Nice review guys. There is no clear winner IMO. As an ex KTM owner I'm really inclined towards the 390 but the CB 300R is also peaking my interest when I think about the ease of ownership and Honda's reliability. BUT in my experience the KTM service team can give more attention to your motorcycle since there are less bikes coming in for service at a given time compared to Hondas. BMW is not really bringing anything new to the plate other than its brand image. The 310 GS on the other hand offers something the competition (Himalayan) lacks in terms of power and practicality but it's a whole another segment compared to these machines. I think I need to test ride the Honda.

Upgraded from RC200 to CB300r n i am glad i did ! I sold off my RC at just 12k kms on the odo , the reason being the engine roughness after few thousand kms on the odo and the bike's handle got too stiff to turn .. It felt like a a bike with over 40k kms on odo after just 12k kms !!! This shows the quality of the engine n the other components are lacking in KTM not sure if that has changed now.
Note: Don't expect the CB300r as butter smooth as the CBR250 but it's miles ahead from the likes of KTM n BMW.

    3. BMW is great but pricing will be the main issue.

What I understood from the many post, BMW: Damn it's BMW i want one not Mmeeee(for show off types). Honda : it's bloody reliable (they just ride don't abuse for me Honda is most fragile: the Indian version)for typical rider who just want a two wheeler in the name of reliability ,but I need to enjoy not to bother about service bills . KTM: riders will trash it abuse it, extract maximum out of it(liable to break down : will be very practical individuals). Someone will never understand why, still it will outsell both.
