospice nurse before my kids. They had a shortage of pediatric nurses one day. I was hiding in the bathroom. Nah I wasn’t but definitely was avoiding that one. I was called into the ICU. I did okay there but not my strong suit. Peds was a blip in the past in school.

Tell us about a hopeless case that you thought it would be and you did your best and it turned out to be a miracle and hopeful case and the patient got the full recovery. What happened to the patient, how many hours of surgery and how long till the full recovery, please. Thank you. 🙏 🌺
