Absolutely.I think it's clear from his contradictory, brain fart, stream of consciousness lyrics that kurt wasn't someone up who grew up being listened to, praised or indulged with gold stars for his homework etc....at all. Even the title "Nevermind" could refer ironically to someone who has a lot to say but absolutely zero faith in other humans to care. I think he found it difficult to suddenly have people hanging off every word because he was talented at melody. The book "perfume" that he loved is about this. The protaganist grows up ignored by others but makes an artificial perfume that causes others to love him so much they try and take a piece of him.

This is what it was like back in the day. My friend Danny went to tons of Nirvana concerts back in 1990 and so on and he told me that everyone was jumping off the stage and pushing each other and just going crazy. Times sure have changed.

This is the kind of performance a lot of bands promise but fail to deliver. You'll hear things like "This is going to blow up..." or "Tonight is going to be insane, anything goes..." This really was one of those performances.
There have been countless performances as you have described. I saw the Smashing Pumpkins at a small venue in Kansas City, Kansas in April, 2000. A month or so later, they announced that that current tour would be their “Goodbye Tour,” but when I saw them, they hadn’t announced that yet. It was one of the greatest/loudest shows. It was at a very old former courthouse. I saw several Cursive shows that were loud and amazing. Weezer In Lincoln in 2002 was loud. The Rolling Stones in Chicago in 1998.
This performance reminds me ACDC, the colossal level of energy and adrenaline, at certain point Cobain getting to the ground palying the guitar, someone flying into the crazy crowd from the stage, a time machine to the 90´s music and people.

That stage diving at 1:54 is historical.
This is one of my favorite Nirvana songs and totally underrated!!
how underrated ??? it's super popular
@@F34OIFJ34OIFJ acting like Nirvana is gatekeeped besides it us kinda underrated in the album
1:42 the little Guy dancing is soo good
2:38-2:43 Just imagine at one point he was a Young teenager filled with angst, anxiety and rage just screaming at his bathroom mirror. Now he screams to millions of people who actually care about what he wants to say...Maybe i'm trying to be deep here but I hope someone understands this comment.
Unnecessarily deep yeah
@Pan con Palta Oh I know it happened. Just a crazy thing to think about
I miss kurt
@@jamesrichards8285 yep, that's in Utero "Scentless Apprentice"... Kurt was my inspiration though I come from an entirely different background ruclips.net/video/dBU1vnW_qjM/видео.html

Nikola Dimitrov he is vibing doe
@Nikola Dimitrov i think thats a girl
@Nikola Dimitrov whoever it was, that person is awesome
I think that’s just a white person (neither I nor my father could tell if that was a boy or girl either back in 2011 when the Blu-Ray came out) from the ‘90s that had the incorrect assumption that was called dancing 😂
1:54 EPIC dive for an epic performance!!
ha DIVE!
BRUUH, i agree
1:52 that was one hell of a mega STAGE DIVE!!!! Totally cleared security. Must of injured somebody on impact.
Lewis Floyd Henry secruity wasnt as big back then
This is what it was like back in the day. My friend Danny went to tons of Nirvana concerts back in 1990 and so on and he told me that everyone was jumping off the stage and pushing each other and just going crazy. Times sure have changed.

Health and Safety kicked in.
Might wanna check out that Minutemen footage from the Love Hall in 83, two guys jumped from the 2nd floor at different times. It's not professionally shot footage though.
Breed and Territorial Pissings were my two favorite songs of Nevermind when I first bought it back in 91. All that energy. Perfect!
And now your most favorite of Nevermind is Drain You. Haha.
@@Sliver90 I'm getting old, so I prefer the more mellow songs..
27 years without you, thank you for everything Kurt. I love you sm
these cameramen need 100% kudos for recording this show. one of the best ive ever seen. almost like watching a concert but it's a movie. random guy stagediving, kurt falling and still proceeds to play the breed solo, crazy guy dancing. dave smashing and hitting the drums and krist dancing. these 3 were just on top man.
I wish I was alive in 91 to witness Nirvana
NoOneGetzOutAlive
I was in utero during this concert; born about a month and a half later
not my fault I'm only 20 bitches
Corina Esquer I was. July 23rd, 1993 Roseland Ballroom, NYC wold premiere of In Utero material. to this day, the most valuable thing my eyes and ears have ever taken in. complete sensory overload euphoria. communion, christlike religious level rush
Corina Esquer Are you dead since before 91?
I was around in 91 and it was GLORIOUS.
This is the kind of performance a lot of bands promise but fail to deliver.
You'll hear things like "This is going to blow up..." or "Tonight is going to be insane, anything goes..."
This really was one of those performances.
I ran on that stage and jumped into the crowd once upon a time ago. It was magical.
That was you? 1:52
no way that was you, really?
Wait that was you??
Yo that was you? If so dude thats sick
that’s sick lmao

Lol there is another video of Nirvana live with a guy doing the same thing in the crowd...i wonder if it's the same guy 🤔
He was throwing up heavy metal gang signs.
#ganggang
Don't know what his hand was doing, but his face was doing drugs.
This performance reminds me ACDC, the colossal level of energy and adrenaline, at certain point Cobain getting to the ground palying the guitar, someone flying into the crazy crowd from the stage, a time machine to the 90´s music and people.
The "GIRL" and "BOY" dancers caught my eye when I was 11 and watched this for the 1st time, Nirvana always said or tried to say something else, once I heard them I knew they will be the band of my life.
The ONLY footage of Nirvana shot on 16mm, and it just captures the raw nature of their sound and live show so well. Kinda makes you sweaty just watching it.
My entire teenage wardrobe was purchased from Salvation Army and goodwill to look entirely like Kurt Cobain. My mother was horrified.
Respect
same. felt good to look good and to do good by giving money to causes i supported.
The Best live performance Of Breed
2:09 love how the cameraman was like "oh everyone has to see this"
there's so much talent, innocence and naivete in this perfomance that it fills my heart and tears it apart at the same time! No contemporary music comes even close to this genuine catharsis by this incredibly talented and trouled youth
Very well put
Wish I was born in time to see one of these concerts. The energy is unparalleled
This is what we used to call passionated music.
And we hope to come back someday.
Its been 30 years now, we need a Nirvana movie...

Harry Jamieson Jazzmasters are the best. Kurt used one. Alex Turner uses one as well. Crazy that one of the best grunge metal bands and one of the best indie rock bands both utilize jazzmasters.
